"Me, Myself, and Them" co-authored by Linda Wasmer Andrews. I am included in the book as the young person, "Nikki" (not my real name, of course). It is a good book to start off with in understanding what happens when a young adult is in the beginning stages of having symptoms of schizophrenia.
I'm a relative and my nephew has schizophrenia. I was given a very good book called Schizophrenia Medicines Mystery Society's Shame that talked about how people face stigma and how hard it is for the family to manage. What was good about the book was it explained all the changes that take place in the person, all the theories and treatments. It really helped me to udnerstant. I found it on a website called cuttingforstone.com. there are a couple of movies on that too. Hope this helps others
