Hi, I am new to this but here goes, I have had RA for 7 years, been on Methotrxate for 6. Since August 2006 I have had recurrent sinus infections, recently had sinus surgery which I am not healing from and today was told I have a staph infection in my nasal cavity.
I am on round 5 of antibiotics and am getting scared.
My office tested positive for mold and I am seeing a connection, Anyone else troubled by recurrent infections like this on Methotrexate?

When I was on Methotrexate I would have continuous Sinus infections that never went away. In 2006 I got pneumonia, then I got the flu I wound up in the hospital also with sepsis a(blood infection) my immune system crashed and the Doctor said if I had waited one more day until I went into the hospital I probably would not be here today. They were having a hard time getting my Blood Pressure back where it belonged. I am not trying to scare you but you have to be very careful. Because of the pneumonia and sepsis there are very few meds my RA Doc can put me on. My choices are very limited, my Doctor said if I were to get another infection like the last one that,
I probably would not make it next time. So be careful, also if you can get a pneumonia shot, and take care.
