I joined this site in regards to my boyfriend who was diagnosed with RA this year. I am constantly researching and going to all of his monthly appt.s, etc. He was started on Methotrexate which is not taking his pain away at all. Next his RA doctor wants him to start on a Biologic med, he and I think he should start Enbrel out of the 4 different types. I know there are side effects like infection @ the site, URI's, but I cannot find any info regarding long term effects. One of my main concerns is when we want to have a baby in the future, will this drug permanently affect fertility? Or alter the baby's makeup? I know it sounds silly. Does anyone have any good advice or info on any of the drugs? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
