Hello All,
After almost a year of struggling with all over joint pain and swelling and general malaise I have finally been diagnosed with RA. I am so nervous and worried about first visit to Rhuematologist. I picked up my blood work results today Can someone help me understand what an Rh factor of 87 means and a sed rate of 47. Also I noted that I had a negative ANA result. My PCP told me that my levels were way out of range and that is why he wanted me to see the specialist for RA. Help!!!

Hi there. I can't explain what the blood work means, but I can give a little advice on living with RA. I've been living with RA for thirteen years now and it really helped to go see a Rheumatologist. It is nice to talk to someone who finally knows what they are dealing with. Dr. Joy Schechtman is a good one in Arizona if you are looking (I noticed the Valley of the Sun location). Anyway, feel free to ask any questions and I'll do my best to answer.

Joy, Thanks for your response. I finally got an appointment with another Rheumatologist for an earlier date. I have hopes that my questions will be answered and we can start a plan of action that will attach this.
