Hello, can anyone help me to feel better about this situation? I lived being very ill from 2005-2006 with RA but didnt know i had it. Then i found a great RA doctor at a Arthitis clinic and he got my postive test and put me on plaquenil. Ive been doing great for two years, no major flare ups. Now my insurance has changed thanks to medicaid and the only doctor i couldnt keep was my RA doctor. So now im back to finding a new RA doctor and i just went to the cleveland clinic wed and that doctor said i dont have RA. Even though i had my blood test results sent to her from my old doctor. She didnt even want to give me my script for my plaquenil. She was such a b.. I am so upset. Im hoping i can find another RA doctor who believes the diagnosis from my old RA doctor. This is what happened to me before i found him in 2005-2006. All the RA doctors i went to said i didnt have an ounce of arthritis. But no one could explain the severe pain in my joints every week, like my limbs were broken, and having the flu everyday. It was awful and i was so relieved when i found my arthritis doctor and he helped me to get better. Now i have to go back to the nightmare i had again in 2005. Can you belive this is happening to me again?
Please pray i find a new doctor who belives my diagnosis.
thanks

I am also located in Ohio. Can I ask what part of Ohio you are in? I had the same problem...I went about 2 years before I was diagnosed by my current RA doctor. She was furious because she believed my ra had progressed quite far and the damage had been done while no one was treating me. She is now trying to find a way to help me as I become more and more disabled. My ra doctor is Dr. Vivian Hobayan in Lima, Ohio. She took one look at me and knew what was wrong. I'm not sure where you are located, but I travel 45 minutes to see her. You mentioned Cleveland Clinic, so I fear you are too far away. I feel your pain...don't stop looking for a doctor until you get what you need. No one knows your body like you do and what you need to feel better. I am currently only on methotrexate due to terrible side effects from all the other medication. I'm also leary of the medication and the multi-billion dollar industry attached to it. I'm reading Dr. McDougall's books that feel ra is caused by food intolerance, especially dairy. I am a HUGE dairy consumer and am getting ready to start the new diet he recommends. I posted another topic asking if anyone has changed their diet and what the results were and there hasn't been any feedback. I would like to know what everyone else is doing. Dr. McDougall's thoughts make sense...it can't hurt to try!

Hi,

I was told I could have a virus that resembles RA in which the symptoms last for 2 years. I was told this by an ER doc. She hoped it was a virus but she said she didn't think it was. Wishful thinking on both our parts. 13 years later I still have RA but really wish it was the virus mentioned in the er room that day.

I hope what you had is that virus and you really don't have ra. the pain is the same but the diagnosis is temporary. However, I would definitely seek another opinion.

Best wishes.
