Hi there,

I was a fitness instructor and body worker who worked with women with RA for many years. I am now a video/film director and I would like to make a dvd that helps explain alternative treatments/ pain management for RA. I would like to know what you all believe would be beneficial to introduce to others. I would like to incorporate interviews with patients, doctors, alternative therapists, etc. I also have access to animation to help explain what happens to the body. Where do you think I should begin? and what should I focus on?

Hi,DVD, that sounds like a great project.Because I am on a journey carrying me through western med, biomedical med, complimetnary care...all under supervision of MDs, I believe your film would be most beneficial to those with RA who are seeking solutions to their complicated illness.
You might want to check into the emotional links to RA, the past history of trauma in RA patient: physical and psychological, the ONE BRAIN treatment, accupunture, etc. etc. I have a long list of what I am trying, including IV and subcutaneious homeopathy, Vitamin C IV, emu oil for severe joint mobility, chelation for mercury, silicon, it goes on and on,plus you need to check with Doctors and Homeopathists and Alternative Healing folks re. the underlying diseases that cause the Rheumatoid, which are person specific. You need to talk to doctors that see people as individuals not grouped together under the name of Rheumatoid Arthritis and interview Rheumatologists asking them why they may or may not recommend additional therapies along with prescribing the Enbrel, methotrexate, steroids, etc. It would be a very helpful film.
