My mother has a 16 year old artificial hip. the other day for the 5th. the hip came out of socket while she was trying to do something but moved the wrong way. Both hips have been replaced but this one is the only one that has ever jumped out. We found out that after they x-rayed the leg that is was a fracture near the top of the femur bone. She can get up on her own now. She could before this happened. She turned 58 about a week ago. She has had RA since 36. I am afraid of this situation. I am afraid that she will not heal as she has Osteo as well. The bones are very brittle. She can cough a lot and break some ribs. What can be done? Will the bone heal back regular? The doctors did not do anything since it was a fracture I guess. They sent her home with no cast, nothing on the leg or other. Tremendous pain. She takes so much pain medicine which I would too if I had that much pain. My aunt, dad, and myself are getting her up to sit in intervals since I know she can't just lye there in bed. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
