Hello Everyone. I am ART208. I wrote Lauren913. Check out that post to hear something about me/ my views. I have had a mix of RA, Fibromyalgia, migraines, acid-reflux, and year round allergies to all sorts of things... including meds. for decades. I am still positive about life. I am lucky and glad to be alive. I have questions too. I am recently wheelchair and house bound for the most part. I am looking to make online friends with nice people who have arthritis too.
Hi, Iam also a member but have not been on alot lately. I have ra and iam on Enbrel injections also mtx . The enbrel sure has done a great job for me as before enbrel i could not walk, pour cofee do housework etc i lived in terrible pain. Hope your doing well. Are you also on a biologic? Manga
I bring myself to take the biologics yet. I used to be on gold, prednisone, sodium naproxen (Now called Aleve since it became OTC). Now I take celebrex and plaquenil. I have had very bad reactions to meds before. So I am afraid to take those cancer causing and Infection causing meds. I am allergic to many anti-biotics and don't want an infection. Both hips are artifical too. Thanks for writing.
Hi, thanks for your reply. I also did all those meds before they put me on enbrel but none of them were working, i had a very severe case of ra. I have been on enbrel for well over two years now. I am doing wonderful on it and have never had an infection of any kind so far. As for enbrel causing cancer well mtx , plaquenil , gold and many of the meds you have taken are equally as risky. One must weight the benifts of the drug. I was unable to walk, pick up a cup or even dress myself, after being on enbrel for a short time 6-7 weeks my symtoms improved greatly and within 3 months i was pretty much pain free. There are thousands of ra people on enbrel and humira and others that have given these peple back their lives so one must not under estimate these biologics. I have two friends that i met thru this site on in Texas and one in Canada both are on biologics, one for 4 years now both doing great. Hope you continue doing well on your medication. Manga
