I have RA and I take tramadol when I know that pain is on its way. My joints really hurt like hell when it happens and that’s what I want to avoid. In my case, I only take 2 to 3 a week except during severe attacks where I take a max of 2 a day. Are there any Other pain relieving methods that you practice? Any suggestion will be much appreciated. Thanks!

We kinda have the similar approach on the pain including tramadol as my pain reliever. Sometimes I place an ice bag on the area where the pain is and it helps me sooth the pain. You might want to try that too.

I find that heat works well. I don't have any pain meds so I've had to find ways to relieve my pain. Heat works for me.

I am recently going through a flare up with lots of swelling and pain. Mornings are the worse for me. My doctor has put me on Medrol. I also use over the counter ibuprofen, Tylenol, and aleve. (alternate them). I normally take a nice soak in a tub (as hot as I can stand it) of hot water. But right now it is too hard to get in and out of the tub.
