I am 27, and was diagnosed with RA about seven months ago. Prior to onset, I was a very avid yoga practitioner. Ever since I was diagnosed, every time I try even the gentlest yoga practice I am in pain and sick for a couple of days afterward.

Is this just a release of toxins in my joints? Has anyone else experienced this? I can't find anything on adverse aspects of yoga on RA - only articles touting its benefits. I would really appreciate any responses!

Lydia,
I have practiced yogda for many years. OVer the past year, I have not been able to do the downward facing dog. I have tried everything to cushion my hands but haven't had any luck. I can do most other postures. Any advice?
