Hi Everyone,

I'm new here and I just finished my first Forteo pen today, so it's been 28 days so far.

A few hours after I take it, I get so tired, I have to lie down for a while.

No other problems so far, so I guess I really can't complain. I'm just curious.

Hi!
I just finished my first forteo pen today!I am tired anyway so Im not sure if I can attribute that to the med. I seem to have had only slight dizziness at the beginning - which is now better. I did learn one thing on my own: I cant use my thumb to inject - that causes bruising- if I use another finger it does not. I guess I was using too much pressure . Keep on going!

Hi Newbone,

Thanks for the post. I think what is happening is that the Forteo is making my joints and muscles ache more than usual and that's interrupting my sleep, which then of course, makes me tired the next day.

I've only bruised once, but it was a doozy! The one time I tried injecting into my leg it bled, so now I always inject into my stomach. Will that cause a problem? I make sure I alternate sides, but I really don't want to walk around with band-aids on my thighs all the time.

Take Care.

Hi!
I also inject in the stomach area alternating sides. I did not seem to do too well with the thigh. I have heard that injecting the stomach a lot will cause a spare tire stomach- but I already have one . Hve a great evening

Great, so now I can choose between a spare tire or making my thighs even bigger than they already are!

I'm making an effort to eat better to get my stomach back to where it should be. If that doesn't work, I guess I'll start alternating to the thighs to see if that helps.

Hello, my mom has been on Forteo for 28 days and the last two weeks she has developed the muscle weakness and low enegry. But never any other symptoms. She does have chronic ostoeporosis as well as all the arthritis and Lupus overlaping them. She has done remarkable for the shape her little body has been in for 7 years. She ususally has NO side effects from any type of meds she's ever taken (very forunate- I'm super sensitive) It's strange because two weeks ago she got her annual flu/pnemonia shot for the year. On the Forteo warnings it says to contact you doctor if these type of symptoms continue, due to more calcium could be present in blood. My mom wants to wait about contacting him because she feels this daily injection is her last hope for mobility to continue. I feel I need to contact him, I don't want any more conditions to develop with her.

Has anyone else experienced these symptoms within the first month and did they pass as time went on?

God Bless Smiler
