My mom is in desperate need of forteo. But the cost is horrible. Does anyone know of any assistance a senior can get on this? I have not found it for less than $740.
Some doctors have been successful in having Medicare approve the cost of Forteo, as mine did. Unfortunately, I have just fallen into the "doughnut hole." If I had not decided to come to a retirement community that picks up cost of prescriptions not covered by insurance, I would really be paying (in this case) $672 a month. Check with your doctor, or have him/her refer you to an endocrinologist if your primary doctor is unsuccessful with Medicare. Good luck!
