As you guys know, I tend to be a bit stubborn when it comes to admitting I have a migraine, let alone getting one or getting over one.

So, the whole dry erase board concept is being expanded. I still have my dry erase board up for DH's info but then I got to thinking, hey what about the rest of the family?

My idea is this (kind of borrowed from our terror level colors); I am going to put diffent colored magnets on a board that represent each level of my migraine status. I haven't worked out each color yet but, it will be something like yellow=no migraine; red=fighting one; black=migraine hit; orange=migraine hangover.

Hopefully, as long as I am honest with myself I will also be honest with them so when I go into mean mode they will understand...

Whatcha think?

I think that's a great idea, but I would make one change - use green for "no migraine", since green means go!

I think I'm going to have to implement something like your dry erase board concept for my boyfriend. I think he will appreciate a list of things he can do to help me.

Love it too, Laura.

Can I make a suggestion also? How about yellow for fighting one? Then use red for when it hits. Maybe the kids would feel better (if possible) if we left black out of the mix Smiler

Just some thoughts....

Personally, I think it's a great idea, and I like your color choices, too, particularly the black one (telling it like it is!). To me, yellow is very much a migraine-free color, because it is sunny and cheerful and, well, it just reminds me of one o' these happy little smilies...Smiler.

Glad you guys like it. I guess what will ultimately decide what colors to use will be what is available at Michael's. I admit, now that I think about it, I do like yellow, a "happy" color for no migraine, orange for "fighting", maybe green for "hangover" status (because I can "go" again) and red for "migraine". You are right Nancy, black projects negativity and it shouldn't.

That will have to be my goal tomorrow. Getting my (hopefully) pain free behind out the door and create my board.

MJ-the board is wonderful for us. I add stuff and if I have some new "change of heart" he will ask, is this something that needs to be on our board?

I have to admit, when I first started reading this - I was just skimming along - and I was waiting to read the part where you were going to wear the colored post-it on your forehead to depict what "status" you were in!!!! hahahaha

sorry!! I found it funny!

But seriously - this is good! Especially for those with children!!!! Then they know - Oh mommy doesn't feel well by looking at the board/fridge without having to bother you!!!! Thumbs Up

I thought orange was perfect for hangover, because it's the inbetween color of migraine (red) and no migraine (yellow). It's like it's the red turning back to yellow.

That could be just the art minor in me talking, though. Big Grin
