I'm feeling pretty good for a mig hangover day. That will change of course once I leave the house LOL! Bright sun is a major trigger for me.

And I actually have to do two things out. After the derm appt I have to walk two blocks (doesn't sound like a big deal I know, but with fibromyalgia and severe migraines, I might as well climb Mt. Everest!). Anyway, I have to walk two blocks to a bank, withdraw cash and then go to a teller there to deposit it in my brother's acct. (Long story.)

I'm dreading it but maybe it wont be too bad.

Later...

Hi Laura,

Hope you're feeling better today! Sorry you have to be out some more. yuck. That sounds like a lot of activity in a week for fibro. How well is yours managed? I have a close friend with fibro who spent a few years in bed until she found some good care... I see a lot more of her now! It's hard on days when my joint pain really acts up, but I really feel for you guys with the all over aches and pains! Frowner Talk about troopers!!

Candace,

Thank you so much! My fibro is fairly well controlled. If it weren't for the migraines going kaflooey lately, I'd be out and about more. But I get pretty tired if I'm out for more than a couple hours, and I can't do things like shopping. But lunch with a friend, or theater with my hubby, things like that were no problem before the migraines got so bad last fall.

Anyway, thanks for the reply and I wish you migraine-free days!

LauraSue- Just out of curiosity- what are some of the things you do while you are lying still? I still think you must have a lot of patience! I hope your errands don't trigger a huge migraine!

Valerie,

The main thing I do is a meditation routine that I've been using for years. Sometimes that puts me to sleep. Other times I just lie there and think. Sometimes I make it a game to see how long I can go without checking the time. Sometimes I make a mental gratitude list, going through the alphabet! I think about things I've read or watched on TV. I think about what I'm going to write next on the forum.

All this only works when I feel really lousy. When I feel better and have more energy I get too restless.

Yes, it does take patience. But I have a strong spiritual live that has helped me learn patience. I have way more than I used to.

The other thing that helps, even though the reason for it is sad, is that I don't work anymore. I'm on disability so my thoughts don't race around on all the work I have to do. Same goes for housework and chores. I'm too sick with fibromyalgia to do them, so my conscience isn't bugging me to get up and do something.

In other words, my full time job right now is lying quietly, resting so the migraines don't recur and the fibro doesn't bother me. So I'm just doing my job!! Big Grin

When I'm feeling a little better, I lie in bed with my laptop computer, and there are no end of fun things to do with it, from the forums, to Spider Solitaire, to crosswords and sudoku, keeping up on news and entertainment, emailing friends and family. The time goes by so quickly I don't even notice.

Hope you have a good day!

LauraSue.

LauraSue- Thanks so much for sharing- you've inspired me! I love the gratitude list! I figured you must have some sort of meditation/spiritual program to have such patience! When I used to stay home with my children when they were small, I used to meditate and read a lot. Since my divorce, and return to the work force over 9 yrs. ago, I haven't had as much time for it- and I really miss it!
I definitely have workaholic tendencies- when I get home from my regular job I head to the computer to check my on-line business. But life CAN go on without work. The ironic thing is, I'm burnt out right now(I wrote about this in another thread).
So again, you've given me inspiration and some good ideas to get started again on some much needed quiet time Yes
