Hi guys,
Juust wanted you all to knnow I"m still around! Still strugggling. I'm wondring if I may never feel better from thiss one. DO people actually live likek this everry day? Tried an outpatient IV--jusst one day--no luck. My next specialist appoimtment is next Friday. THey will take me in for admissionn even tommorrow if I want, but DH is very sick (hoping it's not pnneumonia--he gets it offten). He's my main support and he can'tt take car of the kids if he's sick with these high feverrs. I"'ll have to keep on goingg day by day till I"m sure he's well enouug to care for the boys. My specialist offferred to fit me in early for a nervve block if I want to fly out there earrly. The doc's office is being helpfuul, but it's tough when they are several hours awayy. THe nurse mailed me a script for a few new pillls to "get me through" the next week--a ppain med I"ve never had before. SHe also gave me new directions for using my droperidl and phennergan shoots. (New med combo and frequency.) I am still having very hig pain and so much nausea! My eyes and "tingles" are crummy, too. I"m wearing out from all of this. WHat if they never find a way to bring this thing down for mee??? I"m starting to get scared, guys. |

If you've had a migraine longer than 72 hours--you know what you have to do. I'm sorry DH is sick as well, but you will be in even less condition to take care of the kids than he is if you don't get your situation addressed. Are there friends or family who might help out for a couple of days?
Take care of yourself. Keep the doctor's office informed, and follow your doctor's orders. |

Triple ditto from me, Jenny! I know it's horrid timing, but the sooner the better on this. I know you don't want to go in, but maybe that offer to admit you and really get the chance to attack this might be the very best thing ever. I hope you and your DH are much better soon.

Jenny--
I guess you know by now that we all think you need to be admitted--the sooner the better. I've been right where you are girl. Friends had to take over my two kids until DH could fly back from Turkey on emergency leave (took 2 days). Do what you have to. Find friends or family who can help out sick DH. There is always somebody! We'll be praying on it! Tracie |

Jenny, I just want you to know I've been thinking of you. Don't forget about Meg's offer if you're admitted in Philly. Just remember that if you don't take care of yourself first, you're in no shape to take care of your kids or your DH.

Jenny dear - are there family or friends who can take care of the kids while DH recovers and you go get yourself some treatment? This is emergency time! Mobilize all the resources you can. This is not time to hold back and you need to get some treatment!

Thanks for the replies and happpy thoughts everyone!
The new meds and combos the doc gave me are keeping this mig in better control. I still have aur a and nausea, but the pain is down. For everybuddy who's been worried--I had an ER trip for htis one already. UNfortunately, it was unsuccessful at breaking the cycle. The outpatient IV I tried was also not helpful. I have talked to the doc's office 3 or 4 times and they are trying new things to help me...As I said earlier, my doc feels several days of IV or inpatient treatment may be thhe only helpful things at this point. I feel a little more in control now that the pain level is down a bit. I can make it through the next few days til i can fly to my doc's office for IV's. Oh, DH does have pneumonia. He's not in the hospital, but taking strong antibioticss here at home. He's still having crummy fevers. And to top it all off, I felll down the steps today! WE have hardwood floors and I fell down 4 or 5...the aura and tingles make it tough for me to do much without tripping! I"ve got scrapes and bruises on my arms and hip, but no serious injiuries. I"ll check in again soon. ps--I almost forgot to tell you--My MIL asked if I coould "hold off" on staying in the hospital "until summer" because"It'd be so muchh easier then!" |

Jenny, thanks for checking in and letting us know how you're doing. I'm glad that the new meds are helping, but it stinks your cycle hasn't broken yet. Do you have an appointment scheduled yet to go to Philly?
I'm still thinking of you, hun, and sending lots of gentle hugs your way. -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ Why do I capitalize Migraine? Oh Jennie - so sorry to hear you fell, on top of everything! I'm glad you're not badly hurt.
As for your MIL's comment - acck! It would be much more convenient to not have migraine disease, wouldn't it? But you didn't get it on purpose! It reminds me of Danny's grandmother - who told me when I was pregnant with Adam - "It's very selfish of you to be pregnant right now!" when there was a lot of illness going on in the family - right, like I did it all by myself in order to inconvenience her! You take care of yourself, and keep your sense of humor. I'm glad you've had a little bit of let up in the pain. I hope DH gets better right away. Shoot me an email when you're coming to Philly! - megs |

Jenny,
Geez girl, I wish we were there to help you!! Falling down the steps You sound clearer, but sweetie, this cycle is not broken...And you probably know what I am going to say next.... You know that you need to break this cycle, you might need to see if someone can help you and DH so you can make the trip to you doc's office for IV's. Do you have a friend that might help? Even if DH can't go with you. Maybe another friend or family member can go until DH can be there. Just a thought. We Take care girl!! |
