I've been on Inderal LA 60 mg at night since 7/14, 53 days. I had some minor nausea the first few days and than off and on since than.
Since I got back from vacation around 8/18, a month after I started it and with no dosage change, slightly more nausea creeping up on me. Today, after I changed to taking the Inderal in the morning, it's been awful. I could eat and drink, but only lightly. Mint tea, and no caffeine helped the most. It's just too weird. I've been on this almost 2 months. I skipped last night's dosage so I would not take extra. I see the doctor in a little more than a week and will certainly call if this keeps up. It could be something else too. My assumption of course is it's due to meds I'm on for migraines, but gosh, maybe not. I'd so love to have something else wrong I'm so tired of this. Work is awful with peole leaving. I feel crummy. The migraines are controled so so. And my hair is still falling out. My doctor is aware of all of this and that's why after I talked to her yesterday she adjusted my meds and wanted to see me in 2 weeks. I'm not being ignored. It's time for meds and to take the dog out. He's so cute. Getting me out in the fresh cooler air will be good too. Thanks for letting me vent. Cindy |

Do you have any anti-emetics you can take? I find those are real life-savers sometimes. Maybe your doc will have a suggestion to hold you over until your next office visit. Hang in there, Cindy. -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com Why do I capitalize Migraine? Cindy,
Yuck and double yuck! I'm so glad you have such a great relationship with your doctor, she's great! I hope she can figure out what's going on with the nausea. Or, better yet, I hope it just goes away, wouldn't that be nice? The odd thing is that it started getting worse as time went on, right? Is the Inderal helping reduce your migraine frequency or severity? You said it's so-so, does that mean you'd miss the Inderal if she took you off of it? Big hugs and positive vibes are headed your way. Hang in there! We're here for you! Hope you feel better today Cindy!!
Have you tried the Ginger Altoids yet? Sometimes that's all I need to get rid of some yucky nausea. Either that or the minty ones - oh and have you seen the dark chocolate creme de mint ones???!!!! They are coated in dark chocolate and the mint is inside!! Have to have them....but I'm sure they won't help my weight loss. Why can't cake and sweets just be good for us??? Oh, Cindy--Ick. A sick tummy is the worst! It may be something that will go away with time (
It stinks that work is rotten right now, too. Why do things likee this go together all the time?!? AFter work today, you'll have the weekend to relax and try to recuperate. Things will look brighter soon, I promise! We're here for you--always! ps--I'm an altoid fan, too. But the fruity ones work better for me! |

Nausea is the worst. I've always had issues with almost-constant nausea, and now it's really, really bad. Zofran has been a lifesaver for me. It beats phenergan, for me at least, hands now. I do have to combine the two sometimes (with my doctors' approval), but that's not often.

I'm a Zofran gal too, Mel.
I also like the ODT (Oral Disolving Tablet) version, so if I'm having problems keeping things down, that may help... Jamie Forum Moderator |

Well the good news is that I don't think it was the Inderal causing the nausea!! I have been fine today, not even mild nausea. I am wondering if the take out I got Wednesday night did not agree with me and maybe the two together didn't work out?
While I am tired today, I feel better than I have most of the week!! Nausea is one of the things we seem to universally dislike. We try to avoid it and seem to have more tricks to deal with it than anything. It is the worst. Thank you everyone. Your support is wonderful. Cindy |
