I still have a minimum of 4 weeks to go to see it it's going to work. It's just hard going so long before I get to see results... which i guess is good in a way...'cause if the timer came out and I was "done" right now, it would be a bad thing. 'cause the beastie is still too much a part of my life.
Is that a rant? A Gripe? A grant? (whoohoo! grants!) |

I'd say it's more of a gripe. Short, to the point, no frills. To qualify as a grant (or even a rant), you'd have to go on a bit longer!
Keep trying that verapimil, Jamie! And try to keep smiling! I know it's been really rough for you lately, but you'll never know if it's "the one" unless you keep at it!! |

I think it's a reasonable venting of steam and expression of frustration. You're very patient to give the verapamil another 4 weeks. I know how hard that is, but it'll be worth it if it works.

Jamie, I completely understand your frustration with the waiting game. (I think everyone here can relate!) I'm keeping my fingers crossed
I was on verapamil up until this past Thursday. I took it for 13 weeks, and all of a sudden started getting horrible side effects. My body just decided it was done with it. Which formulation of it are you taking? I was on the single release (80 mg tablet) for 6 weeks, then the extended release (120 mg tablet) for 7 weeks. Keep on keeping on, and let us know how it goes! -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ Why do I capitalize Migraine? I certainly sympathize, since I'm in that same waiting game while giving med changes a chance to kick in. I don't want to give up on them now, though--I've come too far. So don't you give up either, Jamie. If it doesn't help, our doctors will help us come up with something else (to try for another few months!)

It can be whatever you need it to be.
I'm starting slow with the iron, and after three days I'm noticing that it's actually making me more easily winded and washed out. I'm *hoping* that it's one of those things where it just spikes up a bit and then gets better and better. It'll be a long six months of the stuff if not. The past couple of days I've taken one a day. Today I'm gonna try two, and then in a couple of days I'll go up to three. We can wait together for Good Things to Come Out of All This. Dragondrool Forum Moderator ~~8=:>>>> |

Hang in there baby! I hope this is the med that gets ya good! okee, will keep on keeping on swallowing the horsepill. I'm on the 240mg tablet- slow release- which keeps me from crashing through the floor BP-wise. We will reevaluate at next meeting w/ha specialist to see if he wants to raise the dose, or, if this seems to be working, to continue on as we have it now. |

Jamie,
We all know what you're going through. I think a lot of us are going through the same thing right now - just with different meds. Hang in there. Hopefully this will be the one for you. How long until you see the dr? I am always so impatient waiting on meds to work, but my life has really been turned upside down, so right now I think I would try about anything. Princess Grace (Jamie) and Migraneur -
I'm right there with the two of you on the verapamil. I started on 120 a day 11/15 and went up to 2 120s on 12/06 per Dr. Not the extended release, but I think that I will be asking for it. I don't believe it is doing as much good as the Topamax did, but I am willing to give it the time. I am watching ya'll and the doc is calling on a weekly basis - his office is calling - to check my progress, or lack of it. Let's keep a tight hold on this rope so that it doesn't coil up around us and trip us up. Blessings, Gilda Did you know that the elephant is the only mammal that cannot jump? |

Good luck on that verapamil. I started at 120mg and now take 240mg (one in the morning and one at dinner).

Hi Jamie,
Have you been fitted for that "bubble" yet?? |

Nancy, Oh, yes, and I've picked out one that should do the trick. Darndest thing though. My insurance thinks that this is an "experimental procedure." Go figure. I Mean, who'd think insurance would reject something so necessary for my health. Thanks for the laugh! |
