Hey guys,

You know that I have been pretty miserable for the past few weeks. I appologize for all of the vents and griping. I have a little hope of starting to feel better. But I will tune down the gripping, lol. Thanks for all of the support and understanding through all of this. It really means a lot.

It turns out that I will be going back into the hospital on Tuesday. I have to weam myself off of some of my meds the next couple days and then we will be starting completely over with new meds. SO I am hoping that I can get to feeling better. I won't have a computer again, but I will let you know how things go as I can.

THanks again guys, I just can't beat the love and support that I get around here! You guys are the best!

Alaura I am glad you are getting the help you need. You have been feeling misrible (ok, I can't spell). You have nothing to apoligize for. We are here to help, we are here to listen. If venting is what you need, vent away. I've done my share of it and then some.

Take care my friend,

Cindy

Alura,
I'm so glad you're have an avenue to hopefully get some help soon! As for the complaints, that's what we're here for. I've been doing a lot of that myself lately. I think we all have times in our lives where we just need someone to listen and not judge, and that's what we're here for. Hang in there!

There's no need to apologize. Listening and support it what we're all here for. I know I've been doing my share of whining and griping lately too. I really hope your next stay in the hospital will bring you some relief and will be more successful than the last time. I'm glad your doctor is doing everything he can to make you better.

Group Hug and Heart and we'll be here for you.

First of all, Alaura, you have nothing to apologize for!

Second of all, I'm glad that you're going to be back in the hospital where they can do something for the pain, and give you meds to make you more comfortable.

Pain is a horrible thing, but we're here- and we all know how awful that pain can make you feel- both emotionally and physically. We're here for you, and feel free to vent or ask for what you need... it's hard to do so sometimes, but, remember, we're here, should you need us!

Hey there, Alura!

Let me tell you how I see it. OK?

This is a place for sharing information AND support. Right? Right.

Now, when we get into "venting and griping," as you phrase it, I think there's VENTING, and then there's WHINING. Let me explain the difference.

VENTING: Someone comes in, posts about pain, problems, frustrations, etc. Get's it all out of their system. THEN, they keep learning, working with their doctor, getting a new doctor if necessary. In other words, they come post when they need to vent, then they get proactive and do something about it.

WHINING: Someone comes in, does the posting as above. They come in and do that over and over again. BUT, they never do anything about what's wrong. They don't get proactive; they don't learn anything; they don't have a heart-to-heart with their doctor.

I think venting is wonderful. It's healthy. It's necessary.
Whining, on the other hand, really accomplishes nothing. It doesn't help you make progress, and eventually, people will stop replying to whiners.

So, vent all you want. Use venting to get the frustration and anger out of your system. Use the posts to see what suggestions others may have for you. Then, sort through it all, and see what you can do with it.

How does that sound?

with a hug,

Well thanks guys. I did want to apologize since I was venting a lot, but its great to know I have your support and understanding. Good explanation between the 2 teri Wink I really am trying to do everything I can and stay proactive. I think that is where some of the frustration, since I wasn't getting anywhere. But at least I still have a little hope.

I am really nervous about going back again, but I am also a little relieved. I am so so ready to start feeling better. I hope this time around is a little more helpful. But hey, 3rd times a charm right? Fingers Crossed

THanks again for all of the support. Its so great that you all understand me. I am still feeling really rotten, so I am not online much. But I will update you all as I am able to. Thanks again! Love and hugs to you all!

Alaura,

You're doing a wonderful job of being proactive, and I'm proud of you.

I think we all get nervous about those appointments. Sometimes, I still do. I HATE to go to any doctor other than my Migraine doctors. It's awful. So, you're not alone.

Keep doing what you're doing, and vent when you need to!

It's tough to feel icky for long stretches of time. We get that. Most of us have been there, done that, and spent some amount of time feeling sorry for ourselves and our lot in life.

If there's one thing I know for certain after all this foruming stuff, though, it's that you can't break that ick cycle without DOING something about it. If you just passively accept the ick and do nothing, you're just asking it in, and it'll dig in deeper and perpetuate itself. If instead, you learn all you can, approach things with a positive attitude, find yourself a doctor who will be a partner with you on the journey, you can build all kinds of momentum to break the negative cycle.

I've seen you take things to heart that you've learned here. I've seen you commit to getting better. I've seen you work at it. And I've seen you post some successes, too. Keep on building on those! It's all a process, and it's not an instantaneous thing. It's not always easy, and often it's a bearcat, to be honest. But you'll get there. You're on the right track as long as you keep trying.

I am awake in the middle of the night again, so I thought I would stop back in here. I am glad I did. With it being another crummy week, I guess I didn't let all of the replies on here sink in. I took a look back at my post and all I can say is thank you all so much. I know I have said it before, but I am so thankful you all are here.

I really have learned so much just in the few months I have been on here. The support you all provide is amazing and all of the info I get really is helping me change my life with migraines. Granted I am really really crummy right now and my pain is still out of control, but I have learned so much that will help me manage this the rest of my life. Its really leading me to take control of my life again. I am so thankful for the learning experience and being able to recieve all the love and support.

I have even let out some of my "uglier" sides on here, lol. But you all understand and support me just the same. I can't wait until I feel alittle better and can get online a little more. I will be able to reciprocate some of what you all share with me Wink

Thanks again guys, you really are the best!

Alaura--

I am sorry that you are feeling so awful. But way to go on being proactive and getting the help you desperately need. You are doing what needs to be done by taking care of YOU!!!! I hope that your hospital stay helps you to get closer to the life that you want to have.

I complain on here as well, I think that is part of what the group is about. I agree with you about learning from everyone here. There are terrific people here that help us deal with the stress of living with migraine disease.

I will be keeping you in my thoughts next week. Keep us updated when you are able.

Take care Heart Group Hug

Alaura,

Sweetie, you have grown so much since coming here, and that's good. You keep learning, and that's the best thing any of us can do to fight this beast. The more we know, the better able we are to work with our doctors.

I'm going to be gone for a week due to a death in the family, but I'll be thinking about you!
