Anybody got a really good set of tools? Or maybe a guillotine? I'm about ready for a head amputation here... Head Banging

This is the migraine from you-know-where. It's been 4 days, with a brief drop in pain that I think was a break in the migraine--but I'm really not sure.

To top it off, I'm so stressed over this head pain that I've been clenching my teeth like crazy! Now my jaw seems to have click-clacked out of place and I can't even close my mouth the whole way. (The muscles will settle down on their own with damp heat...IF I can just quit hurting and clenching my teeth!!!)

UGGGGHHH!! Make it go away!!! Crying

Jenny- have you spoken with your doctor? Are they helping you in anyway? Maybe you need to seek emergency help.. You are past the 72 hour "rule".

I am thinking of you and hoping you can find some relief real soon dear Heart

Hi, Jenny, I'm so sorry this migraine's caught you.

Get yourself to the ER and get something done about your migraine.

Then come back to us for plenty more hugs. And if it's broken, we'll celebrate with a cake!

Take care of yourself. Group Hug Flower

I can SO relate- those kind of migraines are so horrible- you need some serious medical attention from your doctor or emergency room- in my case that was the only way those kind of migraines could be stopped. I hope you get some help- please let us know what happens!

Hi everyone,

I sure do appreciate all of your support! When things feel rotten, it's definitely nice to know you all are out there with hugs and happy messages. You guys mean the world to me. Smiler Group Hug

Well, last evening turned into a rough night. I was throwing up about every 10 minutes for 5 or 6 hours. Finally, just before midnight, I decided I'd had enough. So I made a trip to the ER.

I waited over 3 hours in the waiting area--lots or screaming babies and drunks. I threw up the entire time (ick. There is no place worse to throw up than in the ER. Germ central.) Oh, and they have the TV blaring AND the musak playing on the PA system... Hair Raising No quiet place in the whole waiting area.

I sat down and then a group of loud ladies waiting for a relative to be treated sat near me. They went to the vending area and bought every smelly snack they could find. I threw up as soon as the smells hit me.

Then they took me to the treatment bays where I waited another 2 hours. (A couple of auto accidents came in by ambulance.) By this point I was just crying quietly. I really didn't know what to do with myself.

They gave me pain meds and nausea meds. I asked about anything else that might break the cycle, but they were unwilling to use DHE or decadron (the doctor said they are too hard on my liver). They also refused to give magnesium sulfate. (No reason given for that refusal--just that it's not part of their protocol.) The doc told me that migraine patients get pain meds and nausea meds. Period. ( Mad)

The IV meds settled things down a little. I got home at 7AM feeling very tired but with little pain.

When I woke up at 9AM, though, the blasted migraine was back. I knew it would be...The pain meds just cover things up but don't stop my migraine.

I called my doc this morning to see if they have any other ideas. (I tried a medrol pack already--no improvement.) They'll get back to me this afternoon.

Now I'm going for a nap.

Just wanted you all to know I'm still alive and kicking!
I'm down in the dumps right now, but I'm going to find something to stop this migraine...I'll take a flight to my doc's office for IV therapy if I need to!

Jenny I'm glad you are a bit better, though temporarily this morning. Is there any chance your neurlogist would work with your local GP or internist to order IV treatment locally for you if that is what is needed? It just seems like a flight and such would add so much stress to you. It's just a thought to consider and to keep you closer to home through this.

Hope you can rest.

Oh Jenny! I wish you were all good to go and that blasted migraine would leave you the heck alone!!!

Cindy that is a wonderful idea about seeing if the doctors can coordinate an IV treatment - good call on that one!

That would rock if you could do that Jenny, instead of having to get on a plane.

Any chance your doctor can have you do your own IV's for the really bad ones? Since your ER doesn't have DHE as part of their procedure Devil - seriously - they are asking for drug seekers with that answer! I would - and I know you would too! Much rather have that then a narcotic.

Oh I hope you are feeling better by the time you read this my dear!!!

Tons and tons of hugs coming your way!!!!

Hi Jenny,

I am glad you went to the ER, but it does not sound as if it help stop the migraine. Cindy has a great idea to have your nuerologist work with your local GP to order IV treatment locally.

Sending you lots of hugs Group Hug Heart Group Hug and thinking about you today. Let us know how you are doing and what your doc says when you feel up to it, k?
