Well, I've got the migraine blues tonight. I know it's just a symptom of the disease due to seratonin depletion, but I'm going to vent anyway.

I hate this disease. I hate being sick. I feel so lousy. I want to be well. When will I ever be well again? This is so not fair. I've been so healthy and self-sufficient and successful and independent my whole life. And now I've barely been out of the bedroom, much less the house for five long months. (Don't worry, I'm seeing a specialist and we have a treatment plan and I'm not usually negative, but right now I'm venting, okay?)

My head hurts, the light hurts, the littlest noise bothers me. I can't read, I can't watch TV. I can't even take a shower without triggering a migraine (don't worry, I take baths with the lights dimmed). This is not an acceptable life. I hate it. I really really do. (Don't worry, I know it will get better, it always does, but right now I'm venting, okay? Oh, did I say that already??!!)

I have no appetite. My plants are dying. I haven't played the piano in weeks. My friends are so understanding, but I haven't seen them in months. My family is so understanding, but ditto. I don't even have enough energy to have a pet to take care of. I just look at pix of cute kitties on the web.

Yes, I'm feeling very sorry for myself. By tomorrow I'll be fine, but while I feel this way, I wanted to post it, so that all the rest of you out there that feel this way will know YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

How's that for finding a positive aspect of a negative situation? I am grateful for my ability to see the good in life. It makes all the difference.

But right now I'M VENTING!!!!!

Hi Laura Sue,

Vent away. It absolutely stinks being in the dark, dank, hole of pain. Hang in there, it will get better.

Oh, and I forgot to say, I'm hearing the phantom music again! At least it sounds like the kind of music I like!!!!!

Valerie, you're very welcome, glad you related to it!

Nancy and Cindy, thanks for your support, I really appreciate it. And I'm already feeling a little better -- the seratonin level must be creeping back up toward normal again.

Oy, what a crazy disease we have!

LauraSue - Even in your pain, sadness, in what Nancy called
quote:
the dark, dank, hole of pain
you still have wit, humor and perspective. Way to go girl.

Aww, LauraSue. I'm sorry you're not feeling well tonight. You put into words so well what I think a lot of us feel.

I'd post a picture of my cute kitty for you, but I don't have any on this computer. But he's crouching over there in my avatar! And I'll pet him for you later when he calms down.

I case you need a cat to curl up with in the future, here is Carmel. He likes to curl up at the foot of the bed or at your knees. He purrs a bit loudly, but really, it's nicer than snooring and rather soothing.

Cindy, he's absolutely precious!!! Thank you for posting the picture. Our cat was a really loud purrer too. We called her the "purrolater."

Nancy, I'm doing fine today, thanks for asking. The mood is just a symptom and always goes away. Today, I just have a three-day migraine hangover, but that's another vent entirely!!

I'm glad you're better, Laura Sue. I detest those long, drawn-out migraine beasties that make me owly after a while. Nobuddy likes that feeling. Group Hug
