Poor MJ! I'm sorry the Topa is causing so many problems for you. Maybe it would be okay if it was at least preventing your migraines, but it isn't even doing that!

I agree w/ Cindy that I hope your home relaxing today, even though I know you probably aren't. I hope at least work isn't going too badly.

Hang in there! Only 21 days to go.... We are always here for you when you need us!

MJ,

Hang in there honey Group Hug Heart Group Hug I am glad to hear that you are tapering down the topa. I sorry you are having so many problems with it. I had the same problems when I went from 50mg to 75mg. It was terrible. I went back down to 50mg. My doc eventually wants me off but wants to wait until we find something else that works, since the topa is working a little for me. But it sounds like the topa is not helping you.

I think it is a great idea to talk to the new doc about a new preventive. Hopefully, just tappering down to 50mg with get rid of alot of the side effects. Keep us posted.

Only 21 days to go!!! We love ya MJ...One day at a time

Yeah, I am at work today. I could have used the day off but there are a few things that needed to get done, including my timesheet. Maybe it's a weak excuse, but there it is. I still struggle a lot with deciding when I should take time off and try only to do it if I'm in a lot of pain. I may leave early though. I really just want to go home and lay down on the couch. Cindy, Kat, Dar, Nut, Valerie and Droolie, thanks for your hugs and support today. I'm doing ok tonight so far. I'm still feeling somewhat depressed and moody, but the anxiety I had last night is mostly gone, thank goodness.

I'm going to curl up on the couch with DBF and Madcat before going to bed. I'll surely be happy when this week is over and I'm that much closer to seeing my new doctor.

Our new insurance plan is in effect as of tomorrow, which means I can call my EAP and get a referral to a therapist. Only three sessions are covered through that, but that may at least help me until I see my new doc.

I'm trying to hang in there - the pain hasn't been too bad, just all these other symptoms are really tiring me out. Thanks again, ladies. Heart

Ugh - I couldn't fall asleep again last night. Horrible nausea, even after taking some promethazine. This is as bad as my nausea used to be last fall, before I did acupuncture. Hopefully I'm not falling into that pattern again, and this is just a temporary thing caused by the Topa. I had horrible insomnia last year, along with vertigo and nausea and all three fed off each other, not to mention the head pain.

I'm just so drained, emotionally and physically. I don't want to be sick or depressed any more. I don't want to think about migraines any more. I don't want to have to devote so much energy just to getting through the day, but I don't have much choice right now. I'm just feeling very resentful of the migraine beastie today, and how much it has robbed from me. Frowner

Thanks for the hugs, Eileen. I'm really trying to stay optimistic about all of this, but I know I don't have to tell you guys how hard that is sometimes. Or a lot of the time.

My head started hurting a few hours ago the way it does when I'm going to have a bad pain day. I took some GelStat Migraine to try to head it off - we'll see if it works.

My quality of life is just completely in the toilet right now. I know it can be better than this. I just don't know how I can get there. Or even what it feels like not to be in pain all the time.

Depending on how I'm feeling I may call out tomorrow. It's just so hard to keep enduring all of this. I'm not going to give up, by any means, but it is really really hard to keep going. Frowner

Well ya know I'm a huge advocate of starting the weekend early!! Big Wink

I just ordered some Gelstat Migraine myself! I'm going to try it out and see how it goes. I have not tried it before. Everytime I'd go to order it, they'd be all out.

I hope it works for you my dear!!!

Big hugs!!! Group Hug Group Hug Heart Heart

M.J.

Hang in There. I promise not to let anyone flush the toilet!!! It WILL go by day by day, hour by hour. I'm a firm believer in early days when you do have to go to work. When I was having a rough time, that was my ONLY salvation.

Am praying for you as usual.

I did leave early today, at 4:30 instead of my usual 6 (I work 9-6). I came home and laid down for about an hour and it did help. If I'm not feeling up to it tomorrow I think I will call out, or just work half the day. I sent an email to one of the HR women about FMLA to see if I can get that process started. That way if we have any specific forms I need filled out I can bring them with me to my first appointment with my new doc. I also requested records from my very first neuro, and picked up my records from my second neuro. That, at least, feels like I'm doing something while I'm waiting for my appointment.

The GelStat seemed to help head off the worst of the pain. Normally the migraine would have turned into the severe, 7-8 range by the afternoon, and it didn't. I still felt pretty yucky, but the pain hasn't gotten up that high. I'll be ordering more of the GelStat. It's at least something.

This Saturday afternoon I'm treating myself to a pedicure at my nearby beauty salon. I'm going to a wedding in a few weeks, so having pretty feet is somewhat of a necessity. Wink And I can use the pampering!

Having you guys here for me is really helping me get through this. Knowing I have this support network helps keep me from freaking out about the next few weeks between now and my appointment. Thanks for being here. You all are the best. Heart
