I just read "The Migraine Cure." Thumbs Down
We'll have a review of it online soon. Bottom line though -- don't waste your money!

BD,
Cool! I just got Teri's book today i'm looking forward to reading it through and knowing it frontwords and backwards.

Teri,
Thank you for the notice. I remember you saying that anything that says the word Cure, don't bye it or waste your time getting it because there is no cures for migraines! (something along those basis)

Hi Jamie. I know this a very old post, but I was looking for something new to read. I have also read Paule Kamen's book. I loved it. It was funny as well as informative and comforting in a way. Did you like it?

I am reading for Migraine for Dummies.

Of course I have Teri's book and another one called Women's Migraine Survival Guide by Christina Peterson.

For what it's worth, I like The Complete Idiot's Guide to Migraines and Other Headaches way better than the Migraines for Dummies book.

Of course, neither of them is Teri's book! I am a little partial! Smiler

Well, it isn't a "migraine" book so much as an inspirational book called Tuesday with Morrie. It has taken me forever to get through the book not because it is long but because I know how it will end.

In fact, I am bringing it to my appt today. But, I just ordered Teri's Living Well with Migraine Disease Big Grin

I have just finished "All in my head". It was a good read, but did not "capture me" as much as I wanted it to.

One of my most recent NEW reads is HOW DOCTORS THINK by Jerome Groopman, MD. Since getting our doctors to really listen and developing a good working relationship with our physicians is of paramount importance to successful treatment of migraines, I found his book a fun read, amusing, and it helped to put the lack of communication between patient and doctor (not just if you have migraines) into better perspective. I also developed some ideas to improve communication from this book. It was on the best-seller list at one point last year. Ought to be required reading for medical students, again when they're residents, and again once they graduate!!!!!

Hi everyone!!!

Once again, sorry to be away for a bit. You know how these migraines go...ugh!

I think it's funny-in an ironic sort of way...I have most of these books on migraines, but after dealing WITH my migraines so much of the time, the LAST thing I want to do is read about migraines when I'm feeling well enough to actually concentrate!

Talk about a catch-22! The one book my sister made me PROMISE her to read WAS Paula Kamen's book, which I thought was "funny" in a pitiful way. I did actually laugh out loud.

Anyway, I like true stories that suck me in, and are funny to boot!
