Good morning!

I stayed up too late last night. Where was Mom to come gripe at me and make me go to sleep? Mildly headachy this morning, majorly spacey too. Need to go take all my meds & such & try to keep the migraine away. Can't keep a thought in my head for long tho. I need a director - who can find what I can't in my brain and then tell me what to do with it. Okay - pills - hot shower - move slow - what has to be dealt with - what can be put off... I can do it for other people but can't do it for myself... I feel like the scarecrow from Wizard of Oz ... if I only had a brain...

Geez - look what month I made it on the thread! Welcome to month 24!

- Megs

Ooooh, there must be something in the NJ air today! (other than the usual hahah!) I am having the same morning Nut.

I'm soooo spacey right now! And headachy Frowner I'm trying to stay positive, but I'm pretty sure a migraine is on it's way. I'm still in denial though!

If it makes you feel better, I didn't even realize 24 wasn't a month til you pointed it out. Wink

Megs & Kat,

I don't know if it's anything to do with NJ or not, but I feel the same way down here in TX. I can't figure out if it's going to be a migraine kinda of day or not. I just don't feel right.

I had crazy dreams last night when I was able to actually sleep. I had a really restless night. In fact, the last few nights I haven't slept well. Not sure what that is all about.

I hope others are feeling better than I am. Need some cheering up! Flower

Well it's made it to the air in Northern CA too. I've got a sinus HA this morning and had to be human, or at least speak intelligently for a 7 am presentation. Whose idea was that? Oh yeah, I had input as to the time.

We leave tonight around 7 pm for Southern CA for the weekend. I am looking forward to it. A friend is coming with me and will help with the driving. We get to tour UCLA tomorrow with DD as our guide. She is excited to show off her school for next year.

I'm tired. I need some time this weekend to organize my thoughts to determine if I need to go into the doctor and if so which doctor. I believe much of what is going on has to do with allergies and it should be my PCP. But I need to think about this clearly. My friend going will help me sort through it.

Need to go. The presentation is wrapping up and I need to say something whitty.

I think it's fair to say a major weather front is over EVERYWHERE causing havoc for EVERYONE. I didn't have a headache but I felt lethargic all day yesterday. Finally ended up taking a nap because I couldn't keep my eyes open. It messed up my sleep schedule last night.

We have to take the puppy to the vet this morning for a check and shots. She's been doing pretty good at night. She is getting more comfortable and testing the waters more. One of our other labs is getting annoyed with her wanting to play all the time. She is doing great in the bathroom area. The doggie door is a great thing!

Later tonight I will go to my book club meeting if I'm feeling good. I haven't gone in a couple weeks because I was in Nebraska. I will probably do some reading today as well.

Cindy, my husband is a UCLA grad so we visit frequently. The campus is lovely and the surrounding area is gorgeous. You'll love it!

Everyone else . . . take care and try not to let the beast get the best of you.

I'm holding my breath and not even breathing the air you all are breathing today!

Dh went back to work today. Frowner We had such a good time.

Kath has a chemistry test today and I've been praying she takes her time and feels confidence.

My aunt is back in the hospital - couldn't really breathe again yesterday. But her blood test showed the steroids are working on her kidneys - this fluid retention is probably the side effect of the steroids. She also had a heart arrhythmia last night, again, probably the steroids.

There is no way on this green earth we will be going to visit them in June. I might as well go ahead and sign Nikoli up for the science enrichment program in June.

Busy next couple of days - a social ministry meeting tonight at church and then Bible study tomorrow night. My sister and her husband want to take the kids for the day on Saturday, so we'll probably see a movie, and then lunch with friends Sunday afternoon. Whew, I'll need next week just to get over all that stuff. Wink

I'll report back on the movie; it's "Expelled" by Ben Stein. It's kind of like a documentary and he challenges academia on their strict and obsessive adherence to evolution and not giving "intelligent design" a chance. This was dh's choice but it sounds interesting.

Hi everyone- was up almost all night last night got up about 4 times, not just my usual 2. So frustrating! Head Banging I'm on week 4 of topamax, and just increased my dose to 3 tablets, so this may be a side effect. Anyway, pretty tired today. Hope everyone has a good day Blinking

Oh boy, bad night last night. Migraine pain spiked to an 8. I was basically useless on the couch - couldn't read, couldn't even knit. Mostly just stared at the tv. I couldn't take a darn thing other than some promethazine for the nausea and Tums to try to calm down my stomach. No abortives, and of course no rescue since my fired specialist wouldn't even discuss them with me. I iced my head, which reduced my pain enough to fall asleep, but I had weird dreams all night. Still feeling pretty ucky this morning, but I dragged myself in to work.

I'm feeling pretty abandoned by the medical community at the moment. I've posted about this in the Medications folder, but my neuro's best idea was a 6-day course of Frova, which I think will just give me MOH. My new specialist hasn't given me a call back. I plan to call my PCP today but I don't hold out much hope there. She's great but I don't know how much she knows about migraines.

Oh well. Enough venting for now. My pain is much more tolerable this morning. My new contacts seem to be helping with the photophobia, but the jury is still out if they're helping with fluorescents.

Back to work - sorry I can't respond to all of you, but I am thinking of all of you. Eileen, let's get our weekend started already!

Happy Thursday, everyone! Heart

Oh, no, everyone seems to be having a bad day. I'm so sorry to hear it.

My day is no worse than usual! How's that for looking on the bright side.

I've been thinking of moving my migraine updates back to the Vents folder or to a blog and just talking about non-migraine stuff here. It might help my attitude. So if you're wondering how I'm doing you can check there.

On non-migraine news, it's a beautiful sunny day here, going to be in the 70's today and tomorrow. I bet flowers all over town are busting out.

I have a few chores to attend to today, including updating my migraine diary.

DH is thrilled because his NY Rangers beat the NJ Devils last night. He has a busy day at work today, so he'll be home a little late.

The funniest thing, I've been hearing a violin from a neighboring apartment. Can't tell which one but I think upstairs. It's NOT an aural hallucination. It sounds like a beginner trying to play one note or two. There's a boy upstairs about the right age to be taking lessons, but he's not the type you'd expect to play violin. I used to play when I was in school. I still dream about it sometimes.

My, that was a nice cup of tea to share with everyone.

Feel better, okay?

Thanx for all the hugs for everyone, Kat. yep, messy day. Sorry to everyone who's hurting! Thanks to Eileen for fixing my date glitch. Than I saw that Tracie started a tea room thread before me this morning - got the date right and everything. I don't know how I managed to miss it - I'm feeling like I have broken Tea Room etiquette. Sorry Tracie!

I got me my migraine at 9 a.m. Took the Imitrex good and early and now most of the headpain seems to be gone. I worked on the computer for 2 hours and then walked into town for a lunch with a business associate - I knew I couldn't drive, but I figured I'd try walking. The weather couldn't be more perfect. Couldn't have done it with a more severe migraine, but with a mild one plus Imitrex the walk seemed to help quiet my head down. Never would have tried it but for Gretchen's suggestion! Thanx Gretchen! I'm still a little slow & fuzzy with head pain about a 2 I'd say, but it feels like it's on the way out.

Feel better all!

Very late hugs to all! I slept sort of late and have been doing other things. Today is OK so far, head-wise. But Sparky refused his pills in peanut butter. I tried butter, but that lasted for 2 pills. I can shove them down his throat, but that ruins both our days. I may try tuna fish.

I think what happened is that he bit down on his stool softener. It's a people pill that I take (OTC), but the vet has prescribed it for him. I made the mistake of biting one once, and they're nasty. I don't blame him for being suspicious. Any ideas?

70% chance of thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon. Whoopee.

I hope everybody survives the day, and that tomorrow is all peaches and roses.
