Warning - signs of forum addiction: saying "oh I'll just check in for a minute" and then looking up fifteen minutes later and realizing you're still not getting any work done! And then there's "no one has started a tea room thread yet, I'd better do it" even when you really should be working...
Well - there are worse things to be addicted to! Feeling pretty well this morning. Client at 11 and otherwise it's a desk-work day - pretty low stress. Snowing lightly outside and we're expecting snow, then ice, then rain, then ice, then rain. I'll be surprised if school isn't delayed tomorrow. Hope everyone's heads are treating them well. - Megs Free our brains from migraine pain my blog: www.meganoltmanfreemybrain.typepad.com E-course on Managing Life with Migraine at www.takebackyourlifefrommigraine.com |

I am not doing a blessed thing today except foruming, reading and knitting. I worked like a dog yesterday getting the house ready and food ready for Nikoli's birthday.
My body is so sore from my fibro. The sleep doctor is helping me with this; since the klonopin didn't work I'm curious to see what's up her sleeve next. We got the ice and snow predicted, but not a lot. Maybe a 1/2 inch? And my poor kids, they had school today. So we have enough leftovers for dinner tonight and I don't have to cook. I hear the couch calling my name! Deb [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] |

Hey all!
See, I'm sitting here at work waiting for all the fun ice and stuff to start because then I get to LEAVE and GO HOME! And that will be nice because I actually feel good for a change! Not as tired feeling today as yesterday - but still a bit sleepy. I kept waking up last night to a little kitty at my bedroom door wanting to come in! Hope everyone is doing well today! Be careful driving if you are in the yucky weather areas!!!!! Good morning everybuddy!
Well, we've had the snow already here! (Thank goodness--I've been waiting for a terrific snow!) Got about 4-5 inches so far and it's still coming down. Eileen, it should already be in your neck of the woods! Hope you get to go home soon! The kids had a snow day today, so we're getting ready to work on their valentines. Got lots of classmates this year, so we've got quite a bit of work to do! They also made nifty valentine boxes (you know, the ones we used to make when we were kids--shoeboxes covered with paper and decorated). My dog is sitting on the back of the love seat staring out the front window. She's practically begging to go outside! She's been out 6 or 7 times already today-she LOVES the snow. She kicks it all around and makes snowballs. Then she kicks the snowballs. It's pretty fun to watch. Deb, take it easy today! I'm glad things went well for Nikoli's party. You deserve a day off! Nut and Eileen, be careful if you're out in this weather. Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! |

How DO! I'm here before noon. Amazing.
Waiting for DS to call. He called at 5:18 this morning from school. He's got something that the school infirmary said yesterday isn't the flu. But his fever is spiking through the Tylenol to 103. So he was headed to the ER. The infirmary did a test and said it wasn't the flu. Joe has a sore throat, a cough, and his head hurts. The head might be from the fever. Poor kid. This is the second time he's been sick without Mom around. He had a pilonidal cyst in November and ended up in the ER. I offered to come down with the cyst to help dress it but was firmly but politely rejected. It's starting to rain. The dog and I haven't been out, so we may just get to make a bathroom trip and run back inside. My scalp is beginning to feel like it's shrinking, so it's Skelaxin time. Walked an hour yesterday. It looks like rain all afternoon, so it will be exercise bike today. Ice storms are the worst! We have no snow/ice equipment, so we get grounded. The ice can build up on the trees, especially the pine trees, and the branches fall on the power lines. In the Big Ice Storm about 18 years ago, some people didn't get their power back for 3 weeks. Lots of people (including us) have gas heat, but it's forced hot air and doesn't work when the power is out. A flurry of motions were filed yesterday in our judicial bribery scandal. I haven't had a chance to look at them. Lots of opportunities to waste time. I've got plenty of other things to do! Hope today is a good one! Gretchen in Mississippi |

Well, I am feeling completely awful today, mentally. The migraine pain isn't too bad yet (a 3), but I can't take any abortives until Thursday at the earliest. I'm hoping my 2 doses of Frova yesterday don't throw me into MOH.
Yesterday was a spectacularly bad day - insensitive coworker, project issues at work, migraine unresponsive to abortives, cranky DBF. To top all of that off, I called my insurance company to find out what the holdup is about approving the Botox (it's been over a month now), and found out they haven't yet received anything from the headache clinic. I'm definitely feeling depressed today - I'm sure the low serotonin levels in my brain are not helping things. I'm trying not to dwell on yesterday's problems but I just can't get myself into gear today. I seriously considered calling out of work today, but I can't afford to waste my time off on days the migraine isn't that bad. -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ “HOPE CAN GROW FROM THE SOIL OF ILLNESS!” This is the theme of 2008’s National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week in September. I sorta want some bad weather, I would than have an excuse to curl up under the covers or fix nice hot comfort food. We'll still have meatloaf tonight. DS will come home from dinner with the pitchers and catchers and eat like he was not fed (oh to be 16 again!!) and make his grandmother laugh at his silly stories and jokes. She just gets me and her grandaughter for dinner. So a girls night.
MJ is there anything we can offer to help you mentally? Throwing darts at the guy from work, making chicken soup, helping you with mental images of your wonderfully relaxing images of your weekend to come? I just want to amputate my neck. The migraine is pretty well gone, but my neck will not stop hurting. I've been going around the house with a neck wrap. It's just the right weight and I can keep it warm. Helps alot, but drat, it won't go away. I took fioricet for the first time today in ages. While the imitrex got rid of the worst of the migraine, the nausea remained. Vicidon or more imitrex don't really do much for that. Fioricet has always been good for that. Usually relaxes me too. I'm relaxed, but not my neck!!! Ok, I have yet another conference call to take. Oh joy. Cindy |

Hmm, throwing darts at Mr Insensitive sounds great! I'm trying to think positive, to think of the wonderful vacation coming up, but darn it if the beastie won't stop coming!! I'm letting myself get way too wound up today. I just reread an email I sent out and realized some of what I said in there didn't actually make sense. I hate when the beastie starts messing with my concentration. Really, all I want to do is go home, change into my pjs and lay on the couch. Too bad I'm still stuck at work until 6. Blech. -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ “HOPE CAN GROW FROM THE SOIL OF ILLNESS!” This is the theme of 2008’s National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week in September. Hey MJ - It's 6 here in NJ - your home state, right? Does that count?
I wish you could go home right now - maybe it's a five minutes at a time day. You hang in there. We love you very much! - Megs Free our brains from migraine pain my blog: www.meganoltmanfreemybrain.typepad.com E-course on Managing Life with Migraine at www.takebackyourlifefrommigraine.com |

Aww, thank you, Megs! I wish that I could go home now too! (And yes, NJ is my home state!) It is definitely a few minutes at a time day. Finally some good news though - I called the headache scheduler again just now. She actually answered her phone!! (Normally I just get her voice mail.) She said she would call my insurance right away and find out what the hold up is, and refax my info if she needs to. Hopefully she'll give me a call back this afternoon. The good news is, once I'm approved I won't have to wait longer than a week to get in for Botox - Dr A has Tuesdays dedicated specifically to Botox treatments and they're not usually full. Thank goodness! I also called their nurse triage line and left a somewhat desperate message - saying I want to start the Topa ASAP and finding out if they can do anything for my migraines - I'm up to a 5-6/10 (it comes and goes) and I don't have anything I can take. *sigh* I do already feel mentally better, between some forum time and making those calls. I just need to hold out a little while longer, then I can go home and put today behind me. -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ “HOPE CAN GROW FROM THE SOIL OF ILLNESS!” This is the theme of 2008’s National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week in September. Gretchen did you hear from your DS? And what is going on with the judicial bribery scandal? Maybe we could get a good book out of it? There appears to be writers on these forums?
MJ did you make it home? I have other ideas of imagiry that would bring a smile to your face about Mr. Insensitivity if you need help. The list is just long and endless. Cindy |

Yes, Cindy, I did make it home. I ended up leaving work at 5:30 instead of 6. I'm feeling much better than I was earlier today, so that's good!
Any imagery you can give me is always welcome. I sit next to Mr Insensitive so I have to deal with him every day! -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ “HOPE CAN GROW FROM THE SOIL OF ILLNESS!” This is the theme of 2008’s National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week in September. MJ - this is not funny imagery, but I imagine myself encased in a silver shield that reflects back any negative energy sent my way (but it lets the good energy in). so Mr. Insensitive's icky vibe just reflects right back on him, leaving you glowing and beautiful.

Oooh, I like that one, Megs. I'll definitely be using that in the future.
BTW I'm taking a page from your book and incorporating relaxation exercises into my day. I bought a CD that my biofeedback therapist did, which I'm putting on my iPod so I can listen to it in my room at night before I go to sleep (I have an iPod dock and I usually listen to music). -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ “HOPE CAN GROW FROM THE SOIL OF ILLNESS!” This is the theme of 2008’s National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week in September.
