Good very early Sunday morning,

I'm not sure why I keep waking up so early, must be the dining room's fault. It is haunting me Wink. Paulie and I finally finished with 45 minutes to spare before the steamer had to be returned.

We were in a frenzy and started throwing wallpaper peelings everywhere. It looked like a soggy, sticky ticker tape parade (say that three times fast) had gone through the dining room and the living room. But, the wallpaper is down, I repeat, the wallpaper is down!! Now all that is left...wipe up the paper that stuck to the walls, spackle, sand, prime, prime again, paint, paint again. My hopes of having it all done by tonight may be shattered. LOL. Seriously, I'll be taking my time when it comes to painting. No reason to stress over it. It will still be there.

I'm not sure what my plans are for today other than the dining room. I need to go food shopping and DH and kids want to see Iron Man. I read yesterday's tea room's comments about it but I still want to see it. I love sci-fi and who can resist a superhero with Black Sabbath as his theme song?

Have a beautiful and pain free day everyone!!

Good Morning--

Just a quick check-in before I head off to work. Have to allow an hour to get there this am.

The Derby party was a whole lot of fun yesterday. There are always a whole lot of people there who we don't get to see often. Thank goodness the race is the climax of the party, because the dreadful tragedy of the filly's death surely put a pall over the festivities. Most of us are horse people and none of us race horses. In fact, in general, we aren't really in favor of racing horses as young as 3 years old, because it's like asking a middle schooler to be in the Olympics. Even in gymnastics I can't be sure it's the best of ideas physically. It's so hard on the body. Thoughbred breeders breed for small bone too. She was such a delicate looking thing. Guess her legs were as delicate as they looked! We break our horses to saddle at 3 y/o, but don't really put them to work until they're 5 and mature. That way you end up with a horse that can do full work well into his 20s barring other accidents.

Off to work.

Good Morning Everyone,

Yes Tracie, while I have always ridden, I have not been around a racing set at all. What you say makes perfect sense. It was so tragic. My SIL, who rides (jumps), MIL and I were watching and we were shocked.

I just want to say a quick good morning. I am going outside. I have been puttering around inside too long and not getting anyting done outside. It's not horridbly warm yet (48), but you know, I'm not some hot house flower and I've got a sweatshirt and gloves to wear!!

I'm going back over to MIL's to finish up later and also have a bunch of little errands to do while I'm out. Need to hit the nursery again. Maybe "need" isn't the right word, want would be better!!

Happy Sunday everyone.

Cindy

Hi guys -

I have to say I'm feeling a little down this morning. Maybe I'll cheer up by the end of this post. Otherwise look for me in the vents folder!

I think going out Friday night, Saturday eating breakfast late and therefore no real lunch, 2+ hours in the garden and then going out to a movie when I was feeling very fatigued was not a good combination. Oh, and then the movie being loud bright super-hero action with lots of explosions... Overall I thought Iron Man was pretty good for it's type, fun - but I'd have to be really well rested to get through it without head pain. I will say I brought big wrap-around sunglasses & ear plugs - and put them on when it got towards the climax and got louder and flashier! I never would have thought of that but for many discussions here. I may have looked silly but it really helped - I could hear the dialog just fine but it took the edge of the really loud stuff.

Anyway, I had a mild Migraine by the time we got home. I didn't take anything, I just went to bed, though not as soon as I should have. It's still hanging around this morning - very mild, just reminding me that it's there. As of last night I finally moved past the too-many-triptans-in-the-last-week mark, so I can take Imitrex today without worrying. supposed to take Rachel out shopping, though, so I'm going to try to wait and do that first. We'll see. I won't be stupid about it. Danny can take her if need be.

Well Ms. Rach just made her appearance. I'm going to take a shower and see how I am. Hopefully I'll manage to get out with her - i get so little time with her these days and she cheers me up. Hi to Laura, Tracie & Cindy, I'll check back later to talk to you all more.

Good morning, french vanilla coffee again. Trying to ward off the sleepiness/goofiness from a muscle relaxer before we go to friends' house for lunch. Funky chairs, droolie knows the drill.

Laura, go see Iron Man, you will not be disappointed. I thought Robert Downey Jr. was an odd choice, but not now. Oh, and when you're sanding, try to seal off the room if you can. Dh divided our family room a few years ago to make a third bedroom and he did some mad sanding while the kids and I were out of town and, needless to say, we came home to a MAJOR mess. I hate home remodeling.

Tracie, I was sad when the filly had to be put down, too. I didn't realize their age and how they were bred could've played a part in it.

Megs, I don't know what previews you saw before Iron Man, but we saw a preview for a new M. Night Shamalan (spelling?) movie that was so loud it shook the whole theater. I told dh I was doomed if Iron Man was that loud, but it was ok. We like scifi so much I'll put up with some loudness.

Like I said, lunch with friends this afternoon - it's dh's old boss (whose business folded in 2005). Good people and I'm glad we're still in touch.

Gotta clean the bathroom, kitchen and fold laundry before we go.

Have a good day, everyone. I miss you all.

Well, it's 12:30 here, so I can't say Good Morning. BTW, does anybody know what time zone the time stamp on posts is?

Haven't been here in a couple of days. General stuff called. Can't remember what. Head has been wavering between 0 and 4-5, mostly 0 to 1 or 2. I'll take that in a New York minute.

I didn't watch the Derby -- forgot about it -- and I'm glad I missed the tragedy. It's a shame for Big Brown that he didn't get all the attention he deserved. I also didn't know the problems with racing 3 y/o horses. But with two recent deadly fractures, you have to wonder. Did the condition of the track have anything to do with it, I wonder.

My garden calls as well. I've decided to plant a little corn. Only 4 or 5 stalks, with 3 varieties, an early, a middle season, and a late. I'm about out of room in my dedicated garden, but I'm going to plant in empty spaces in my other landscaping. Let the neighbors talk about the corn in the middle of my daylilies.

Megs -- my rebound avoidance clock re-sets on Sundays. Sometimes Friday and Saturday are rough, if I'd had trouble early on in the week. It's such a bummer to have to choose relief now or planning for the future. Who invented rebound, anyway?

Deb -- glad to see you! I hope things are going well.

About remodeling -- we did some minor remodeling several years ago. Moved the front door to where a window was and turned the entry hall into a closet off the master bedroom. Complete with hardwood floor and beveled glass light fixture! It was a mess.

After that was finished, we repainted the whole house. We'd been there for about 17 years, and I was "beiged out." We hired someone to do it and actually stayed in one of those all-suites hotels until the paint was dry. I couldn't have stood it with my paint fumes trigger.

Hint -- when your dog stops taking his pills in peanut butter, and then stops taking them in cheese balls, try fava bean dip from the Mediterranean Grill. He loves it. I hope he keeps loving it for awhile. I'm about out of ideas. He's feeling better. He got Mike to get on the floor for a game of Bad Dog and Armpit Hug. For the first time in about 18 months. The Miralax seems to be helping. I'm trying to get the dosage right for him.

Have a great day! Highs around 80 this week, with no rain in the forecast.

Hi -
Back from shopping with Rachel. We found everything she needed at Kohl's. Me in there in my wrap-around sunglasses. Sometimes the shopping gods are just with you. She needed a cardigan, panty-hose, and ballet flats for the play she's in next weekend. It's Much Ado About Nothing, and they're doing it with 40's theme. She got a great 40's style dress from the costume stock but had to buy the accessories. We found everything she needed in about 30 minutes flat. Then she bought me these really pretty sandals - beaded thong sandals, with a 2" heel. I never wear heels! But they certainly are cute, and in rust & red beads that are totally my colors. It made her very happy to buy them for me as a top secret surprise Mother's Day gift. Next Sunday I just have to act surprised and then teeter around on them for a few hours! Wink

Deb I hope you enjoy the lunch with friends. BTW I could totally identify with your struggles with Nikoli - we've had the same kind of bald-faced lying from Adam sometimes about homework. We have had to get ourselves in the habit of checking everything every day. One more thing to stay on top of. Roll Eyes

Cindy have fun working outside. I was out in a sweatshirt yesterday, too. It's not bad to not get overheated, actually!

Tracie - how shocking about that filly! It must be even harder to watch that when you're horsey people yourselves and have real opinions about how to prevent things like that! Eeker

Laura good luck with your sanding/painting. Take it a little bit at a time!

Now that my running around duty is over I took an Imitrex & I'm lying down. Working on the "take at first sign" theory, though the first sign was last night, it's still very mild but i want to knock it out! Fingers Crossed The day is turning very pretty so if I lie down a couple of hours I may be able to garden a little before night.

Morning all. I'm in here late again since I didn't get out of bed until about 10:30. It's a beautiful day here today, so I'm hoping my head holds out. I need to get over to the mall to return some clothes and hopefully get some shoes for my friend's wedding in a few weeks. I'm not in it, but I need some cute sandals/flats to go with my dress.

DBF and I ended up making a Craigslist run last night. We've been looking for some sort of furniture for our hall outside our kitchen and I found the perfect bookshelves, made in Denmark, in beautiful shape for being about 40+ years old. I haven't been checking CL very often lately since my head hasn't been feeling well enough for extensive computer time, but I checked last night and found these shelves almost immediately! So we went to pick them up. Madcat is now sniffing every square inch of them.

We still haven't hung our new drapes. We need to do that today, now that we've taken down the vertical blinds in our bedroom. Our whole apartment faces west, and now that it's sunny season it gets very bright here in the afternoons. We had to take down the blinds to put up the curtains, but that's on the top of the list today. My contribution will be ironing - DBF will be hanging the rods and curtains.

I'm sure I won't remotely get everything done today that I want to - I never do - but that's ok! I'm used to it by now. Just having some sunshine on the weekend is wonderful.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Sunday. Heart

Hi everyone!

I have good news, I actually did not get a mig yesterday. I'm astonished and delighted. But today I feel "too" good, which means prodrome, which means mig coming.

It is gorgeous here again, 70's and sunny. I still don't have the energy for my window boxes but I did do some indoor plant tending today. First time in months.

DH is watching the Ranger game as we speak, but they are already losing 2-0 so I don't think it will end well. He said dinner depends on how he feels about the Rangers! (Our spaghetti and clam sauce last night was scrumptious as usual.)

Me, I'm still trying to catch up on newspapers after falling so far behind. I also need to update my meds list inventory to see what I need to buy. And my bad, still haven't updated the mig diary. So that's all more than enough to keep me busy today AND tomorrow.

Just noticed my ticker is at 2mo 2wks! YAY!! But it feels like my bod is trying to ovulate. I really don't want another period. BOO!!

Have a blessed Sunday!

Good Afternoon,

Well I am about "potted" out. I've been cleaning out pots on the patio. Things are looking good. Went to the nursery. Always lovely.

I got pitures from the prom last night, DS. He looked so handsome. His date was darling too. Her dress could have been longer.....perhaps covering her bottom!!! I should attach a pic. I'm sure I'm over reacting. She is much nicer than his date last year and his age!!

Ok, I need to clean up my mess outside and get on to other stuff. Take care everyone.

Afternoon yall!
I have missed the tea room! I havnt posted much, as I have been so busy! by the time I finally get on to lurking around the forum, most yall are in bed! Zzzz'z

gwp, I think the time zone listed is your current time zone. Like MJ and I are west coast, so all the times posted are in PST. I show that you posted at 10:48 AM. whats yours say? curious now!

MJ, I LOVE craigslist. We have both bought and sold many things on it! Like you though, I havnt been on it much either. Mostly due to crazy busy end of year racing around! I am trying to sell a motorized chair(like a Rascal) for mom and dad that they arent using. There isnt a medical devices catagory though, and have gotten NO hits on it. The ad has expired now, so I will need to repost. Shoot I sold a car and motorcycle in 1 day though!

Anyway, I am lookign forward to Friday! My mom, grandma sis and I are going to a salon. My mom and sis are getting me a facial for my birthday. I have never done that, Im not the girly girl type, so I dont do things like that LOL But its gonna be fun! and they do a neck and face massage with it so thats gonna feel nice on my migrainey head!

Ok enough rambling, Im off do do SOMETHIGN in this for once beautiful day! YES we have (dare I say it aloud..) SUN!! its a rare comodity here in Washington, so gonna go enjoy it!

Not a lot going on here. Church, out to lunch after, and then out to get a haircut.

Laura ~ I would so be there to help you paint iffin I could. We could have it done in no time.

Tracie ~ I'm glad you had fun at your festivities. That is sad about the horse they had to put down yesterday. I caught the tail end of the race on TV, but had come back to the puter before she collapsed. So sad.

Cindy ~ Hope you ended up with a sunny, warm day. Outside's pretty nice here again today.

Megs ~ Good luck with the shopping trip, and the cheer gathering. *sends out some cheery vibes, attached to scaly smooshes, so they'll stick*

Deb ~ UGH! NOT FUNKY CHAIRS!!! My heart goes out to you, as well as my shoulders and back. May your pre-emptive strike against it work wonders.

Gretchen ~ What? Corn doesn't naturally grow next to day lilies? Who knew? Smiler Glad Sparky's doing better.

MJ ~ Energy hugs! Lots of 'em. I agree on the sunshine. I've had my fill and then some of grey, overcast skies.

Laura Sue ~ You know, that feeling too good thing can come with postdrome, too. I'll hope with every ounce that is droolie that it's that as opposed to prodrome.

Tawsha ~ Enjoy that sun!

I'm having a very forum day - I guess I just need y'all's company today. Imitrex took care of my migraine. I know I should adjust the ticker but can't be bothered.

Droolie thanks for the scaly smooshes they are very sticky indeed. Hope you are having a nice quiet day.

Tawsha great to see you. Enjoy your sunshine. My Rach says if you mention the weather in any way, even hint at it, it will turn bad - so i hope it's not jinxed!

Gretchen I missed you earlier. I didn't get to garden today but Danny went nuts planting strawberries. We had a beautiful strawberry bed at our old house - we've been here 2 1/2 years now but haven't done new beds until this year. Funny about the "rebound clock" - I've been doing a rolling 7 days which is harder to keep track of - but I think gives me more options!

LauraSue so glad for your mig free day yesterday! I wish I could send you many more.

I've been folding the laundry & trying to watch the Mets on tv but my cable company has changed the line-up again - annoying - and I can't find TBS. I'm goign to take a gentle walk for some fresh air and then I'm going to go make Danny very happy and sew the curtains for our bathroom. (I did one window about a year ago! The other window has had a towel over a curtain rod for 2 1/2 years!).

Later!

I'm happy to announce that DBF and I got the drapes up! Yay! This makes me very happy, even if I do nothing else today. Our "window" in our bedroom is actually a large sliding glass door - about 7' x 8' - so it's no small feat to put up the drapes. My mom sewed us two chocolate brown dupioni silk panels for each end, and five light light yellow sheer panels. It looks gorgeous! And now I do want to paint - DBF will be picking up paint samples for me (blues) while he's out running errands this afternoon.

It looks like I'm not making it out to the mall today, but I'm ok with that. I do have a couple of things (a microwave and my car) I need to get posted on Craigslist one of these days so I can sell them.

That's all for now - I may go sit on our balcony for a while and knit to enjoy the rest of the afternoon. Thinking of all of you today. Heart
