Good morning,

I'm up way to early. I had a bout of insomnia last night and finally gave up trying to sleep at 4:30. I'm sure I'll sleep great tonight though Wink

I've got a neuro appointment this morning. We need to go over a bunch of things this visit. I want to start a new triptan and either change my rescue or add another one into the mix. I've been getting to many Migraines that haven't been responding to my current meds.

Yesterday was a "big" day at our house. Aside from the Giants win, of course. DD is self conscience about her legs, she has quite a bit of hair on them and it's pretty dark. Well, a girl on her bus said she uses Smooth Away for her legs. I thought that 5th grade was just to early to start with that mess but DD brought it up again and I finally caved. She used her Smooth Away last night and let me tell you, that thing is great! She feels much better too. I imagine she'll be wearing shorts to school all week LOL My baby girl is getting so big!

I've got some errands to run after my neuro so I don't know if I'll be back on. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Hi everyone!

Laura, you are up with the chickens today!

Yesterday was not so good. TTH from the underworld and I didn't want to take narcotics. It finally turned Migraine around 9pm and I was able to send it back where it came from.

Today I feel total postrome and just zombie like. Funny thing, it's on my right side, not the left which is where the Migraine was.

I have to train my one cat yet again. She had this issue with crying at our bedroom door until I woke up and came out. I finally broke her of that but now, with my insomnia and her thinking I'll be up all the time, she has started it again. She is smart too! She knows I'll spray her with the spray bottle (water) so as soon as I open the door, no matter how stealth I do it, she runs and hides and meows from far away. I get up, do my thing and go back to bed just to have the cycle repeat. I tell you, cats are fast at learning schedules! I just would really like it to not be that schedule she sticks too!

Well, I have a busy day of trying not to do to much since I feel off. That will take some talent to avoid work! LOL

Laura - good luck with the neuro! Let us know how it goes! I hear your boys won yesterday! Yay!

Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning.

I had a little insomnia last night, but it was better than it's been on school nights in a long time.

We survived the big homecoming weekend. Kath left Saturday aroung 3:30 to go to her friend's house to get ready (yes, we gave in) and we went over there about 6 to take pictures. After the dance, her group of friends went to Denny's and Kath got home about midnight.

Dh harvested his garden yesterday. We didn't do too badly, he got a lot of good stuff considering he didn't plant until late in July. He made salsa yesterday, yum.

Nikoli is learning to use dh's engineering program! He's been doing the tutorial all weekend and he's made his first blueprint. That kid amazes me.

Laura, shaving legs is a right of passage. I think Kath was about that age when she started shaving. What is smooth away?

Hi Everyone!

I've been MIA for a couple weeks, and I have missed you all so much! Work has been super busy and I was in the office last week. Plus my computer has been very uncoopeerative lately.

I've been doing okay. Being in the office was really hard. By thursday I was a mess. I haven't had to work a week in the office since before my migraines started, and it's scary how sick I am now. I know there is no way I could work a full time job in the office anymore. Very scary.

Other than that things are okay. Spending lots of time w/ BFF Amanda. Reading a lot. Napping more than anything.

Laura: I'm sorry about the insomina. That is rough. I hope your appointment goes well and you can get some new meds in the arsenal. I think I started shaving my legs around 10 or so. It's just a matter of her being comfortable. I sure wish they had smooth aways when I was that age!

Eileen: Sorry about your migraine and kitty problems. Kitties are total ninjas. I hope you can re-train her.

Deb: Thumbs Up on the harvest. I've always wanted a veggie garden. Though I'm not sure how that would work since I don't like to be outside or get dirty. Wink I love your ticker. Halloween is my favorite and I'm so excited its on a Saturday. Little Red Riding hood this year Big Grin

I promise to pop in more often. I really have missed you guys.

Morning, all.

This morning has been totally a Monday. I don't know if I want to even talk about it. It's raining, again. Started Saturday. Had a migraine yesterday morning but the Relpax knocked it away.

I had my procedure on Thursday for my neck. The verdict is still out. My back is hurting. It's weird. The doctor actually put the needle lower than I expected. I thought he was going to put it in my neck but he put it in my back just above my bra strap. He said something about using a cathedor (sp?). I'm suppose to call the doctor's office in two weeks to let them know how I'm feeling. At the moment, my neck and back are sore.

DS gave into town this week. He also got him a tattoo yesterday. He said it just stung. The tattoo is of the infinity sign.

Well, I need to get back to work. Too much to do. Hope all have a good day.

I am amused about the shaving thing. I only bother to shave my legs about 3-4 times a year for big events like company parties or the like. Big Grin

I think my mom let me start shaving when I was 11. I had very hairy legs, too. Luckily, the hair on my legs were blonde. I still got picked on, though.

I hate to shave. I heard this story on the radio the other day. The lady said it was a quote from her mom. "Don't be in such a hurry to grow up and shave your legs." I thought it was a great quote. She explained it in a way that once you start shaving, you'll have to keep doing it.

Hi Ladies -

May I suggest waxing for the legs? The have pre-waxed strips now, and roll-on wax. I'm a big waxing advocate - I wax everything! I even waxed my arms recently - they were SO smooth afterwards. But I don't do it often, hence the waxing is good for me.

Is anyone else having problems with multi-day migraines the past two weeks? I just can't get rid of them. Weather change? Sleeping changes? I don't know what it is. I'm all out of meds to take too. I'm trying Excedrin migraine - doesn't do much after you've had morphine!

Our big Canadian Thanksgiving party is this Sunday. Send me good vibes - it's a three day event for me, including prep and clean up. I won't be very happy if I have to do it with a constant migraine!

I hope you all have a great week.

SARA

Afternoon everyone!
Sorry I've been MIA for a while, but the crud has been getting the best of me! I'm still depending on an inhaler pretty heavily, but I'm getting there.

DS#1 was sick last night so he was at work with me today-sinus infection. At least dr/boss gave him antibiotics.

I met the contractor on Friday about painting the part of our living room that is about 20' up. DH and I don't want to be on a ladder painting that high! He's going to do the painting, the trim, both hallways and all of the baseboards plus fix the walls where they have settled. All of that for $500. He's a friend, so we got the "friend" discount. He's going to get it done on the 12th so at least I don't have to wait too long. I'll be glad to have it done.

We've been doing battle with AT&T. I've been without a house phone for 2 weeks now-they couldn't get to me and now our internet has been out for 2 days. DH has had it. We've got cable coming in today and a new phone via the cable company in week. We never use the phone, but want it for E911 and so DS can have a phone when he stays home. We use our cell phones almost exclusively. It's been nuts, but hopefully we'll be up and running this afternoon. It's amazing how use to internet service you get!

Better go and get caught back up. My new girl starts on Wed! YIPEE!! Doing a MAJOR happy dance here. I'll be so glad to have her!

I'll try to check back in as soon as I get internet back at home.
Lynn

Well, it's a little late for me to be hopping in here... but it took me all day at work to catch up on everyone's posts from the last few days. Had a busy weekend, but it wasn't too bad. Didn't work as much as normal because we did some family stuff with DBF's BFF. It was a lot more fun than I expected.

Started PT last week. Talk about torture. So far all it's done is made my neck worse. They tried a couple of different things this morning than they did last week, and I managed to make it through the whole work day, which is more than I can say about the last 2 visits. Now I'm afraid to make an appointment for my massage because I don't want to make my neck worse Frowner

I'm home from work now and DBF and I are waiting for his parents to arrive. I'm really nervous about them coming, but I'm afraid to talk to DBF about it. They've stayed with us a few times before but this is an extended stay. The plan is for them to redo the garage that's on our property and make it into an in-law apartment so they can split their time between here and South Carolina. So they're planning to really get construction underway between now and Thanksgiving. So it looks like they'll be here about 6 weeks, this time. I've really been stressing about them being here for a long time.

The last time they were here it was only for a few days and I only had 1 migraine, so I was able to medicate and stay involved for the most part, I just went to bed early. But now they're going to be here all the time. I've had a really hard time the last few months... between working both jobs and being this sick, I don't do much around the house. I had to run to Walmart on Thursday (which was supposed to be a sick day but I ended up shopping and cleaning and not getting nearly as much rest as I should have) to put more in the fridge than water, Mountain Dew and beer. DBF's done a lot of cleaning, which is a good thing, considering there's no way I would have been able to do it. But I have enough trouble keeping up with the laundry. I don't know how I'm going to stay on top of the housework while they're here.

I know DBF's mom will want to help... but I don't want her taking care of us. That was the whole point of moving out of my parents' house. And I don't want them to think I don't take care of their son. Stressing out about this isn't helping my head, or my neck.

Ok, enough ranting...

Laura - I remember being in 5th grade and getting teased about my hairy legs... I was 12 when I started using Nair... then the electric razor and finally a normal razor, lol. Glad your Giants won yesterday. I played Eli in my fantasy team Smiler

Eileen - good luck retraining your cat. Hopefully the prodrome is wearing off by now.

Deb - sounds like Kath had a good homecoming... I remember how much fun we had at mine, we went to Applebee's after lol

Kelly - good to 'see' you! We've missed you. I know what you mean about being in the office all week. It's killer. Hopefully this week will be easier for you.

Heather - hopefully the procedure helped your neck. I'm not too thrilled to hear what the next step is on mine if PT doesn't help...

Amy - I wish I could only shave 3 or 4 times a year. I shave every day Frowner

Sara - hope you're feeling ok for your big celebration this weekend Smiler

Lynn - sorry to hear you're still not feeling well. Hopefully you get all the phone stuff straightened out.

Ok, I'm going to read til DBF's parents arrive I guess.
