Good morning forum family,

Another icky day outside but my head is doing great Thumbs Up

I took Paul to the ortho yesterday and it is a fracture at his growth plate so he is now in a cast which is much better than crutches. We go back in May for the follow up. We have another appointment today for his appendix follow up. This one is at the hospital where the surgery was and quite a drive to get out there. Yikes! Rain and traffic, wish me luck guys.

I saw some of you weren't doing so hot yesterday, I hope you're all better this morning. If not, here's a Group Hug to help you get through the day.

Have a great one everybody!

Good Morning,

Laura I'm sorry about Paul having a fracture. At least he can manuver in a cast and he doesn't need cruches. Small help I know. I don't suppose you could just call the surgeon and tell him he is doing just fine from the appendectomy and that would save that drive!! Some how I doubt that would work. Surgeons always like to poke around for themselves.

I had a migraine yesterday. Not bad, but difficult to tell I had it. Took imitrex before lunch and than when I went to bed. I woke up around 3:30 this morning and thought at first I still had it and it was worse. But in fact it was my sinuses. Took a decongestant and I'm ok this morning. But frustrated. I see the neuro today. It seems like this cold/sinus infection has played havoc with the effectiveness of the depokote. Certainly on top of my list of questions.

DBF and I got to have dinner together last night. He went in late. They are starting to let some of the contractors on the turn around go. He's a refinery employee, so he doesn't get let go. He stays on this nasty shift forever. It's only been 3 weeks. It seems like 6.

Dar I do think your family would notice you being gone if you came out here. But if you leave a note, they would not worry about where you went at least.

I guess I've whinned long enough. I'll get my check book balanced and get ready for work.

Take care everyone.

Cindy

Good Morning, everyone!

Yesterday was a good day for me. We are suppose to have storms later today with a cold front moving in. That usually means another migraine for me. YUCK! Thumbs Down

I've got my med's on hand. Hopefully, I can catch it before things get too bad. I hope everyone has a good day today. Time for me to get to work. Group Hug for everyone!

Hi gang -

Good morning! Laura good luck with your drive and Paulie's appointments. I hope he gets a clean bill of health from the surgeon so you all can concentrate on his fracture! Fingers Crossed

Cindy glad you managed that migraine yesterday. It is awfully hard dealing with an infection on top of the usual head stuff - runs your whole system down. I hope it all clears up soon. Blinking

Heather glad you had a good day yesterday. I hope you can weather the storms! Meds on hand is a good idea, take it easy on yourself too, okay girl? Wink

Danny woke up with a headache. He took advil & went back to bed. He doesn't get them often, but he does stay up too darn late. here I am practicing good sleep hygiene (trying to) and getting to sleep before 11, and when I turn out the lights he says he's going down to the kitchen just to put something away, and doesn't come to bed til after 1:30. Then I get up this morning and clean up the kitchen after the cookies he baked late at night. We have such trouble getting the basics of a routine down in this house - and with the only non-ADD person (me) needing to lie down and rest a lot, it all flies to pieces. Roll Eyes just one of the daily frustrations of my life. Oh well.

Hope everyone has a great day. Mine will be quiet, and I hope productive. The sun's trying to come out. I've got a bunch of written work to do and piles of laundry to fold.

- Megs

'Morning Everyone!

I'm checking in between giving Sparky his Dog Pills and walking with him. Lots of globs of peanut butter are involved. I'd like to let the Tramadol kick in before we walk. He always does better with painkillers in him. Amazing the drugs we can share. We take the same stool softener (docusate), and he takes 1/2 pill regular glucosamine, the tramadol, and hydroxyzine for his allergies. He also takes Previcox, which is a doggie version of Vioxx. He'll be officially 16 on Tuesday.

The last two days were rough. Yesterday, I did nothing, and it took all day to do it. Woke up with one. This one was INSIDE my head. Almost all of my recent ones have been in my scalp. Finally decided to take my Imitrex/Anaprox double cocktail. It knocked it back. That, and a nap. Today is much better. I'm going to walk -- I'm planning on an hour -- then weigh in.

DH has to give a deposition today is a long-running lawsuit his company is in. It will be very odd, a lawyer giving a deposition. He'll have a lawyer representing him. He anticipates that he'll mostly say, "That's protected by the attorney-client privilege" or "That's attorney work product and protected from disclosure." He's still a bit nervous. I had to do it once, and it's a bizarre feeling. He just left, wearing a tie for the first time in a couple of months.

Laura -- good luck with driving in the rain. I hope it's not too heavy. Cindy -- I hope your sinuses get well today! No fun. Was it wonderful to have dinner with DBF? Heather -- maybe the weather won't get inside your head. Good for you for being prepared. And Megs -- I wouldn't be able to sleep through somebody making cookies in the house! Frankly, I hate it when my DH cooks -- he manages to dirty up every pot in the house. But I keep my mouth shut. He thinks he's doing me a favor.

Happy day, everyone!

Good morning, I actually have tea, Snapple. I need the caffiene, muscle relaxer.

Despite taking the muscle relaxer I feel good (can't type worth a darn!). I managed to get 1 1/2 loads of laundry done, the last load has to go in the dryer. DDDDDh brought up some dry clothes for me when he was in the basement. What a sweetheart.

Last night's dinner was ham shanks and lentils and brown rice. Another recipe made up on the fly. The kids ate hot dogs and pasta - heaven forbid they eat lentils.

Rain today, Thursday, Friday and then a break. We're already under flood warnings for today. Our neighbor puts out an early garden but he's been delayed. Dh can't even till our garden, it's a swamp.

Too bad about Paulie's fracture. I hope he heals fast.

Cindy, glad you got some time with DBF.

Heather, glad your head was good yesterday. We're getting the same weather you will be getting.

Megs, look in the off topic folder later, I have some adhd questions.

That's all!

Good Morning All--

I'm supposed to go the grocery store with my 79 year old mother this morning but weather is coming in and my 3 day mild allergy triggered headache (which I treated so I could work) has jumped up to a 5-6. I'm out of Zomig for the week, and it looks like we're going to have several days of unsettled weather, so I called my doctor to beg for a steroid pak, or whatever else he could suggest. It's early, and I may do the knock yourself out for 6-8 hours thing to see if I can break it that way, that will work most of the time, but rips off the day.

Heather--I think we're eyeing the same front with trepidation. I wish I didn't trigger so early to those suckers.

I'm glad that Paulie's fracture turned out to be on a growth plate. They heal so quickly. But his appendix too! He sounds a lot like my two when they were little. My youngest, Mike, had so many accidents (a burn from a soldiering iron, a broken collar bone, a gigantic bonk on the head, and stitches), that I was afraid we'd get investigated for child abuse!!! Luckily 2 injuries occurred when he was in childcare at the base so they got investigated instead.

Megs--I'd clean the kitchen if cookies suddenly appeared in the morning!

Gretchen--What brand of peanut butter do you use? It's manufacturer might be a good stock to buy. I decided to give my sheltie, Lance, a little peanut butter to see if he likes it. Sounds like a super way to get meds into dogs! He thought that licking the stuff off a spoon was true heaven!!!!

Cindy--You know for years they diagnosed my headaches as sinus headaches. When they would get really bad, the allergist would give my an injection of immediate release decadron and another sustained release steroid injection. It always worked, but you can't take them too often. Then they began to realize that migraines could be triggered by allergies, he sent me to my first headache specialist and my life got better.

Wishing everybody a painfree day. I think I need to go sleep. This headache is beginning to get unpleasant.

Finally I am NOT menstrually migraining! YEA!! Big Grin I got out of the house today and to SuperTarget for groceries. Feels good to stock up on fresh goods. I've been surviving on frozen stuff for a while. It felt really good to get out of the house too. I was getting a little depressed and my anxiety was getting worse.

Yesterday I finished another 2 hours of Continuing Education! That felt good. I sure miss my job, but it is nice to stay connected to it this way.

Laura- I hope the drive went smoothly and everything checked out a-okay with Paul.

Cindy- Hope your neuro appt. goes well.

Heather- Hope your meds are working and the storm front doesn't mess with you.

Megs-Hoping that you're day is productive!

Gretchen- Wow! Sparky is 16! He does take a lot of pills! My Knightley loves peanut butter too. He's 5 but only takes one pill for his allergies.

Deb-We've got rain up here too and forecasted for most of the week. I definitely prefer the sun.

Tracie- I hope your pain level goes down.

Tawsha- Bad Beastie! Go away!

So far, so good on the migraine front. I don't have a migraine. YEAH! The weather hasn't been bad either, probably why I don't have a migraine. I don't care. I'll take it!

I can use the laundry fairy, too, if anyone finds its. Big Grin

Hi, roomies!

Just checking in. Had a bad one yesterday, much worse pain than usual and it never went away completely. But I'm tapering off some meds so I can try some other meds so that might have been part of the reason. Feeling much better today. (Oh, gee, just as I type that, wouldn't you know it, my head twinged.)

I'm behind on my migraine diary. I'm a world class procrastinator, always have been. Somebody give me a kick in the you know what, okay? It feels too much like work, and I'm having too much fun today to want to work!

Take care of yourselves, everyone!

LauraSue.
(I'm 55, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.)
