Happy Wednesday gang!

Forgive me while I get a bit mushy on you guys. I was reading the posts in yesterday's Tea Room and just wanted to say Thank You! for all the well wishes for Paulie and for always having a kind word when I need them. No, I'm not migraining, just greatful that I have you guys to see everyday. It really means a lot to me to know that I can come here and share not just my migraine experiences but my life expereinces too. You guys are the best!

Ok, mushy stuff over (for now LOL).

The drive to Portsmouth was actually a decent one. The traffic was heavy but not gridlocked like I feared. The tunnels were clear and the rain was very light. We went to the Naval Hospital (DH is Air Force) and that hospital is HUGE, anyone know it? It's fantastic and I appreciate being able to go there. The doc saw us early and were in and out of there with a clean bill of health for Paul. Now we just have to deal with the cast Thumbs Up

Today is errands day for me and then the next two days are dentist appointments for me and the kids. If I drop off the radar on Saturday I offically blame the dentist appt on Friday.

Have a great Wednesday and I hope everyone is feeling well. Group Hug

Thanks again guys!

Laura,
I'm glad your drive wasn't too bad. I don't know if the hospital you went to but I familiar with military hospitals. My dad was in the Navy.

I manage to make it through the storms last night without a migraine. Thumbs Up

We still have storms in the area for today. Hopefully, I can avoid a migraine today, too.

Laura, I right there with you. I'm very thankful to have this community of people to share my day with, good or bad. I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning,
I have been awake way too long. I have my dental appt today for the beginnings of a crown. I don't like the dentist. Head Banging It has nothing to do with migraines, lights or any of that. I don't like shots in my mouth, drills or any of that. I find the whole process horrid. My dentist and his staff are so nice and kind and I have never had a not nice dentist. I would rather give birth. At least you get cute baby at the end of the process. Oh well, I'll live Yes

Other than that my day is pretty low key. Clearly I'm not going to presume I can do much more after 2 hours in the dental chair.

Megs how can you sleep through cookies being baked in the house? The smell would wake me up. I would be getting the milk out for fresh warm cookies. Man what a treat!!

Gretchen you're lucky Sparky takes his meds so well. My German Shepard, Lady, that I lost last year was awful taking pills. She could pick them out of anything. Hot dogs worked pretty well, but she was smart and would catch on to most things after a bit. I love watching dogs eat peanut butter. It's always pretty funny. How did the deposition go? Lawyers with Lawyers has to get pretty tense.

Tawsha I don't know how you deal with homeschooling. I know with your son's migraines it's the best answer, but my patience would wear thin too much of the time. And pre-teen/teen boys are tough.

I guess I'm procrastinating this morning. Like it will delay the dentist, not!!

Have a good day everyone. This week does seem to be going better than last week was. Let's keep fingers, toes, and anything else crossed that we can on that one!!

Hi everyone, just dropping in here quickly this morning.

Lately I have given up my internet time to tracking what I eat and the elleptical gods - every night for the past four nights. It is good for me, I know, but boring after a while. If only I could run and type..

It's been storming for weeks here, almost everyday. I am up to 5 migraines a week. Fortunately they are only 1s and 2s and some ice and coke will mostly do the trick. It's the first time in nearly a year that I've gone a whole week without taking imitrex. Need to tweek my dosage of med #12. The antihystamine is just a little too strong at the moment and I walk around feeling just a bit conjested and cotton-mouthy all the time. I know better than to let myself get too congested or it will be sinus infection time.

I agree with you, Laura, it is really a great comfort to have everyone here. Glad that Pualie is okay.

Good luck everyone with the storms and migraine avoiding. We have another week ahead where the forecast is : cloudy, T-storm, cloudy, T-storm, cloudy, partly cloudy, storm..... I would like some warmth and sunshine please. It is supposed to be spring.

Laura,

I know Portsmouth Naval Hospital very well - while I was in the Navy, both my children were born there...I spent 5 years in the Norfolk, VA Beach area. Have always wanted to visit again....I miss the ocean.

Good Morning All--

I ended up spending yesterday asleep. DH was coordinating my care with my doc after the fiasco with the ER doc, pneumonia, etc. because DrT was really afraid I might O.D. when I wasn't thinking clearly. DrT gave me a steroid pak, restarted my Singulair, and told DH that if I was still having problems this a.m. and the front hadn't blown on thru, I could have an extra dose of Zomig NS. So I took the Zomig and feel GREAT now.

Heather--thank goodness the weather didn't get you yesterday. Hope all stays well today too.

Laura--I haven't been on the forum that long--but that's the way I feel too. And I was always finding reasons not to spend 30 minutes working on my book. Looking at the forum every day has really inspired me, mainly because I do have some ideas that may help people, especially regarding how to develop the MD trust and a migraine plan.

Cindy--I'll be feeling for you all day. Like getting over a sinus infection, cold, etc isn't bad enuf, now the dentist!!! I would pretty much rather die than go to the dentist!

Have a great day ya'll. I intend a nice ride on Harmoni, on the lunge line; Ms fat Harmoni needs a little work. My coach is teaching lessons here this afternoon so will go down and watch. May set up to start weekly lessons on the lungeline with her starting next week. Think I'm ready.

Hi gang!

I have not been around much the last two days during the day due to internet problems at work. Oh fun.

Now - I'm learning we have new security on our internet and I cannot access a lot of sites that I go to regularly - ok - they have nothing bad on them so I don't know what the deal is.....strange. Even here things are not showing up right, like tickers and certain signatures and such. I don't know what is going on.

Oh so I saw a thingy today saying that they are not going to be marketing Frova as a profilactic for menstural migraines.....I'm sure we will be seeing info from Teri on this very soon. I didn't get to read up on it yet since I am at work. No fear Frova users, it's still out there!!!! Thank God! Frova is my saving grace!!!!

Well that's about it from me for now. Hope you all are doing well!!!

Hey, let's have lunch!

If we can have tea, we can have lunch, right? I'm having various yummy left-overs. Isn't that always the Mom's job, to eat up the left-overs?

Feeling pretty well today. I think I will have another little walk after lunch. I think this hormone supplement I'm on now, which is a cortisol blocker, is finally having some effect on my fatigue. Which means I have the energy to get some exercise. Some people use this to lose weight - and that's not why I'm on it, but if it has that effect I won't complain. My weight has been driving me nuts this past year, I really don't eat that much, and even when I'm really careful about what I eat it makes no difference. I keep hoping that when I go to Dr. Young in June he'll want me to try Topamax and I can lose some weight! Kidding - of course I will take what's appropriate. But if the fatigue is less, and I can exercise more, and cortisol isn't making me pack on some pounds... maybe I'll see Fingers Crossed a difference.

Eileen sorry you're having internet problems. Glad you could make it in to say hi.

Tracie enjoy your riding. So good that you can finally get out again!

Hello Helpless, thanks for stopping by!

Cindy I hope the dentist is bearable. I think my after-dentist migraines may not just be from the light - I get wound up tighter than I don't know what - I'm rarely so tense as when in a dentist's chair! About the cookies - I'm surprised I slept through them too. Oatmeal chocolate chip with dried cherries - yum! They're almost gone - sweets don't last long in this house.

Heather hoping for another good day for you!

Laura I agree with you - it's great to be able to come here and share with all of you. I'm so glad Paulie's got a clean bill of health.

Okay, going walking in the field now. Things are blooming. It's great!

- Megs

Good afternoon! No tea today, but my usual water. Every diet says to drink 8 glasses of water. My stadium cup is 16 oz, and a bottle of water is either 16 or 20. Our fridge has a filter, so I don't drink the bottled stuff except in the car. I weighed in. 169 3/4! The first time out of the 170s! My goal to get to 170 was Memorial Day, so that'll give me more time to get through the 160s if I need it. That goal is Labor Day. I'm hoping to be to my goal by my next birthday, in February. I think I can make it!

DH's deposition went well. Only two hours. He didn't know the lawyer taking the dep: He was from Houston, but the local lawyer there is a blow-hard, according to DH.

Laura -- mush away! I can't tell you how much I appreciate the way y'all lift me up. Thanks for sharing that you appreciate the forum!

I haven't walked yet, so I gotta go. See ya!

Hi, everyone!

Gretchen, you are doing so great on your weight loss, I'm so happy for you!

I'm doing pretty well today. No mig yesterday, made it out to my weekly therapist appt and back and still no mig. Doubt if I'll make it the whole day, but atm I feel okay. One hour at a time, right?!

My psychiatrist gave me my schedule for coming off the Elavil, so I can try the Depakote again without cementing my insides together. I've been seeing her for years since before I got sick with the fibro and migraines and she knows how ultrasensitive the fibro makes me to everything. So she wants me to come off it real slow to avoid sliding into a clinical depression. I can only come down 25 mg, which is half a tablet, every two weeks. But that means I'll be done by 5/30.

I'm seeing the mig specialist early May sometime, so I'll probably start titrating up the Depakote mid May so that should be fine. A two week overlap at low doses shouldn't cause the kind of problem I had before. I hope. That was really icky.
Fingers Crossed

Hugs to all!

LauraSue.
(I'm 54, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.)

Afternoon yall!

Well the 3 day beastie broke but BOY am I brain foggy today. I went most of the day with no pain, though! Its trying to sneak up again, but im ingoring it Razzer

Laura, you mush away hun! Flower Thats what family is for!

Cindy, Some days I dont deal with the homeschooling too well! Big Grin But seriously, we have set rules, and goals as well as consequences just like regular school. Right now I have 2 at home, my oldest(15) and my youngest (9)My youngest I dont have a choice, with his health. My next oldest really wants to homeschool next year. He is even willing to work off the curriculm!

my sis had homeschooled her step-son for a few years, but he moved back to his moms, leaving my sis with full 8th grade curriculm. My boys go work for my sisters business all summer, and my son wants to work out a deal with her! If he wants to do it that bad, and earns it himself I say I will give it a try!

My next to youngest has talked about homeschooling too, but with his behavior and attitude(LONG story, another forum) I just wont try it again with him right now.

Oh my I just rambled on and on! Ok hope all is well with everyone!
I will try to get on in the morning tomorrow! Tee hee

I'm stopping by late. Been kind of a weird day.

My life is now revolving around being hungry, tracking what I eat, exercising and trying not to eat. Enough of this being hungry thing already! Razzer

Hey Tawsha, thanks for replying to Lindsay in the other folder. I wasn't very sure how much to say to her. I was also couldn't remember if 16 y.o. should be on the forum. But she sounded so concerned I just had to offer her something.

I did survive the dentist. They give me lots of anesthesia. I figured out, I don't like the drill. There was alot of smoothing out the tooth that broke. I guess I'm in constant fear of there not being enough anesthesia and it will hurt. Any time there was even a tiny twing of maybe something hurting or discomfort, he gave me more stuff. Of course it's 6 and I can now feel my mouth, he was done at 2:30!!

Tracie your riding sounds so wonderful. You must have missed it horribly the last months. Gretchen you have set such reasonable goals for yourself. Most people I hear seem to set such unreasonable weight lose goals and therefore cannot achieve them. You're really wise.

I'm going to get back to work work. Taking the time out for the dentist put me behind. So with the kids with their dad I'll take advange of the quiet time at home and get some stuff done.

Take care everyone.

Checking in with you ladies on the late side again. Not feeling so hot tonight. Today was a weird day at work, and the clock on my computer was running 20 minutes slow by lunch time which meant I didn't have time to eat lunch before I went to the eye doc. What does this mean? Yup, migraine was worse within an hour. Grr. I just took some Imitrex + ibuprofen so hopefully that calms it down a bit.

I have some good news about that visit I'll post in the Docs folder.

Hope all are well - I'm going to cruise around here for a while before I get back to knitting my mom's scarf. Heart
