Happy Election Day,
I started my Medrol pack this morning. Hopefully it will break up this Migraine pattern I seem to be stuck in. The good news is I feel better today than I did yesterday. The pain is still there but it isn't as bad. I went to the ER yesterday to go get some Mag or DHE but it was unbelievably packed. The wait to get to the back was 2.5 hours and they had zero beds. I asked the lady checking people in if it was Swine Flu and she said all but one case was suspected Swine Flu so I left. They were handing out little goodie bags to everyone who thought they had Swine Flu. It had a mask, and some other stuff in it. I've got a busy day at work today, which is good. It makes the time go faster. The ladies in the front are starting to become more friendly, a nice change Have a great day, everyone! Laura Forum Moderator |

Morning ladies!
It's a glorious day here in the wonderful deep South! Yep-it's me-chipper as baby bird this morning. Know why? I had a normal 8 hour day yesterday and left! It was absolute heaven. I got off, got the boys, came home and did boring stuff-laundry, cooked dinner(at the normal time) and helped the boys with homework-and it was WONDERFUL! My newbie is doing super and I'm officially back to my normal-pre no help-work schedule. Dr/boss and I were talking yesterday and I told him that I was leaving at 3:30 and I swear, the man looked like he was going to bawl. He got the biggest smile on his face and said he was really glad to hear that because I'd carried the load way too long. I think he was genuinely happy that I was getting to leave again. Yesterday was an OK day with the asthma. At least I didn't have to hit the rescue inhaler, so that was an improvement. I hope today is even better. I was asleep before DH got in from karate last night and slept like a log. I feel so much better and man is it nice to sleep to a decent 5:30! Never thought I'd be happy about getting up at 5:30, but it's so nice! Laura-I hope the medrol pack helps your migmon. I would have run for the hilsl with that many people sick around me! ICK Gotta run and get the guys up. Hope everyone has a super day! Lynn |

Morning all...
Not feeling so hot today. I didn't get much sleep last night, depsite taking some NyQuil for my cold. Too much on my mind these days.... My head is feeling very funky. I've had a good run though, so if I get hit I'll deal. On the upside, I'm booked to see Dr. Young at Jefferson Headache on 1/12/2010 Right now I'm just hoping I can dodge a beast and looking forward to a nap.... Laura: Sorry about the ER. I hope the Medrol works for you! Lynn: Not sure if I'm going to make it back, so if I don't be AWAP all |

Good Morning,
Well it's a lovely fall day here in the Bay Area. It will be close to 80 here today, but cooler weather and maybe rain are expected by the weekend. This is typical for us in the Fall. I'm here with both dogs and all three cats in bed and yeah and ice on my head. I'm not sure if I have a migraine or I'm lacking caffiene in my system. The ice feels good either way and I'm drinking coffee as fast as I can. My tummy was still pretty tender yesterday and coffee did not sit well on it. So I avoided it. I think I had 1/2 cup vs the 3 I ususally have. DH will be home on Sunday. DD will be home on Saturday for the night. I'm looking forward to both!! I am trying to become more involved in DH's family. He his DD#2 is a single mom of a 4 yo boy. She has issues they are trying to figure out if they are based in a problem or not. So one of the big issues with her DS is getting a decent meal in him and getting him to bed at a good time. DD's grandmother has been going over in the evenings to help her stick to a schedule. It's helping. DGS is getting to bed by 8:30 and staying in bed. That is a major accomplishment. I'm going to go over Friday night and help her. Should be interesting. Laura I am so sorry you could not get in for ER treatment. I would think that would work more quickly. But I would not want to hang out with all those flu people either. Good luck with the steroid pack. Lynn how nice that you now have a full and compentent staff. It's been way too long for you. Now you can concentrate on making sure you stay well. Kelly lack of sleep is just wrong. I hope you are able to get your mind to quiet down and you get some sleep. Well I need to get moving. I do have to go to the market today. I felt crummy enough yesterday that tea and rice were the mainstay of my diet!! Not today. Talk to you all soon, Cindy |

Morning, all.
Today's the day I finally see the GI doctor for this pain I've had for the past month. Hopefully, he will be able to figure out why my liver is giving me such problems and get me some relief from the pain. I'll be leaving at 12:30 today to go to my appointment. Next week, it looks like I'll be working 48 1/2 hours. My normal work week is 37 1/2 hours. I'll be spending most of the week at the Gaylord Texan Hotel. They are having the annual meeting there. Well, I need to get back to work. Hope all have a good day. I'll try to check back later. I am really starting to feel like I'm playing see-saw with my head. One day it's TTH, the next it's a Migraine. Sometimes the Migraine aborts, sometimes it doesn't and goes into the next day. Two weeks of this now.
Today is not my day - again. Hi ladies,
I can't seem to keep on top of everyone lately. I'm still almost a week behind on Tea Room posts. I will get caught up eventually. Had a really miserable week last week. Used all triptans I could and even rescues didn't help. I made it through the weekend at work and DBF took me to the ER last night. Was given Nubain & Zofran. Made me loopy and put me to sleep ok. Woke up this morning and not 2 hours after being out of bed, my head was bad again. And my neck is really bad today too. I can't seem to catch a break. And I have to work both jobs today. Not really in the mood. Wish I could've stayed in bed today. But no, why would I be able to do that? As you can see, can't really keep up with normal sentences today. Hope everyone is doing better than me. I miss you guys. Meli |

Anybody have a clue on what to do for a suspected ear infection? I'm between a rock and a hard place. IF, and that's a really really big if, I could even get a doctor's appt, then I have to sit in the waiting room in probability with the 18 people who have swine flu.
Judging from Laura's comment about the ER madhouse, I'm not sure I even want to brave doc-in-a-box. But----It feels like someone is ramming an ice pick in my ear drum and the pain in radiating down into my teeth on the side. I never got ear infections as a kid. About 8 years ago I had a megabad, needs 3 different antibiotics one. Now I get one about every other year. Any thoughts? Amy |

Oh Amy I understand not wanting to go in. Try calling your doctor first and see if my chance he/she will just call in a script. If not, see if you can get an appointment first thing in the morning or first thing after lunch.
You have a history of the ear infections, so they might provide the script over the phone. That is one the good things about staying with the same PCP for a long time!!! For me, I get symptomtic relief from moist heat. I'd also ask the office that. Does your insurance have a 24 hour nurse hot line? If so I would suggest calling them for symptomtic help too. Good luck. |

Amy, you could also try going to a local urgent care. In general, those tend to be less crowded than the ER and they'd still be able to help you.
If nothing else, you could always wear a face mask at the doc's office. It's not the most fashionable but I'm sure they'd understand that you don't want to catch anything. -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com "What will you do, if it does not turn out how you expect?"
