Well my fellow forum mates, I hope your day is going better then mine.
See, perfume girl is back at work today, and although I have not SEEN her yet, I can SMELL her and I'm already feeling an attack on the way. Laying low today, so if you don't see me much, that's why. This feels like a big one brewing. I'm going to try like heck to avoid it. It was a good run. I guess I can now say I have denfinatly identified a trigger!!! UGH!!!!! Wishing you a better day then I am having! Eileen, I hope you are able to head off that migraine.
Today is laundry and paperwork day. I have a cough that I hope goes away by the end of the week. Perhaps some tea is just what I need. I'm out of my Hot Cinnamon favorite, so I'll have to settle for peppermint or perhaps just English tea with honey and lemon. Teri, your video of the blooming tea from yesterday was fascinating. I'm glad to know that it was good. I have a small ornament I exchange with my best friend every birthday. We meet for lunch and return the ball with a birthday gift in the silver ball (it opens and has a clasp to close the top). I'm always looking for unique small surprises to stuff in there. A few blooming teas might be a fun idea! Thanks. Here's to hopes for a pain-free day- Liz |

Good morning everyone!
Eileen--we've got to get you some nose plugs! You know, the kind my kids like to wear when they go swimming. If you go in to work wearing those, maybe perfume girl will get the message! Your perfume girl made me think of my house yesterday. DH ran to the drug store to get some new deodorant. They didn't have the one he usually buys, so he picked up some new stuff. UGGGHHH!!! My kids liked the smell, but it was WAY too strong for me! I could smell him from the next room (a weird kind of plasticky, powdery smell Liz, I sure hope you're feeling better soon! I'll join you in a cup of tea. (But I only drink plain old Lipton...) We got a little snow here overnight! DH's boss called and told him the roads were bad and he should work from home today! (Makes me wonder what's up...the boss NEVER suggests working from home!) Last night was another of those weird nightmare nights! I dreamed that I was lost in the city in an endless area of railroad tracks! I was dragging and IV pole and bag along with me...and desperately trying to hail a cab! Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you are all well! |

Eileen, when Kath and I got into the elevator at the hospital yesterday, it was empty, but someone who had to have bathed in men's cologne had been in there and it was awful! We were both laughing all the way to the first floor.
Otherwise, I did my grocery shopping and I'm going to make chicken and rice tonight. See? I promised boring posts after the wild weekend with my mom. Deb [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] |

Well perfume girl was told to nix the scent. Oddly enough she said she too gets "headaches" from scents. She is fighting a cold, which could explain the extra dousing she gave herself this morning. She can't smell it.
Anyway - she won't be wearing it anymore which makes me happy! She just has to avoid me today and then we will be all good! It's so funny because I can tell when she is near by and where she has been! I took a Skelaxin as soon as I smelt her this morning....it seems to have head it off ok.....I feel a tiny little pull but not enough to be downing a Frova yet. I'll keep ya posted! Oh and did anyone catch Terminator the Sara Conor chronicles last night? We DVR'd it - is it worth checking out?
I loved the third movie (have seen the first two in parts) Deb this sounds up your alley! Good morning all -
I'm human again, oh yeah, doing the happy dance! I'm feeling you, Eileen, with the co-worker's perfume. Have you tried speaking to her? Jenny your deodorant story made me laugh. Adam (almost 13) is wearing Axe deodorant because his 16 year old cousin, who he hero-worships, wears it - this is the hot teen guy thing, apparently. I can't stand it! It's okay if he's got his clothes on but I told him no parading around bare-chested after putting it on (and no putting it on in my bathroom!) Yesterday Adam had a bath in our bathroom (we've got the only tub) - he forgot his ADD meds in the morning - and I'm hearing him singing "Rinse, lather & repeat, rinse, lather and repeat!" When I finally went in after him, he had used three kids of shampoo and two kinds of conditioner, almost cleared us out of hair products, and the perfumy smell was unbelievable! Normally I don't even notice the fragrance in shampoo, but I had to turn on the exhaust fan for half an hour! I'm back to work today. Lots to catch up after missing most of last week. I need to strike a balance between beign productive and not overdoing it. I worked the neighborhood grapevine yesterday and found a migraineur neighbor who has worked with the doc at the Princeton headache center I've been wondering about. I'll be speaking with her more later. So I'm at work on the doctor search. Hope your weather system passes without doing damage, Eileen. Good morning all!
I tried one of my new anti-nausea meds last night before I went to bed (promethazine, generic for phenergan). It seemed to do the trick, though it did make me pretty woozy. The dizziness is tolerable though as long as it gets rid of the nausea, and it did. Definitely not something I can take at work though! My HA specialist gave me some metoclopramide (generic for relgan) to use if I'm at work. I haven't tried that one yet, but it has been added to my survival bag in my purse. I woke up this morning with my usual migraine pain. I was moving a little slower than usual because I was feeling absolutely exhausted. Not sure if that's from the meds or from all the walking DBF and I did yesterday. I managed to drag myself into work though. I'm about to make some ginger peppermint tea. That's all the news from here - hope everyone is having a good day! -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ “HOPE CAN GROW FROM THE SOIL OF ILLNESS!” This is the theme of 2008’s National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week in September. I finally got my tea. I went with vanilla sugar and milk instead of the honey-lemon. Yum.
Eileen, Good news about "perfume-girl." It sounds like you are hanging in there today. Jenny, we are an unscented deo. house for that very reason. (Cleaning supplies are offensive too!) The last time I was getting deo. it took me awhile to locate an unscented one among the tropical breezes, powder puffs, and flower flurries. Enjoy the snow day. I haven't even thought about the scents my boys will want to use when they get older Liz |

yeah, meg, what a poo out of a storm that was huh?!
I had dinner at my friend/boss's house last night and we were thinking snow day! Yeah, woke up with a big nothing! I guess that's better for my head though. Storm + perfume-girl...now that I may not have been able to control! Don't count out the snow Eileen. It just started flurrying here in DC.
I'm on a lunch break from a conference, and I just had some yummy food. Thought I'd log on here, as I'd paid for service for the days that I'm going to be here. I left my triptans in a bag in my room earlier today- and it quite possibly could have looked like trash. I had to make a FRANTIC call to the hotel to not have housekeeping this morning. I think I'm gonna bring frova with me to the next session- I'm starting to feel that poke behind the eye. Perhaps it was done with my pen- which I lost this morning. I need a pen to take notes, and I am NOT buying one in the gift shop. that's final! Ok, more later. Time to learn-erate some more. (Like where my next session is in relation to my room). Update: Say "what"? that session went right over my little old head. I decided to take my leave about 1 hour early. Meeting friends in a couple of hours that I haven't seen in years- Jamie is excited. |

I didn't make it to the Forum yesterday, and look what's happened! Deb, I'm glad your mom is improving. How scary!
My brother's DGF is in the hospital with cellulitis in her leg. She wisely went to the ER before it got systemic, but will be in the hosp a few days. DS went back to college yesterday. He was home for about a month, which was great, but I'm kind of glad for it to be just the two of us and the dog. I kept forgetting about closing the bedroom door while I was dressing. Sat and Sun weren't good head days. Somewhere between a 5 and 7, and meds didn't help a whole lot. It was a 5 yesterday, and we went to the 25th anniversary celebration of our church. For some reason, they consider us "Founding members." We weren't involved in the actual negotiations with the bishop to get the parish founded, but we were there for the first Mass, in the banquet room at the Country Charm Fish House. I got to wear an orchid with a silver ribbon and sit in a special section. Perfume in church doesn't bother me since I lost my sense of smell. I guess that's one good thing. Both bishops were there, plus the two former pastors. Didn't get to speak to the founding pastor, and only got a short visit with the one who got moved 2 years ago. The music was great, and the bishops didn't talk too long. Afterwards, the Knights of Columbus did lunch. Grilled pork tenderloin, green beans, and scalloped potatoes. Those guys can cook! They've even got a trailer with "Knights of Columbus Cooking Team" painted on it. I splurged and got some of the birthday cake, too. It wasn't the typical bakery sheet cake and tasted really good. Walked for an hour this morning but decided to delay weighing in until tomorrow. I've got the hatband kind of headache this morning, so it's Skelaxin and an ice wrap for me. It's not fair, because I walked for an hour this morning. I've already used my Anaprox/Imitrex attack twice this week, so I think I'll just suffer through this. I've got to make a run to the drugstore, but I'll just put on a ball cap. They've seen me without makeup plenty of times before. All this talk about tea has flung a craving on me. I may try some real tea, perhaps Earl Grey, my favorite. But the last time I tried it, I couldn't taste it. No smeller strikes again! But Red Zinger and the cranberry one from Celestial Seasonings taste great. And I haven't tried Constant Comment. Teri -- where did your friend come up with the flowering teas? Talk about a wonderful present for the girl who has everything! I hope the rest of everyone's day goes well! Gretchen in Mississippi |

A pretty routine Monday for me. Got to the office at 7 A.M. Our team headed out at about 8 A.M. for our work location. I felt that I had a productive day. We're starting tomorrow morning at 7:30 A.M., which is the "standard" time for us.
Then to the YMCA for exercise, then a stop at the grocery store. Then some forum time. My head has been in good shape today. For those with head trouble today, I hope you are feeling better soon. |
