Good morning everyone!
It sounds like almost everyone is sick! May the flu bug/ickies go away from you all super quickly. Group Hug Group Hug

Today is starting out better than yesterday. Dr/boss was in a mood yesterday and I lost 10 lbs of tail as soon as I got to work. He KNEW he’d over stepped when I walked out at lunch and told him I had to get out and MIGHT be back before our patients started back. My staff thought I wasn’t coming back. Every way I turned, he chewed me out yesterday. I ended up cleaning everything you can imagine, stirring up dust along the way and aggravating the asthma to boot. At least today is better. He’s still in a mood, but he’s treading lightly around me.

I think I may actually be getting better asthma wise. The dust etc. aggravated it yesterday, but it seems to be better. Sometimes I wonder about dr/boss-he took me off the Singulair for no reason. I think it was actually helping, but I guess we’ll see. I’m off of it now, so if I get worse again, I’ll start it back up. I was coughing and congested this morning, but it seems better now. I’ll be glad to talk with my doc on the 13th about it all and let him take care of me.

It must be the weather because both boys were in a mood last night too. DS#1 has found the 10 year old attitude, which landed him in MAJOR trouble last night and DS#2 is getting a cold so he cried and everything. I was totally frazzled out by the time I got them in bed. DS#2 is better today and DS#1 if figuring out to keep the attitude in check.

Gotta run-I’ll try to check back in at lunch. I hope everyone is feeling better soon!
Lynn

Morning all...

Well, I got my memory foam mattress last night. O... M.... G.... It is like magic. I think I got the best nights sleep I've gotten in years. I woke up with no back or shoulder pain, and feeling sort of... gasp.... rested!

And I just checked and I can still touch my toes. I'm starting to feel hopeful that my disc is finally back in place! Fingers Crossed Of course, now I have no excuse and I'll have to start exercising again.

On the downside, my HA from yesterday is still here. Still isn't a migraine tho. This happened to me a couple months ago. I just had a wicked left temple headache for four days.... Though I am starting to have some migrainey symptoms today from the rain....

Well, nothing today but work. I hope to get to the grocery store AND take a shower tonight. We'll see. Am I the only person who finds showering every day to be overwhelming? I just don't ever seem to have that one last spoon at the end of the night, even with my daily nap. I need to talk to my GP about the constant fatigue. I might put a post in Q&A to see if anyone else has this problem....

Lynn: I'm glad you are feeling better, but you need to be careful with cleaning. If you disturb the dust it gets angry and attacks! Wink Seriously though, you take it easy on yourself. Don't think we can't pull our 2x4s out! I hope your day is better today.....

Peggy: I'm sorry you haven't been sleeping. I know I had some insomnia after I came off Elavil (that stuff knocks you out!) After a week or so, my body adjusted. I hope your head feels better today and you get a nice long visit from the sleep fairy tonight....

Dar: Thumbs Up on pumpkins! I miss carving pumpkins. Not so much with that in the big city. I hope you were able to dodge the beastie!

Eileen: You know me so well! I started drooling at the thought of corned beef. YUM! I hope you don't have fibro too! But it's good to ask.

Heather: I hope you can get some answers from the doc soon. I know we are all worried..... Feel better Heart

Megs: Sorry to hear Adam has the flu. I hope you can dodge the sick.

Jenny; I hope the kids are feeling okay. I'm sure the doc wouldn't have let them go back if they shouldn't.

Amy: I wonder if your decrease in head pain is more from better sleep than any of the other effects of the skelaxin. I know if my sleep patterns get disrupted I have huge problems.... I'm glad to hear you are making some progress though! You've had such a rough go of it....

Cindy: Your trip sounds so fun! I hope you are enjoying the alone time. I have to laugh at your advice to Gail about her being the boss. I wish the same were true for cats! I'm so not the one in charge here.... Unfortunately, I don't get to see little sister much b/c she's out on LI. But, now that I'm broken in, I want to start getting bi weekley massages at the local massage school. I wanted little sis to beat me up properly, but I figure now I can go to some one local for maintenance.

Well, I'll try to check back later.... if the beast doesn't find me that is...

Be AWAP everyone
Heart Kelly

Hey guys -

Pouring down rain here. Rain Likely to do it all day and tomorrow. I had another Migraine last night and right now I ~think~ I'm on to post-drome but not sure. You know, that lingering ache and pokes of real pain, much better but not gone, kind of afraid to move around & provoke it? I am wondering whether I messed myself up big time by being short of the nortriptyline this weekend - back on full dose last night. My sinuses are also not clear yet, though much better, and there's pressure in my head from that.

Yesterday I sat up and worked at my desk and after half a day it was just too much - I think that's when the Migraine started. But when I prop myself in bed with the laptop I can't concentrate and don't get much done. I think I'm gonna try the laptop in the big armchair today - so I still have support and comfiness, but a little more conducive to thinking. I wish I could just take the day off again but I have a paid project waiting, clients waiting for forms from me, and have to finish sorting out our new insurance, some things that are urgent.

Adam was pretty perky yesterday afternoon and fever low, almost nothing. Maybe it's not flu. Fingers Crossed We're not pushing it though, and he's certainly sleeping like he's sick (hours & hours). He's home again today, but if he has no fever today it will be school tomorrow.

Supper co-op started last night - Danny had cooked in the crock pot Sunday (stewed chicken with artichokes) so I just made rice & salad & helped him assemble it all to deliver. It was some work, but not too bad. Now we get dinner delivered today and Thursday. Yay!

Kel hooray on the great mattress! That is really good news - being rested may make you feel much better all around.

Lynn I'm with Kel, you take it easy girl! I'm glad the asthma seems to be settling down a bit. Good luck with the 10 year old attitude - around that age Rach told me, "well I'm getting to be a teenager soon, you may just have to get used to it!" Roll Eyes Though I have to say most of the teen years have been better (in terms of kids' attitudes) than the pre-teen ones were.

Cindy so nice to get a nice long post from you yesterday. Hope you can enjoy your alone time.

Jenny glad the boys are back to school. Hope they stay well!

I'm going to take my shower and hope that perks me up some... Kel if I waited to the end of the day I wouldn't do it either! Wink

Good morning.

I'm having issues remembering which day it is. Is it Tuesday or Wednesday? Maybe it's just wishful thinking.

I saw my pain management doctor this morning. I think it's funny and irritating at the same time when doctors get upset at other doctors for their stupidity. I talked to my pain mgmt doctor about the pain I'm having. He writes my script for my pain medicine. When I told him that my doctor has me taking the hydrocodone, he got upset. He said "You do not need to be taking anything with tylenol in it if you are having any problems with your liver." He was shaking his head.

He asked me how much pain medicine I was taking on a daily basis. I told him. Then, he wrote me a script for Oxycodone. He said this medicine would not hurt my liver. It's nice to have a doctor looking out for you. I told him that I asked the doctor about taking the hydrocodone. It wasn't my regular doctor that told me to take the medicine. It was another doctor at the clinic because my doctor was out of town. Of course, it was this same doctor that originally told me I had shingles.

Lynn, if you think 10-year old attitude is bad, wait until 13. Hang in there, girl. Stay firm. Hope your asthma gets better.

Kat, you sound like a mattress commercial. LOL

Megs, I hope Adam doesn't have the flu, I also hope he gets to feeling better soon.

BTW, I had a Migraine this morning but the Relpax knocked it out. The neck and shoulder pain I usually get was very mild and went away, too. I think the procedure my pain mgmt doc did it working. Big Grin

Hope all have a good Tuesday. Hoping to hear back from my primary doc and get the referral to the specialist. I need some relief and some answers NOW!!!

Good afternoon ladies,

Work was good today. I learned a bit more and it seems that I'll be a bit more than just a "paper pusher" chick, I'll get a chance to use my brain.

Speaking of which, it hasn't been happy as of late. I either have a Migraine brewing or a headache almost everyday. This has been going on for a few weeks so I think I'll need to pay a bit more attention to my triptan/rescue med intake and make sure that's not causing it. On the happier side of things, I haven't had a knock me to the floor Migraine in a few weeks....could it be the Lamictal kicking in at a higher dose? Me hopes so!!

DH is still laid out. We went to his briefing yesterday but didn't stay for the whole thing, he was just miserable. He went back to the doctor today and they sent him home for another two days. He Lysoled everthing in the bedroom which was thoughtful, but my head was like...hey, that smells tough! LOL

Lynn-Sorry your little one is getting sick. My kids are finally recovering!

Kelly-Hooray for your mattress! I've always wanted one! I made corned beef and cabbage last week, it was yummy.

Megs-I hope things are going well in your armchair. Your supper sharing sounds like a great plan. How did it all come about?

Heather-I'm so glad the Relpax worked for you. That's the only triptan left that I haven't tried yet...I'm sure it won't be much longer LOL

Take care everyone!

Haven't had a chance to catch up with everyone and everything on here... probably won't get to today either..

I feel like someone has put a fist in the side of my head... and continues to grind their knuckles there. Only have 1 more triptan day left this week. Maybe I'll hit the Vicodin later. At tomorrow's appointment with the neurologist, whatever she is, I have to ask for something else for rescue. Not sure if the Amitriptyline is making me more emotional than usual or if it's just the stress and frustration of constantly being in pain. Going to see if she's going to increase my dosage again too.

I wonder how much longer I can stay at work...

Sorry this is rambly. Hope all that are well stay well and all that aren't well get better soon.

Meli

Sometimes I could smack dr/boss. He told me yesterday to quit taking the singulair-he didn't think it was helping. I tried to tell him I thought it was, but no-time to quit. I didn't take it last night and sure enough, I'm coughing and hacking this morning and have had to hit the rescue inhaler AND had an albuteral neb treatment from the wheezing. You know what he said-"guess it was working hu?"

I'll be so glad to get to my reg. doc!

Hope everyone is having an OK afternoon-It's raining here and the antibiotics have left me with another unpleasant infection-fun, fun. I hope the afternoon is better than the morning-27 pts. plus ambulance/rescue squad for one of them and then my episode with the asthma. The day should be over!

Gotta run-
Lynn

Still no call from my primary doctor's office regarding my latest tests. Tomorrow will be a week. I just want to hear something!

My boss is on vacation the next three days. Halo

Forty more minutes then it's time for me to leave. My head started hurting again but it's not too bad. I guess I should take another Relpax.

I ate cheese, crackers and ham today. My stomach seemed to tolerate it. I'm suppose to be on a clear liquid and bland diet. Thumbs Down

Good Afternoon Ladies,

I'm sitting here taking a break from work with the pups both next to me and a fire going in the fireplace. It's not really cold, but it gives me a nice cozy feeling I like. That insert was the best money I think I have spent on this house. The wood lasts so much longer and I get heat from it.

Yeah Lynn the attitudes don't get alot better. My daughter had more attitude than my son. But my son just didn't talk much. It was good to get him in a car for a long drive!!

Kelly awsome on the new bed. I'm so glad it "fits" you so well. Maybe you will get better quality sleep and be less fatigued.

Megs you can be so good at pacing yourself. Keep it up while you are not feeling well so you do not relapse. The dinner co-op sounds awsome! It will be great to hear how it progresses.

Heather did you go ahead and call for the test results. I can't believe it's taken them so long. I'm hoping no news is good news.

Laura how nice of DH to clean everything up from his sickness. I would have perfered pine sol myself. Sorry he is continuing to feel so crummy.

Meli have you gotten any relief? You sound so miserable.

I need to get on my horse and run some errands. I'll bank the fire and have dinner when I get home. I'll get through them more quickly that way. Food as an insentive.

Take care everyone.

Cindy
