Good morning everyone,
Well, yesterday stunk. It was rainy and dreary outside and then to top it all off the Giants got their butts handed to them by the Saints. Blech. Today is supposed to be a bit sunnier but cool but then the rest of the week is going to be beautiful! Yea, warmer temps, I'll take them while they're still available. I woke up with a bit of a Migraine this morning thanks to a rough night of sleep. The dogs were worked up about something and then our house alarm beeped it's monthly beep to say, hey, I'm installed, why not pay to have me hooked up? We use some of the free features on it otherwise we'd disconnect it because every month around 4:00 a.m. it does it's little beepy deal. Alright, off to eat and do my hair and wake up DS#1 and DD and get on the road. Have a great one everybody! Laura Forum Moderator |

Morning everyone-
It sounds like a lot of us are hurting and FREEZING! What happened to fall? We're the deep South and it's 34 this morning. What's up with that? My weekend was a tough go-my parents weren't due in until around 6 Friday-they arrived at 3:15-right behind me from the grocery store. Dad was in a mood and Mom was tired so it wasn't too pleasant. I had errands to run after work. This stupid asthma is giving me fits. I had yet another reaction to an inhaler Friday. I think dr/boss is understanding why I won't take new meds when I'm not at work. I have 1 inhaler that works for about 4 hours and only if I'm not doing anything strenuous. Grocery shopping was a bit much. Pushing Mom through the mall all day Sat. in her wheel chair was WAY too much. I'm going to see dr/boss again today and see what we can find. I'm a bit un-nerved by it all. DH has been sick all weekend, so he's been in a mood too. It's just been a tough go all the way around. So much for a happy b-day. Oh well, I don't usually make a big deal of my b-day anyway. Back to work today. My newbie continues to do really well. I'm hoping to have a Friday off in 2-3 weeks. At least that is getting much better. Better run. I hope we all warmed up some and get feeling better. Lynn |

Nikoli is home sick today. He woke me at 2:30, just as I have finally fallen asleep; he was coughing, had a headache and chills. He's not too bad off today, I hope it's just a cold and not H1N1.
I had planned to go grocery shopping today, but Kath said she'd go so I'm giving her a minimal list just to get us through the next couple of days. She's requested fish and leek pie for tonight - a little time consuming, but how can I turn down my daughter? Her attitude is much improved, I think the counseling has helped. The sausage dinner at church last night was awesome. I don't like pork sausage and always thought it was patties, but these were links and they deep fry them. Not diet friendly but amazing, especially with a little horseradish sauce. Laura, I'm sorry about your Giants - I have no idea what the Rams did - gonna check in a minute. They haven't won a game in a year and continue to stick with their lousey quarterback. Lynn, sorry your birthday wasn't better. Deb [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] |

Hi guys -
Back from Minnesota. We had a really nice time with Rachel. Met a lot of her nice friends and attended 2 classes, she showed us around and took us for a walk in the arboretum that's connected to the college. Saturday we went into Minneapolis and went to the Walker Sculpture garden and to a play in the evening - had a great time. The trip was rather grueling. Thursday night our flight was delayed 3 hours - so by the time we had gotten our rental car & driven 50 miles to where we were staying - we got into the hotel at 2 am. We were meeting Rachel to go to her 8:30 class 1/2 an hour away - so had like 4 1/2 hours to sleep - and Danny snored all that time. So I had no sleep at all and a Migraine by mid-afternoon. I did get to take my Imitrex & lie down in the library in the afternoon - and Migraine was gone and I felt fine that evening and the next day. Then yesterday, coming back, we got to the airport to discover our flight, and all flights back to Newark for the day, was canceled because of windy weather in Newark. So they put us on a flight to Philly and we called a friend who came to get us at the airport - what a sweetheart! I woke up this morning with a sore throat and green junk in my sinuses - I was sneezing in Minn, and I think all the exhaustion of the travel probably pushed me over the edge into sinus infection land. Not to mention all the cold weather - yuck! I am in bed with the laptop - catching up on emails & other stuff, but lying down taking it easy. I have to go to the store tomorrow so I'm conserving as much energy as I can. Lynn so sorry to hear about the asthma! I see I have some catch-up reading to do! Deb I hope Nikoli has just a cold - there are plenty of those going around too. Laura sounds like that alarm co is making you pay anyway - in lost sleep! Hope you feel better! See all later - be well! - Megan |

Ugh. I feel like death warmed over. I have been in bed since Thursday with the flu. If you name the symptom I have had it. I am still nauseous, headachy, coughing and a bit dizzy but decided it was time to get up out of the bed. Ah, the sweet feeling of clean hair! LOL! I did go to the doc who ran back out of the room for a mask and gloves even though I was wearing a mask and he sent me to the ER but they just gave me fluids said it was flu and sent me home with a script for Tamiflu. The ER doc didn't even examine me! He came in to the "room" gloved, gowned and masked and stood at the entrance of the room...If they didn't think it was H1N1 then why wouldn't they get near me? It was sort of comical.
I had written a note to my psychologist explaining that I had not fully disclosed the extent of my suicidal thoughts (I'm okay now) due to fear of her advice to admit myself to a psych ward. She wrote back and basically "fired" me as a patient. She says she wants to be my friend...I would cherish her as a friend but darn she is a great therapist... I have been given 2 new responsibilities at work. I am now training supervisor and in charge of updating and writing our training manuals and training new hires, retraining anyone who needs help, etc. And I am lead person for a new IT help desk account they have taken on. And of course there isn't any additional money attached. But at least I will have some saleable skills. Having a hard time sitting upright- still dizzy so I will close for now and just say I hope everyone has as good a day as possible! And if you are hurting, gosh I am sorry! be blessed! Dawn |

Ok, he's got chills, fever, cough, congestion and his joints ache. The only things he doesn't have is the sore throat, diarrhea and unusual tiredness. I'm clueless but we're going to treat it with rest, lots of liquids and ibuprofen and hope he doesn't get worse - then it's off to the doctor or urgent care or ER. And, the Rams are now 0-6. I think it sounds like most of us are sick or have family that are. Yuck!
I'm fighting a cold thing. No fever, just amazing post nasal drip and cough. My voice keeps fading in and out. That should make lecturing tonight a real thrill. Dawn - I hope you feel better soon. (I am somehow perversely amused at the overkill reaction of the doc) Amy |

Hello all!
I don't feel all that spiffy today. My tummy hurts and I feel gross. I really would have liked another day added to my weekend. LOL Tonight is baseball for DH. Yankees, Yankees, Yankees. It's either that or Giants, Giants, Giants, at our house. Deb - I hope that your son does not have the H1N1 (DH calls it the Hinny flu - he is so mature!). Amy - hope you get rid of your cold quickly! Still cold here in NJ - and they are doing our roof here at work - so between the weather and noise and my belly hurting, I'm batting a thousand! Hope you all have a great day!
