Good Morning All--

This will be short, because I have to go get dressed. But I wanted everyone to know I feel MUCH BETTER! I had a great night's sleep. When the coughing woke me up, another dose of Robitussin AC was due, so, uck, another dose and back to sleep. The wheezing is way down after using the nebulizer.

I still don't have the appt with the pulmonologist, but DH promises to catch phone and take care of that for me today.

DF and I are to take Nutmegan the horse over to Texas A&M vet school today to have them decide which of the twin embryoes she's carrying needs to be terminated. Horses are not able to successfully carry twins to term, so one has to go. We tried to "pinch one off" last week but they're too close together to do it safely, so A&M will inject 1 with penicillin, a very safe but advanced procedure. They want to do that only after there are heartbeats so they can terminate the weakest embryo.

Thanks for everybodies well wishes.

Good Morning,

Well it was HOT here yesterday, like 100 hot. Very unusual for this time of year. So I felt like doing nothing when I got home last night until late. I don't have A/C, you know it doesn't get hot that often!! So I will do more this morning before I head to work since it will be equally hot to day.

The kids are funny these days with school winding down. They were very animated talking about their school day and how little was being accomomplished "and for this we have to go for 180 days a year". As a completely unbiased mother they would make a very funny comedy team together. They play off each other very well. The kids are only 16 months apart and are very close to each other now as friends. It's always fun to watch them. Garrett will miss Piper when she's at school next year.

Gotta go. Things to do, vacation to get ready for. Work to go to. Yes, I'm excited. BTW, as much as I love animals, nature, etc, is it wrong to want to elimate blue jays? The songs birds start so beautifully in the morning and than the jays start screatching, not very soothing first thing.

Take care everyone. Tracie good luck with Nutmegan. Hope the procedure goes well with her.

Cindy

Good morning!

Tracie -- how great to hear you're feeling better! Best of luck with Nutmegan today. It's amazing how advanced veterinary medicine is.

Cindy -- 100 degrees is hot in anybody's book. They don't even build things down here without A/C. Even the schools were air conditioned 20 or so years ago.

I don't have anything big planned for today. Got some more paperwork done yesterday. I think I'd stay behind, even if I worked straight for 3 or 4 days.

Good morning!

I'm 100% pain free and I'm so excited! Back to the dining room, hooray!

I ran a bunch of errands yesterday but no lunch with my friend, she had to go to a funeral for a board member's wife. Awful, awful, awful.

I'm glad I got out yesterday, it was sunny and warm and so pretty outside. Today is rainy and humid. Thankfully, my noggin didn't react to the weather.

Tracie-I'm so glad you're feeling better. Good luck at Texas A&M today

Cindy-I totally understand what you mean about the birds. We have ducks and geese fly over and they are so cool to listen too early in the morning. Then the songbirds chime in with their pretty music and then BLAM - the woodpecker starts in and ruins it all. LOL

Gretchen-good luck with your paperwork

Stay well everyone! Smiler

Morning all...

It's such a drab, rainy day here in NJ. Frowner My head is already feeling off. I think migraine number 9 (of the past 11 days) is about to kick in. I am really hoping not, because I have plans with my best friend this afternoon. I think I am going to take a Relpax though. I haven't taken one since Monday, so I think I should be alright. Something has to get this streak to stop....

I am not feeling all too motivated to be working today. Not only is it Friday, but I'm feeling a little annoyed with my boss (which is in the gripes folder). So, I intend to do the bare minimum of what is expected of me.

Tracie: I'm so glad to hear you are feeling much better now. Good luck with Nutmegan today. I hope everything goes well...

Cindy: good luck with everything that needs doing today Smiler And no, your not a horrible person for hating the jays. The wide world of nature can be really annoying sometimes!

Gretchen: good luck with paperwork!

Laura: YAY for pain free! I hope it lasts all weekend.

Oh, and I saw in yesterdays tea room that this forum is addictive... Yeah, I am here like three times a day! If not more Big Grin

Good morning everyone!

It's Friday! Hooray! (Doing my happy dance...) Big Grin

Tracie, I'm so glad to hear that you're feeling better! Smiler I sure hope things go well with Nutmegan today.

Cindy, maybe you could send a little of your sunshine over here to PA? It's in the 50's and rainy today. Ick.

Gretchen, days without big plans sure are nice, aren't they?

Laura, take it easy in that dining room!

Kat, I'm heading over to check out your gripe...Try to have a nice Friday (even if your boss is being creepy).

I just got back from my son's school. He took his lizard to school for show-and-tell today. Big excitement for him! The lizard could only stay for 1/2 hour, though (it needs its heat lamp or it might get sick).

My head is still feeling great! I'm fighting a rotten cold, though...it's become a really bad earache. I called my PCP this morning and asked him to take a look in the ear to see if there's something funny going on...I can hardly hear out of it and it hurts!
(But I'll take 10000000 earaches over 1 migraine any day!)

Have a terrific Friday, everyone!
Heartjenny

ps--Deb, I'm so sorry for your loss. I sure am glad you got home safely, though! Group Hug

Good morning, everyone.

I'm getting in here late this morning. I dove straight into work this morning. I have a headache today. I'm hoping it doesn't turn into anything more.

We had the end of the year band party last night for the high school kids. It was for all the band kids; out going seniors-in coming freshmen. It was a lot of fun. It lasted until about 9:30, though. I'm sure glad it's Friday.

I'm ready to sleep in tomorrow. I'm sure my son is, too. He's had a pretty busy week. Looks like we've both got a pretty busy weekend, too. It will all be fun! I'm going to the movies and dinner with one of my best friends from high school. I can't remember the last time I've gone to the movies. She has kids all under 6 and I have one that is almost 17. Funny how our kids vary in ages!

Hope everyone has a good Friday and good weekend!

Hellooooo!
Good afternoon! I have already been to the new childrens museum with my 9 year old daughter this morning on a bus full of kids this morning! Came home for lunch and have to go back in an hour for play rehearsal. My eyes are trying to adjust to the bright sunlight (even through sunglasses) and I can tell that a headache is approaching. You see, in Michigan, sunlight is a rare entity until this time of year, then it just JUMPS out at you! I already feel like laying down, and I don't have any pain yet, BUT.....I don't have any abortives..This is a problem!!!!!!!! The ER doctor gave me tramadol to try at my last visit. Next time I get a migraine I am going to use it and see if it works. As soon as I get home from rehearsal I am going to lay down with some ice. I would love to enjoy my anniversary dinner with my hubby tonight without a migraine :-)
My oldest had her dance recital last night and she did so awesome. She is getting way too big. When the little ones came out, I cried thinking that I will never see my girls that way again......They both dance on Saturday and I will have to post a picture of them for you all to see :-)

Tracie, I have been reading lots of your posts and sounds like your asthma is improving. How is the quitting smoking going? Or isn't it? I have fought that for years, another story I will share another time...It is so hard!

Heather, are you a teacher?

Cindy, do you live in Arizona or something????

Have a great weekend everyone!

Kristin,

No, I'm not a teacher. I'm just a "band mom". I the band booster president for next year. Several of the parents help with the parties and other events.

I'm an Office Manager for the local dairy council.

Here is a thought... and this is for everyone really.

Sunlight is a HUGE trigger for me. So I took my favorite sunglasses (huge and covered in rhinestones... lol) to my eye doctor, and got new extra dark lenses put in. It cost me $50, but they are now about twice as dark as any sunglasses I have ever seen. Also, they don't get lighter towards the bottom. The whole lens is dark.

I really hope you don't end up with a migraine. Though I have heard Tramadol is a really effective rescue for most people.

Heather: I see your streak is continuing! Rock on!!! Thumbs Up

Jenny; I hope you can get your earache taken care of soon, and it doesn't trigger a migraine for you.

As for me, I did get mig #9, it held at about a 6 for a few hours, but now its down to about a 3. I just took a vicoprofen to kick out the rest of it. I'm just glad the Relpax worked. Smiler

No migraine again yesterday! Whoo-hoo!!! That's two days mig free in a row. Again did the full lockdown blackout approach. I'm giving my brain a chance to heal. Going for three today. Odds are against me as is the weather but if I make it that will be a new record since Jan.

Hello all -

I'm really late in here today. Had my 7 a.m. networking meeting - it was my turn to present and I introduced my new mediation business - that went really well. Then I had 2 meetings out of the office - one to wind down a former business and one with a coach buddy of mine - we coach each other. Both were really good. So I'm just on line for the first time today. Tired too; I think a nap is in my near future. My head has been a little dicey this morning - two nights of not quite enough sleep. Napping should help some.

Cold and rainy here in NJ as a few others have mentioned - it has been pouring hard on and off and the roads are kind of floody. I'm glad to be back in for the duration. Adam has had a relapse of the nasty fluish virus we all had - he's lying around with a high fever. Poor droopy boy.

LauraSue you're on a roll - what a great streak. Fingers Crossed for another mig free day.

Kristin how old are your kids? I know what you mean about looking at the little ones at the dance recital and seeing how that stage in life is gone. My Rachel (17) had her spring choir concert last night and the seniors were doing their last performance and it got very emotional, and I'm thinking, my "little girl" - in one year that will be her!

Heather we're right with you on all the end of year music stuff - concerts this week and next and then the "Music Parents banquet!" What would my social life be without the schools?

Jenny I hope your ear clears up, even if it is better than a migraine. Boy, nothing like a little perspective, eh?

Kat I hope you can weather the weather and get out with your friend.

Congrats Laura on being ready to tackle the dining room again!

Gretchen don't you know they invent paperwork for us faster than we can do it? Have a good day!

Cindy I hope it cools down soon - 100 degrees in the Bay area is just wrong! Maybe some fog to cool things off?

Tracie all this talk about Nutmegan's pregnancy always gives me a momentary jolt - I've always been the only Nutmegan I ever heard of! (It's what my Dad called me when I was little.) Good luck with that! And SOOO glad to hear you feel better today.

Oh by the way, Rachel's room looks almost approaching habitable and she even thanked me. Phew!

- Megs

I haven't checked in for a few days. Things have been crazy at my house, even more than usual. It's hard having two grown children living at home. But with the economy the way it is, we just have to make do the best we can. I have been feeling blue though and feel like I don't want to post and bring everyone down. I had to tritrate off the Namenda. I started to get chest heaviness and pain upon exertion. I had that happen right before I went off the topamax too so it was a familiar feeling. I'm not sure what my doctor will want to try next, we'll see.

Tracie, glad you're feeling better.

Cindy, you and I are in the same boat with the heat. We had 97 yesterday. I sat through my nephews' high school baseball game. Thank goodness for the wind or we would have died. I hadn't seen my nephews in a year so when we found out they were playing in our neck of the woods, we had to go. They lost but I was glad to talk to them for a minute before they hopped the bus to go back home (2 hours away).

Gretchen, try to get your paperwork done so you can enjoy your weekend.

Laura, it's great that you feel great. Don't you love the occasional good days?

Kat and Kristin, I hope your head pain stays at a minimal.

Jen, baby your cold and take care of yourself.

Heather, I was a band mom too a fews ago. Both my boys were in the marching band, drumline, etc. all through high school. One played snare and one played trumpet. We did the section leader drill, the jazz band, the wind ensemble, the drumline, and of course the marching season. It took up every weekend of my life for 5 years. I'm glad it's over but I did enjoy it at the time. You haven't lived until you've had snare sectionals in your living room!
