Good Morning All..
I ran myself ragged yesterday. Didn't sleep to well, and woke with a droopy eye, a not so nice mood and I am ignoring the little tiny guy on my right side of my head I've decided to get the kids off to school and take something early and go back to bed! Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers today Lori |

Hi all!
MJ - glad to hear you got to have the IV yesterday!! Hope you are feeling better today - and yes, I fully support starting the weekend right the heck now!!!!! Not much on the schedule for today. Work, work and more work....then home to make dinner and that's about it. DH and I are going to see our friends band play at a bar tomorrow *head impending* of course.....but I think that should be fun. They are a lot of fun. Not really "hard rock" more folk like I guess. Very different from main stream music, so I really enjoy it. It will be nice to get out of the house, I think we may actually have dinner there! Hope everyone is having a great day!!!!! Good Morning,
Laura I wish you good weather, a nice gentle day that reminds you spring is here and here to stay!! It does the spirit good that's for sure. Lori, I'm glad you're being pro-active and going back to bed and taking care of yourself. Eileen, dinner out, listening to friend's band, sounds like heaven and you get to go with DH!! You go. I feel like a truck hit me. I am not sleeping. I was getting pretty good at it and then the whole thing started with the Zonegran. Ok, I got off that and the Depokote kicked in well. I had so much energy I felt like I had to catch up. But my sleep has been messed up. I wake up every couple of hours most nights. I'm working on it, but the sinus infection played havic with it again. I feel like I have a vicious circle. What I need to do most and I'm not is shut down about 1/2 to and hour before I go to bed. Read or knit. That helps the most. It really quiets me down. I sound like a horse!! I need to get going. Take care everyone. Cindy <url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] |

Good morning everyone.
It's rainy and 41 degrees. Isn't this April? Our cat is home from being declawed. I'm trying to keep him and the dog separated; not fun. And, the cat won't use his box. We replaced the litter with a newspaper litter and he won't have anything to do with it. I hope when it gets bad enough he'll go. Cats are so picky. I tried a new....grain?...last night, quinoa. All this trying to eat healthier. The kids turned thier noses up at lentils and brown rice, I didn't think they'd eat this. They liked it! It looked like couscous. I put butter, onions, parsley, salt and garlic in it and cooked it in chicken stock. I was really surprised. I was going to run some errands but the rain just chased me back home. I have stuff to do here, yes I do (keep saying that Deb, maybe you'll convince yourself to do them!) Laura, glad you're feeling better, Lori, I hope you feel better. Eileen, have fun and Cindy, I hope you can get some sleep. I shut down an hour before bed, and knit and read and it helps. Deb |

Good morning, ladies?
Sparky has walked me, but I'm posting here before I set out by myself. Hope to do an hour today. I stayed the same at my weigh-in on Tuesday, so it's time to up the exercise and watch my diet closer. Laura, I'm so glad you're over your migraine. Be sure not to overdo today. Lori -- you're wise to pamper yourself to head off whatever it is that's developing. Eileen -- A date with DH! Such fun. Do eat dinner out, how exciting! Can you take a triptan early to ward off a monster? Deb, I'm sorry about the nasty weather. Are you triggering much? I've tried quinoa, but it didn't catch on with me. You've inspired me to try it again. Glad your kids liked it. Of course, I love anything cooked with butter, onions and garlic. Cindy -- your sleep problem sounds like it might be a Depakote side effect. Call your doctor? I don't remember exactly, but I think I took trazadone at night while I was taking Depakote to help me sleep. Trazadone is an antidepressant with a sleepiness side effect. It helped me a lot. These days, I'm taking Moban (an antipsychotic) and Ambien for sleep. You shouldn't put up with this. Had a good massage yesterday. Karl can be cruel, but he loosened a lot of stuff up. I've had 3 days in a row with a head that oscillated between 0 and 2, and it didn't slow me down much. This is an enormous improvement. It's awfully early for the verapamil to have kicked in, but I haven't awakened with head pain the last few days. DH had to work late last night, and we met for supper at a branch of one of our favorite downtown restaurants. The food isn't quite the same, but it's still great. Amazing homemade yeast rolls. He came in at about 3am, very interested in some intimacy. That's kind of nice, after 27 years! I don't seem to be the worse from the interruption in sleep. That's much more information than you needed. Have a great, happy day! Gretchen in Mississippi |

Hi all -
Another sunny chilly day here in NJ. Trees are starting to bloom - I saw some beauties when I took Rach to her appointment last night. Funny how spring comes even when it's below freezing almost every night. Thank God for that, anyway. Deb I wish that rain would let you alone. But enjoy your indoor stuff! Cindy I am with you on the rest thing - hard to get it regulated, isn't it? I hope you feel better as the day goes on. Eileen I've got to say that ticker of yours is getting really inspiring! Sounds like a lovely plan for tomorrow night - Lori I'm hoping for you too I'm with you on the sleep issues, Cindy. I've got to stop watching Law & Order at 10 on Weds. TV before bed riles me up. Then I lie down and turn out my light and that's Danny's signal to start getting ready - he moves around turning lights on & off and making noise and just as I'm about ready to drift off he gets in bed and starts snoring! I'm exaggerating - no it's not always like that, he tries so hard to be quiet, but it was like that last night! Currently fatigue is a big issue for me and I get more migraines when I'm fatigued. Feels like a vicious cycle. I'm gonna take this over to the rants folder. Hope you all have great days. - megs |

Hey Gretchen you snuck in on me. Sounds like a nice late night interruption - I had one of those a few nights ago. That's sleep deprivation I don't mind! And I'm so glad for you about the lower pain - great news!
Laura dear sorry I neglected you before. I hope your weather clears up in and outside your head. Time to start enjoying that beach, isn't it? Later dears, Megs |

Good Morning All
I'm definitely better today. Best of all, I DID get on my horse yesterday. It was probably for all of 5 minutes, but was the first time since early November. SO MUCH FUN! Cindy--I can really relate to the sleep issues. I still have major problems--have had for years. I take Seroquel and Alprazolam at the moment although will go back to Lunesta as soon as the shoulder will allow me to sleep. Lori--my very poor DH has to sleep in the guest bedroom. I simply can't sleep in the same bed with him anymore. He can shake the rafters with his snoring and jerks a leg all night. Eileen and Gretchen--good for you for going out. DH gets fed up with me all the time. I never want to go out. Prefer to bring it in. Don't like to cook much anymore either which is too bad. I used to be a great cook! Sorry for all of us who are looking a rain and bad weather. I'm eyeing the nasty-looking horizon at the moment with a bit of dread. Oh well, I can abort with Zomig today if it hits. Am not going to let it prevent todays ride. Tracie |

Cindy -
I'm with you on the not sleeping thing. I feel like the last couple weeks I've been up every couple hours, tossing and turning. I know it must have to do with stress and maybe my meds too, I'm not sure. I just hate not feeling well rested. I am acutally super surprised my head has cooperated as long as it has on this sleep schedule! Tracie - yeah, we are pretty much hermits, but every once in a while, ya just need to say to heck with it and go out! I feel like we always order in - watch movies in - stay in, in, in - I want OUT! Especially when I am feeling good, which I have been (except for stress) lately. Megs how are you doing with your blog contest? Gretchen - Oh a massage sounds wonderful! I need to get me one of those!!! LOL Deb - if ya got left overs - I'll take 'em! It sounds good to me!!!! Lori - take some time for you girl! Hi everyone!
(Gretchen -- whoo hoo!) I have a call in to my mig specialist. I'm still having almost continuous migraines, average of 15 a month, basically every other day, for five months now, since my progesterone misadventure. In the past, I was unable to tolerate the side effects of the four anti-convulsants he tried me on (Depakote, Zonegran, Topamax and Keppra). But I'm going to ask him if I come off a couple of my fibro and IBS meds (Elavil and Bentyl), if there's an anti-convulsant that's less constipating that I could try. The incentive to try it is higher than it was when I was only having 5 migraines a month. I hesitate to go into this much detail because everyone has such different experiences with meds. With my fibro sensitivity to meds, my situation is very different from most of you. But even though it may prompt some discussion, I wanted to share it with you, my friends, my support group. Just so you know what's up. Oh, and I'm not status migranous because I'm pain-free most of the day, every day. And it's not due to MOH, according to my doctor. It's just crazy hormones from menopause and progesterone. Lucky me, huh? Keep your fingers crossed for me okay? Prayers accepted too. LauraSue. (I'm 55, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.) |

My yard is so lovely. with camellias and azaleas blooming If the rain stops, I may just bundle up (it's about 61 outside) & take a cup of decaf out & sit on my dock for a while. Wish I could whisk all y'all down here for a REAL tea party! Rebecca |

Afternoon All..
Thanks for your thoughts, I am feeling better so going back to bed this morning was a good idea. I figure I was so busy and I didn't eat or sleep very good yesterday. Major triggers for me! I hope today is going better for those who had a rough start. I am keeping everyone in my thoughts. Stay Happy and Pain Free Lori |

Hi all,
I'm still menstrual migraining- yuck. But, so far today, the Frova is my best friend. I still have pain, but at least I'm outta bed. Last night I was cramping so badly that I took a Toradol shot and it made them feel all better. (Also helped my head & neck pain!) I'm not allowed any over the counter pain meds, so I was pretty miserable. My cramps have gotten increasingly bad now that I'm off the pill. I made some bread today--Sally Lunn. It failed to rise fully but it still tastes okay! LauraSue- You mentioned you're looking for another anticonvulsant. Have you asked your dr. about Lyrica? It is the only medication that is FDA approved for fibro. I just started it at the end of Jan for my migraines.
