Good morning,
I hope everyone is feeling well today! My brain is holding it's own despite the nasty weather outside. Well, Paulie is at it again. We had to make another trip to the ER yesterday. He injured his ankle in gym class yesterday while playing basketball. The doctor wasn't sure if it is a fracture at the growth plate or torn ligaments. I’ll know more on Monday after he sees the Ortho surgeon. This should guarantee a reserved spot for my family at the ER. We have company coming in from out of town this weekend so today I’m cleaning and then I’ll be cooking for twice as many people. Wish me luck! Cooking is not my strongest point. Enjoy your weekend everyone!! Laura Forum Moderator ***You're welcome to enter your birthday, etc in the Celebrate folder so we can party with you!! =) *** |

Good Morning,
I'm up early trying to become functional. I have a 6 am call that I need to sound professional and coherent at. Thank goodness I only have to speak, not spell. Laura, good luck with the company. Cooking for many more is always challaging on the best of days. The family is used to what we cook, the company is not. Take last night, DS loved my charred chicken, company would not have been nearly as impressed. The grill just got out of hand, the skin was just "blackened" the meat was fine. I'm going into San Francisco to meet a friend from out of town tomorrow. We'll go to Golden Gate park to the Conservatory of Flowers and then the de Young museum. I've never been to the de Young. It moved to GG Park a number of years ago. It should be a lovely day. Ann is always great fun. I miss her since she moved. I guess I'll try and eat before the conference call. Maybe it will help wake me up. Take care everyone, Cindy |

Good morning, gals!
So far, so good this morning. Sparky is asleep at my feet, ready to take his dog pills (he takes five different ones!) and take me for my walk. I've got to take my meds, too. I usually take my Mom pills before he gets his dog pills. He takes them in a glob of peanut butter. Amazing how we try to turn our pets into little furry human beings! My schedule includes walking. I made my hour yesterday and plan to do it again today. I started weeding yesterday and will finish that today. I've got some stuff to plant and to transplant. This is an outstanding spring. Even the bearded iris, which haven't bloomed since I can't remember, are blooming. I thought they were white, but these are the blue/purple ones. Laura -- poor Paulie. My youngest brother broke his arm 6 times growing up. Once, he tripped over his own feet at the pool, the afternoon he got his cast off, and broke the arm in another place. He had horribly flat feet, and he stopped falling and breaking his arm after he got them fixed when he was 14. Spent 12 weeks in casts for that one, with 6 weeks completely off his feet. Good luck with your company, and here's hoping the monsters stay in the closet. My mom always goes into orbit when she's got company coming. Cindy -- We went to San Francisco with a wonderfully fun group a year and a half ago. We were entranced. We didn't get to Golden Gate Park; there's only so much you can do in 4 days. But it's a beautiful place. They're predicting rain for today. We got an inch on Wednesday, but we could use more. Rebecca -- I hope you come by today. I loved your description of your dogwood -- "Like a tall girl ready for her First Communion." Perfect description. Gretchen in Mississippi |

Good morning guys -
Been ADHAing since I got in from my business meeting this morning. I'm kind of in overdrive here - need to quiet myself down and settle in. Head's good today. Was awake half the night for no good reason. Danny slept quietly so I can't blame him. I've got my course again tomorrow (just Saturday this weekend, thank goodness) and a lot to get done today but I'm just going to have to choose the most important stuff and let go of the rest or you know I will drive myself right into migraine land! Gretchen have a good walk and enjoy the weeding. If we just had a warm dry day when I wasn't working (or sick) I'd be out there tending to my flower beds. I'll live vicariously through you! Cindy hope your call went well. You were up early - holy smokes! Laura sorry about Paulie - hope the news isn't too bad and he has whatever will heal the quickest! Good luck with your company. Eileen when you pop in here you asked me yesterday about the weirdest triggers contest I'm doing on my blog. I haven't gotten any entries yet though several people said they plan to enter. I did set the deadline for the end of the month, so people have a while still. But please do share your weird trigger stories - this could be a lot of fun. Mornin yall!
Well we are having a nice wet rainy day. I emailed my senators today! It feels good to do something, anything to help! Laura, YIKES hope Paulie is ok! Keep us posted. That sounds a bit worse than what my Chris did. He tried jumping his bike to impress the cute 13 year old that lives next door... Wiped out bigtime. now he has a fat lip, swollen bruised eye, with road rash on his face, shoulder, elbow, and a huge lump on his knee. Nothing serious, just looks nasty! Think his pride hurt worse Gretchen, you can have some of our rain! we always have MORE than enough! Always raining here! Megs hun! you make me tired! Slow down hun and take care of yourself so the beastie stays away! Dar, GOOD LUCK ZACK!!! Tawsha |

Hi, everyone!!
Feeling pretty good today, almost like a normal person...that won't last lol! Actually, my head has been hurting a little since mid-morning, but I got in the shower and washed my hair before it hit. Now the rest of the day is free. Spoke to my doc, he agreed about coming off the Elavil and Bentyl, surprised me by saying to taper off the Frova too (since it wasn't helping, that makes sense). Then when I see him next month, we'll talk about Depakote, Topamax or Lyrica. So at least we have a plan -- that gives me some hope to hold on to. In the meantime, I expect the beasties will just keep coming every other day on average. If I do better, great, if I do worse, it will pass. Wish I had the energy to garden. I have a window box, but right now, just by opening the shades the light is so bright it triggers me! It's all I can manage to keep the indoor plants watered and my Christmas cactus needs plant food -- it's turning purple on the ends. Oh, I just noticed my counter! I've made it 1 month and 2 weeks. That's longer than last month. Keeping my fingers crossed. Gotta get to one year! Have a good day, all! LauraSue. (I'm 54, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.) MENOPAUSE COUNTDOWN: |

Good grief, I just looked at the time--Good afternoon all--
The Texas weather got me!!! The migraine started low around 9 last night, took a Zomig NS and added my beloved oxygen. But I had this really super book and finished it at 2 a.m. I know I can't do that--but man was it good. Then around 5:30, whee-hah, the storm hit! Huge lightning and thunder, hail, boom, crash, thud! So the migraine said hi a good bit louder! Took another Zomig, then when it was still with me but not so bad, an alprazolam and slept until noon. As usual that did it. I'm now good. Wish I could say the same for our DirecTV. The dish got knocked out of alignment by the hail apparently, so it's VCR and DVDs for the weedend for us. (Just a slight problem when you live in the country) Cindy--When I accidentally "overcook" something, I just put on my best cajun accent and called it "blackened" whatever. There are so many ways to make "blackened" dishes, that they mainly seem to have one thing in common around here not in the heart of cajun country. They're usually a bit crispy. Laura--Hope Paulie is doing better. Breaking a bone is NEVER a fun thing. Gretchen--If you ever have the desire to do more weeding I could give you directions to my house. Things are so bad here, that I need to get landscapers to clean everything up and start over. Do have lots of good natural fertilizer though. And I can pay in fresh eggs. I get 10/day from the girls. Sounds like everyone else, save for a little too much stress (???) is doing good so far. May it keep up!!! Tracie |

Hi everyone,
Haven't been around lately...rotten long-term migraine! I'm hoping my 10-day steroid taper and extended use of Imitrex injections will help. For now, I'm trying to handle the jittery lack of sleep I always get with the steroid. On top of the mig, the kids and I have caught a crummy cold. So last night, none of us slept. If it wasn't my steroid, it was my fever or one of the kids calling for me because of their fevers... We'll be well soon. We've just crawled in our cave for a little while til we all start to feel a little better. Sorry--not feeling well enough to say hi to each of you! Maybe tomorrow! Sending |

Ok, I had "cologne boy" in my car today. It took all the strength I had to NOT say, "Geez, Tommy! Did you BATHE in it?"
I don't think I posted here today. Still gritting my teeth - but not at night, just during the day. It runs in cycles....I guess. Kath is at the mall with cologne bo....errr...Tommy. Just the two of them. Is it a date? I don't know! Kath swears he's just a friend; she liked him once, but he seems protective of her and they text all the time. I don't know what he is. Who is watching American Idol? I have to say, I'm liking that David Cook. He's my pick for winner. |

Just wanted to share the news!!!!
I just made an appt with Dr. K!! Since I am actually in good control I'll be seeing him the first of June which should make work scheduling easier for me. As close to me as he is, seemed kind of dumb not to go for a consult, but you guys are going to think I'm truly weird, but I felt a bit awkward just because I AM in control. Tracie |

Laura- Oh no! Your poor son! Good luck this weekend! I hope all goes well. I know you can do it!
Jenny- Hugs and love to you, my friend. Oh, I'm so sorry it is rotten in your house. Sending prayers your way. Nut - Have a great time the next 10 days. Hope you have fun! Tracie- I think that is awesome that you are going to see Dr. K!!! Way to go on scheduling that appt! As for me, it has been a rotten day. I'm STILL menstrually migraining. The Frova did not kick it. A friend "fit me in" and came for a visit. It was great to see her. I'm still SUPER hungry all the time. I'm trying to drink more H20 and eat more fiber to fill me up (thx for the reminder, MJ!). I'm now 8 lbs over my ideal weight. Yuck. I'm SO happy it is Friday, cause now I get to spend time with my best friend all weekend (DH). He always makes me smile. Take care, you all. Yeah, I know, Tawsha, I make me tired too! It's not that I do that much, it's just that I always think I should! It wasn't that busy a day, just frustrating because I had to pay bills and the stupid Quicken program kept hanging, took FORever! It's stressful enough to pay the bills right now without it taking hours and hours. I did that, spent time responding to AHDA, hung out and worked on line some, and took Adam to tutoring. Did my "homework" for my course while Adam was with the tutor. Took a pretty long nap. Didn't get much actual work done. And now I'm pooped again. Have to go to my course tomorrow. Thank goodness I get a 2+ week break before the next part of the course. I hope everybody who wasn't feeling well feels better tonight. Sleep well.
