morning everyone Group Hug

Ive not been about, but I have been thinking about you all! Saw my doc the other day, and he said the pleurisy is clearing up! thank goodness. I have to go back to see him on Friday, and fingers crossed, all being okay, should be back to work next week. Although it will be difficult after being off for so long!

Chico has been keeping me on my toes (as usual). Barry has been getting a hard time form his employers, and so we have decided they can put their job where the sun dont shine! Confused Will we struggle financially? yes, but what new!!!! They even said they wouldnt pay him sick money! We were so angry!

Rebekah has been at respite. Barry and I were meant to be going to Wales on Fridya for a long weekend - but we just havent been well enough! We have managed to move it till just after xmas! So we will go on the 27th for 3 days! It was weither that or lose the holiday and we had already paid for it (and were that cheap we didnt take out hte insurance Roll Eyes ). But then, I wasnt expecting to have swine flu, ear infections, bronchitis and pleurisy now was I?

Anyway, hope evryone is doing okay - and i will tyr and read up later today and how everyone is doing!

take care

Good morning ladies!

It's going to be another beautiful day here in Virginia once the sun warms it up a bit. It's super cold right now but we're going to get close to 70 today!! Sweet!

DS#2 is in bed with what I hope is just his regular cold. It came on fast last night with a fever and cough and this morning he said he felt to sick to go to school so back to bed he went. He's not one to miss school so I know he's feeling cruddy. He's going to miss school pictures though but I'm sure there will be a make up day for them.

My doctor's office and the kids's doctor ran out of the seasonal flu shot two weeks ago and said our best bet is to try and go on base for it so I'm going to try and get over there on Thursday. They have such limited hours it's going to be a mad dash from the dentist to the base clinic but I think we can make it. Hopefully, the base hasn't run out, they never answer their phone when I call.

Gail-Many hugs your way. I'm glad to hear you're starting to feel semi-normal again. So sorry you had to cancel your vacation plans, that stinks!

Take care!

Morning ladies-
I've been MIA for a while. I just posted a long post in the support folder as to why. Things have been tough for the last few weeks.

Gail-I'm so glad you are getting better! I hope it improves. Poo on Barry's employers. I hope he can find something soon.

Laura-I hope DS#2 gets feeling better. The weather here is cold this AM too, but we're due to hit near 70 also-beautiful after what we've had.

I hope everyone is feeling better today and thawing out! Group Hug all the way around today
Lynn

Ah, yes! We're warming up here, too.

Beautiful sunshine, & the dogs are in the kennel for the day. It's about 60 outside, & heading for around 70.

I overdid yesterday, so am trying to avoid (hide from?) The Beast today. I still have a long "punch list" to work through, but will take things one at a time.

Gail, I'm glad you are on the mend. Barry's employers need to take a long walk on a short dock. Y'all's holiday will be very nice, coming right after Christmas.

Laura, I'm sorry DS#2 is feeling so bad. Hope your Trursday runs smooth as silk.

Lynn, I understand about rough times. I've been having a rough run myself. Wish we could get together in reality for a pot of tea & a long talk. Group Hug and Birthday Cake anyway.

Here's Fingers Crossed for sunshine and a great day for all of us.

Hi everyone,

Just stopping by for a second before I had of to see my PCP. DS9 and I both have something that seems a whole lot like the flu. Fever, stuffy nose, horrible cough, achy--YUK! I had it for a while, but started feeling better. Then this cough came back with a vengeance. And the fever. We'll see what the doc says. The kids' school has many, many kids absent this week. I'm wondering if the flu has finally hit our area...

If you have a free second and can spare some prayers/happy thoughts, please send a few to my DS9. He has asthma and this illness is hitting him pretty hard. Lots of wheezing and many scary moments.

Lynn, I'm thinking of you today. I sure hope lots of rest and good meds will help you to feel better very soon.

Laura, I sure hope your DS recovers very quickly!

Gail, I'm glad to hear you're starting to feel a little better. So sorry about your trip! It'll be nice to go after Christmas, though...

Gotta go. I need a shower before heading off to the doc's office.

Nikoli is home a second day. He always feels great in the morning, it's the afternoon when he tends to relapse. I have no choice but to take him with me to drop off his H1N1 vaccine permission slip, get his homework and go buy stamps. I'll try to do it while he's still feeling well.

Kath was such a sweetheart doing a minimal shopping trip for me yesterday. She's just a gem.

Gail, I hope you guys are finally on the mend.

Laura, I hope DS2 just has a cold - I've been every watchful with Nikoli; sometimes these things take a turn for the worse.

Take care Lynn.

Rebecca, run, run from the beast!

Jenny, prayers for your son. Group Hug

Fundraise at McDonald's tonight for Kath's senior class - anything to get out of cooking today.

Finally checking in. I've had a rough couple of days. The nausea along with the migraine has really been killing me since Sunday. And my neck is horrendous. I'm really about ready to give up on PT all together. I have 5 more appointment scheduled before I go back to see the doctor. But I really don't want to blow the $100 if I'm just going to be in more pain. I'm worse today than yesterday, and yesterday I stayed home from work. Didn't have that luxury today. Have to work both jobs. Not sure how I'm going to make it til 12:30am... Frowner

I just can't take it anymore. I keep saying I need to make some serious changes in my life... but I can't bring myself to do it. I really need to grow a pair and just do it.

Glad the Pats kicked butt Sunday. A little bummed the Giants lost (considering Eli wasn't much help on my Fantasy team). Deb, I know the feeling about there not being baseball to watch Frowner Sorry your Rams are stinking...

Gail - glad to hear you're feeling better. Sorry about Barry's work.

Laura - hope your son feels better! And that you can get your flu shots.

Lynn - read your supports post. I really hope you can find something to help with the asthma Fingers Crossed

Rebecca - good luck hiding from the beast. I really need to learn to do that better.

Jenny - I hope you and DS9 feel better, everyone seems to be sick... Frowner

Deb - hope Nikoli gets over his cold soon!

Jamie - glad you're home, we've missed you!

Ok, time to head of to job #2.

Ah, really? It's only Tuesday? Bummer.

They are doing the roof at my job....it stinks like bleach....thanks! I needed a trigger today. I am just wishing for the day to fly by. Not too bad though, only 2 hours left for me.

My brain feels like it's being squeezed. Great. I'm going to get some coffee and walk away from the screen for a bit.

Hope you all have a great day!

Hey ho my pals -

I am on day 2 of miserable miserable sinus infection. Worked at the store today. Got home at about 3 and I'm lying down now. I will go to my PCP tomorrow and ask for some antibiotics - and hope he's in one of those moods where he doesn't get on a high horse about me asking for what I want! Roll Eyes

One of my neighbors is starting a supper co-op - three families, each has one night a week to prepare and deliver dinner for all three. That way, one night you have to cook 3x as much, but 2 nights you don't have to cook at all and you get a hot meal delivered free. Pretty sweet! We're going to join in. I'm really excited.

My head is so clogged today and sinuses getting achy, I'm afraid a Migraine may not be far behind. The two nasties often go hand in hand. I'm lying on the bed with my Midnite kitty snoring quietly next to me. makes me sleepy!

Gail I'm so glad you're finally feeling better. Sorry you had to postpone your trip but it will surely be nice to get away then. Where in Wales? (I've been there once.)

Laura good luck with those flu shots! Are you taking your DS who's sick? We have to get them too - but we all want to be well first. Roll Eyes

Lynn I'm going to go read your support thread - didn't know you were MIA, since I was too...

Rebecca hope you can pace yourself and avoid the Beast!

Jenny hope you feel better! Sending well thoughts & prayers you and DS's way!

Deb hope Nikoli feels better.

Welcome back our Jamiekins!

Meli sweetheart... you are wearing yourself into the ground girl. I know it's hard, but your body is screaming at you to give it some time to recover.

Eileen hope you manage with all the triggers at work today! Fingers Crossed

I've got a lot of writing to do but not much brain to do it. Wish I could have stayed home from the store and done my writing instead, but I don't want to lose that job and I feel like I need to save my calling out for the Migraines. I'll do what I can but I mostly just have to rest now.

See you all later!

- Megan

Oh ick. I've got the flu. And pneumonia, too. My doc just called with the positive result from my nasal swab (which was a crummy, uncomfortable test, by the way). And the chest xray didn't look too good. I'll know if it's H1N1 or just seasonal flu tomorrow. *Sigh* Now I have to worry about DS9. If he starts wheezing any worse, I'll be taking him to the children's ER.

I wish DH didn't work so much! It'd be nice to have someone to help out this evening.

Deb, I hope Nikoli feels well soon. Are they giving the H1N1 vaccine at school? We don't even have it available around here.

Jamie, welcome home! I'm glad Dr. K is such a wonderful guy.

Meli, did you talk to your doc about your trouble after PT? If not, it might be worth placing a call.

Eileen, I'm sorry to hear about the roof! And I saw your vent in the other folder--I sure hope things turn around for you at the office. Do you think it's time to talk with your FIL and let him know that you'd like to take on more?

Megs, I'm sorry to hear you're under the weather, too! Please take good care of yourself! And get lots of rest. Oh, your supper co-op sounds great! How do you make sure that you make food that most folks in the group like? Or do you just risk it?

Gotta go. My pillow is calling. And maybe some Motrin. And cough medicine. And maybe a quarantine area that I can live in until this ick goes away.

Jenny,

Yeah, I don't think he cares. He has pretty much mentally checked himself out of this job. All he seems to do is get angry about stupid things. He knows I'd like to do more, but I just don't think he really cares! Maybe it's because I'll want more $$ - or he thinks I will. I really wouldn't. I don't know. I'm here for about 5 years until the market comes back and then I'm out of here. DH and I want to move out of the state. I can't wait for that day to come.

I now have Nikoli's crud. I have been coughing my fool head off all afternoon. Throat is sore from the coughing, headache/migraine from the coughing. No fever, no aching, no feeling like I've been hit by a truck; perhaps a compact car. Roll Eyes

Jenny, what a terrible combination! Take care of yourself and I'll continue with the prayers for your son. Group Hug

And yes, my kids will be getting the H1N1 vaccine - the permission slips were due today. Due to my kids' history of asthma at various times in their lives, they will be getting the shot and not the nasal mist.

EEEEKKKKK! I hope you're all so much better soon. Flu of both swine and seasonal varieties are really taking a toll here in Billings. Last week one middle school had 26% of the population out sick. This week it's really been rolling into our middle school. We've had teachers out along with kids. I heard one of our science teachers sent five kids down to the office with flu-like symptoms by lunchtime today. It's crazy! They've also stopped testing to see if it's swine or seasonal, since the treatment's the same.

On an unrelated note, I see that The Road has been pushed back yet again, to November 25th or somesuch. I'm beginning to wonder if it'll ever get released. The preview I watched looked very intriguing.
