Hope you have a safe flight!
We got sleet and rain all day yesterday and should get snow flurries on Saturday. YAHOO!! The paint fumes from the apartment my folks are building in the garage finally got to me last night and I had to take an Indocin before bed but I woke up with no head pain. Here's to hoping today will be perfect for us all! http://sparklingwithcrystals.blogspot.com/ basilar-artery migraine, MAV, BPPV, migraine with and without aura, cluster headaches, but no tension headaches! Good morning -
Had my tea earlier so I'm here with my glass of water - staying hydrated! I made it to Rachel's concert last night which was beautiful! Managed to get out and get her some flowers for after, so I felt really good about it. Have had almost constant low level headache every day this week. I wake up with it and it fades in the middle of the day and comes back stronger in the late afternoon. At least it's low level. Only moved into migraine once. I am dealing with it by trying to keep calm & quiet, deep breathing, lots of water, plenty of sleep, resting for a bit each afternoon. I haven't taken anything for it - the only thing I'm allowed right now is this choline salt of aspirin - what Danny calls "your pain-duller" - which is only very slightly better than nothing, so I mostly don't bother. I am trying not to worry - counting my blessings - it could be so much worse - but I'm a very practiced and skillful worrier so I can't seem to cut it out entirely. Eileen - ready for some snow/sleet/rain today? I hope to actually see some white stuff - tired of this gray winter! Problem is I've got to be driving the kids around all afternoon - their choirs are cutting a cd and they have to be at recording sessions in the same place (20 minutes away) at slightly different times - drop offs at 4 and 4:30, pick ups at 7:30 and 8 - I may be out all afternoon in the weather unless I get Danny to take some of it. Wish me luck. Laura I hope the flight is smooth and uneventful (both inside your head and out). Jamie hope you're feeling better and getting something out of the rest of the trip - or getting back home safe. 4 weeks to headache dr. appointment! Talk to you later. - Megs Free our brains from migraine pain my blog: www.meganoltmanfreemybrain.typepad.com E-course on Managing Life with Migraine at www.takebackyourlifefrommigraine.com |

Here I am, EARLY (at least for me), wishing everyone a great day. We haven't done our walks yet. First Sparky walks me, then I walk myself. Sparky's walk is around the block, max, VERY slowly. I walk either 30, 45, or 60 minutes, depending on what route I take and how I feel.
I AM going to weigh in this morning. According to my scale at home, I've broken through the wall I found at 176. It only took about 10 days. It too MONTHS to break through 200. I see my migraine specialist Tuesday, and I'll check with my Diet Center counselor today so that I can tell Dr. Brandes how much I've lost in the last 7 weeks. I can't tell you how good it feels to be getting this weight off! Megs -- My mom is a professional worrier. She inherited it from her dad, and her brother is a professional, too. So I know what you're talking about. Laura -- no, you're not a wuss for missing your family. I'll be gone 3 days (2 nights) seeing my specialist, and I'll call home every night. Thanks goodness for free cell phone long distance! I try to remember to leave a note on DH's pillow before I leave. Of course, that means I have to make the bed! I finally e-mailed the yoga instructor I want to study with to find out about when I should start classes. I've got some phone calling and paperwork to do, and I'll work on that today. And I want to get the documents for our taxes at least organized into folders. Our judicial bribery scandal keeps growing wider. No new guilty pleas, but word is that all the good criminal lawyers in the state are taken, and you have to go out of state to find a criminal lawyer to represent you in this thing. It's kind of fun, but horrifying, to read all the blogs. Gretchen in Mississippi A good day to all! |

Megs, That is great about Rachels concert. I love watching my children too. And Gretchen, you make gave me a giggle this morning when I read about Sparky walking you. I have a lab named Capt Jack Sparrow (okay, you'll never guess what my daughter's favorite movie was when we got him ha ha) anyways, Capt. Jack drags me around every morning. I have to catch up on paper work, since Wednesday was I was a wash, so I will be busy with work today and tomorrow. (Good thing I'm the boss) My head is still foggy, but I will make the best of it. Have a great day Dar |

Howdy everyone!
I woke up this morning to the sound of my son coughing and wheezing--BAD asthma attack. Three breathing treatments later, he was considerably better! Thank goodness no visit to the ER was needed this time! Actually, he was good enough to head into school late. I just got back from taking him. Now I'll stay home all day just in case he has more trouble. They only have a nurse at the school part time, so the secretary always calls me to come in if he needs an inhaler or nebulizer. My whole family's down with a nasty cold. DH had pneumonia and the kids are both so stuffy they can't sleep. I've managed to get an ear infection on top of the yucky, runny nose. Ick. Eileen--It's snowing lightly here in PA. That means this weather is headed your way! It's supposed to be snow, rain, or freezin rain all day long here. I dread the ice! DH works quite a distance from home (1.5 hour drive away) and he always has trouble getting home on icy days. Megs, you're definitely right! We need some snow! Not these lousy dustings of snow...we need a HUGE, school-is-closed, everyone-has-to-stay-indoors kind of snow! Laura, I don't even like being away from my family for the day! Of course you're not a wuss for missing them! Im sure they'll be thrilled to have you home--and feeling well! MW, glad you're feeling better this morning. Paint fumes rank right up there with smoke and perfume for me--UGH!! Gretchen, you're doing such a good job with your weight loss! Hi Dar! You snuck in there while I was writing my post! You and Gretchen need to bring your dogs over to my house. I have a terrier who is only 14 lbs--but she thinks she's a Great Dane! The other day she started picking on the neighbor's lab--he's like 5 times her size!! She was barking and yapping at him like she was the one in charge. Typical terrier personality, I guess...They always seem to think they're much stronger than they really are! I hope you all have a wonderful day today! Stay warm and dry! |

Good morning all!
I woke up this morning feeling very groggy, and my migraine pain was already at a 3. Drat. I took Frova yesterday at work and Imitrex earlier in the week, so I really have to try not to take anything today. I think all you east coasters are now getting the storm that dumped actual snow here on Monday night. And the weird thing is that the snow is still around! Snow *never* sticks around this long. It's pretty! Laura, I'm sending good thoughts your way for an uneventful and safe trip home. You are not a wuss at all for missing your family! I miss DBF terribly if we're away from each other even one night, and we used to live 3000 miles away from each other! I don't know how we did it. MW, paint fumes are a big trigger for me, too, but I've discovered certain brands of paint are worse than others. Megs, I am SO glad to hear you made it to Rachel's concert! Gretchen, big congrats on your weight loss! You are doing so well! Jenny, I'm sending positive thoughts your way so your son doesn't have to go home. And I'm hoping you and your family all feel much better, and soon! Mornin yall!
Jenn, AW ss your family is sick Megs and jenn. YES thats the type of snow we need to! And we are ready for it too. Been freezing hard last few days, clear and cold so the ground isnt wet. GOOD time to snow hard and good sticking! We got a few light flurries this AM but no real moisture supposed to be here until Sat. Well TY all for your thoughts and prayers yesterday! I got to go! I decided instead of driving I'd pop a phenegrin and couple midrin, as my nausea and pain was so bad. It helped some, though the refs whistle felt like a knife! It was great seeing him wrestle, though he lost his match, he wrestled hard. This was his first year ever wrestling, so he is still learning. We are signing him and another one of our boys up to a year round mat club. Next year he will be pinning everyone! Megs, SO glad your daughters concert went well! My oldest is in choir too, and plays piano for the choir as well. (all 4 boys have taken piano, and one moved on to clarinet. rest are still playing piano or choir) I think its SO sweet ya got flowers for her! |

Hi everybody,
I'm imagining group hugging everybody! L-Wishing you a safe trip! E-I hope you get that snow you are hoping for. It is snowing here as we speak. I'll tell it to blow your way. MW-I'm hoping for a paint-fume headache-free day today! M-So happy you got to your daughter's concert! I always loved it when my mom got me flowers. It must've made her feel so special. G-CONGRATS on your weight loss! Every pound is a victory I say! Way to go! You should be so proud of yourself! D-I love your dog's name. It is so cold here. I can't imagine walking my dog outside. The wind chill just makes it unbearable. J-I hope your fam get's well soon. Is your DH going to work despite his pneumonia? I'll be praying everyone gets better over there. MJ-I hope your pain level decreases. I know the feeling about the med limbo. Doing that myself. T-Yahoo! I'm so happy to hear you got to go to your son's match. Sorry you were in pain though. I have a pair of earplugs always in my purse. I wear them everywhere there are people b/c things are just too loud (restaurants/church/mall). Have you thought of that? Well, I could tell what kinda day it was going to be when after I got outta the shower, I tried to put a second bra on over the one I already had on. hehe. I guess I need a lot of "support" today! Oh man. It has been quite a couple of days. I was in bed all day yesterday with terrible head pain. Today is the same although I'm trying to get up some. The shower made it worse...obviously I was a little out of it with the clothing thing. I think I am a little disappointed with my pain because I feel like it is my fault. I pushed myself hard a few days ago/perhaps past my limits and now I feel like maybe I this headache/migraine is because it. I know I can't go back and change the past. But it just stinks. I tried dancing to distract myself and help me feel better. I have this card my mom gave me that plays the chorus to "I Will Survive". It is upbeat. I just stood up and bopped to the music a bit. It didn't help my head, but it helped my mood. Alright. Have a good day you all. my blog: http://flywithhope.blogspot.com/ "Though perseverance does not come from our power, yet comes within our power." - St. Francis de Sales |

Hi all -
Jenny - thanks for sending the snow our way - it's coming down like billy-o and sticking! So pretty and it makes me feel so peaceful. i took the kids to their recording session - no problem. And Danny got home from his meetings so he gets to pick them up later - yay! i'm in for the evening! Had a long chat this afternoon with my neighbor who has migraines - the one who recommended the neuro. Nice to get to know her and to have someone nearby to talk to about this. Hope everyone's day is going well at this point - Kelly don't beat yourself up - remember we are not going to be perfect, we don't need to be perfect, and sometimes we'll overdo it. I guess you're human, huh? MJ I do hope you feel better! Got to get back to work for a little while - then I'm going to finish taking down the Christmas tree (see Gretchen, you're way ahead of me!) - Megs Free our brains from migraine pain my blog: www.meganoltmanfreemybrain.typepad.com E-course on Managing Life with Migraine at www.takebackyourlifefrommigraine.com |

Eileen --
If you'd like to veg out over this judicial bribery thing, check out YallPolitics.com. There's some really good information and analysis. And two of the guys at DH's office, the CFO and one of the other lawyers, are on a couple of gossip lists and get the latest dirt, much of which has proved to be true. If only it didn't make me want to throw up ... Gretchen in Mississippi |

Hey, all.
Just sitting here and polishing off my Pepsi, planning on cruising the forum until Grey's Anatomy starts in an hour. This afternoon was interesting. I had to go to the clinic after school to wait for my mom, who was having a laser treatment on her eye. There was a lady there that was so incredibly loud, "watching" her loud and all-over-the place niece and nephew. I kept hoping that one of the staff at the check-in desk would ask them to be mindful of others and quiet it down, but they didn't. Maybe they would have if it wasn't the opthalmology department. If it had been the walk-in part, where the waiting people were sick, maybe they would've. I almost told the check-in people that if my mom was to come out looking for me (she got there ahead of me), to tell her I went for a walk and would be back so I could escape the obnoxious noise. Some people just have no manners. Sheesh! Naturally, the laser treatments were all backed up, and my mom didn't even get started until it was an hour-and-a-half past her check in. Bonus time ~ double whammy. At least I'm home now, where it's warm and cozy. I'll have a nice mug of tea and my fuzzy blanket in a bit. Dragondrool Forum Moderator ~~8=:>>>> |
