Good morning! Where is everybody? It's 9am here.

MJ -- Thanks for the Miralax info. It's available OTC. I didn't know it was available as an Rx. I'll ask my pharmacist whether it's cheaper OTC or by Rx. My generic co-pay is $10. I'd still have to buy the OTC for the dog, unless I can get the vet to Rx it.

Got a lot done in the garden, but I'll spend more time today. Didn't get to the nursery to get bedding plants, but got almost everything else planted, and some decisions made. Also walked 90 minutes and had a nice visit with a long-time neighbor I'd never met. He lives two blocks away, but it's a different subdivision with different homeowners association. He's got a beautiful shade garden/yard. I'm envious. He's going to dig up some native fern and give it to me when he does. Nice neighbor.

I hope everyone's day is great and that the reason why I'm the first is that everyone else is too busy and feeling too good to check in.

Just work today. Just work. DD is headed out of town today for her SW regional crew championship races this weekend. I'll go up on Saturday to watch. All her races are on Saturday so I don't have to stay over.

Nala is waking DBF and I both up at least once during the night. I need to talk to the vet again. I have upped her pain med to 4 times a day from 3. I really don't see the problem at this point. She just isn't happy.

I gotta go. Take care everyone.

Hi all...

alas, day 3 of the beastie Frowner two good things tho
1) instead of talking about it, i actually asked my boss for a half day, which was granted, so im only working for another 45 minutes... good thing too... computer screen is getting pretty blurry...
2) i usually only get 3 days in a row so i probably won't get one tomorrow, which is good b/c i have plans with a girlfriend of mine...

bad thing is i have to take an important test in school tonite... hopefully some nap time will help me kick this before school starts at 5:30...

gwp- glad your having a good day
cindy- im so sorry to hear about your poor nala... i hope she takes a turn for the much better soon! in the meantime Group Hug

Good Morning.

I hope everyone has a good Thursday. I'm so ready for my mini-vacation to Houston. Me and my son went shopping yesterday evening to get our snacks for the road. I think we are all ready to go. I just have to do some last minute packing.

I hope the weather will be nice. I need to check the forecast.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. I'll be checking in on Monday.

Hi all!

Please forgive my posts today if they don't make sense, I'm on rescue meds today.

Yep good 'ol migraine! It started yesterday about 5pm and has not let up. I'm already maxed out on Frova for the week, so that's that.

I'm thinking I might call my dr. and see if he does IV therapy just to see. I know that it's early to be thinking status migranous, but I'd really like to not be in pain! Yes

It's been 16 1/2 hours now so I am jumping the gun a bit, but it's knowledge that I'd like to know anyway, plus if the migraine keeps up, I can't keep taking rescue tomorrow so I need to know what I would need to do.

Ah great!

I hope you all are having a better day!

Hi everyone,

Eileen and I are in the same boat. I got hit with my migraine Tuesday night at my son's friend's Confirmation. I had a break from it yesterday for a little while but woke up with it again in the middle of the night.

I took a hot shower and my rescue meds so I can try and forum for a little while, but I want to apologize in advance if my posts are filled with incorrect spellings and/or grammer.

I'm sorry so many of us are in pain today. Get better everybody!!

Eileen,

You know when you need to do something extra for your pain - listen to your body. I hope you feel better!

I have actually had a couple of decent weeks...pain level 3/4 on a daily basis - but not up past 7- which is a record for me....

Take care and wishing all pain free days!

Well, I'm drinking diet coke, not tea, but I'm still here today.

Woke up with the beginnings of a migraine- which simmered on the surface slightly... but I spoke too soon about the weather not slamming me, and promptly got slammed on my way back from my psychiatrist's office. I pulled off the road and took my frova and waited for things to calm down in Jamie-headland before driving again.

Feeling A-OK now, except for my elbow- which wound up being a soft tissue injury, and boy did I get it good.

Eileen- we've gotta stop with this east coast weather pattern migraine thing. But- Frova Power to you!

Laura- Didn't see you before I started typing to Eileen- Our weather patterns are making us drop like flies. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Hello everyone- So sorry everyone is in so much pain! Frowner Eileen, Laura, Kat, and Jaime I hope you're feeling better soon. Cindy, I am so sorry about Nala. I hope you can re-adjust her meds so she can get out of pain. I know it is so hard to be going through that right now on top of adjusting to your new medications- here's a hug Group Hug
Tonight we are having a trunk show(jewelry) with 300 women for work. I know it sounds like something that would be fun, but believe me it isn't! What it means for me is a lot of extra work, a late night tonight, extra loud noise(migraine trigger) alcohol smells(another migraine trigger)- I'm not looking forward to it!

Anyway, it IS a lovely day here weather-wise- hope every one has a great Thursday.

I swear we're all on the same migraine cycle or something. I'm just getting off a 3 dayer. It's still a dull ache but it's definitely better than the last two days. I've been basically bed-ridden since Tuesday. I'm tired of losing part of my week. This one is mostly hormone and weather related. Ugh!

My husband is back from Korea again and he has the flu. So we've both been in bed off and on for the last two days. I haven't gotten anything done. Oh well.

I don't have anything planned because I've been waiting to see how I feel. I may go to my book club meeting tonight if my head is cooperating.

Gretchen, hope you get your gardening done.

Cindy, take care of Nala and enjoy the time you have with her.

Kat, I'm glad you're taking the rest of the day off. I hope your head cooperates for your test tonight.

Heather, enjoy Houston.

Eileen, Jamie, and Laura, I hope your migraine lets up.

Pam, I'm glad you're having a couple good weeks.

Val, Good luck with the trunk show. I'm sure you'll be glad when it's over.

Tawsha, Hope your flu is better and enjoy the girls' day.

Take care, Hoops

Hey gang -

Really late getting in here - sorry there are so many sickies - me too, I'm afraid. I got this virus/fluey thing Danny's had all week. Around 5 yesterday found myself staring at the computer going "Ummmm..." couldn't remember what I was working on, and feeling HOT! I hardly ever break a fever, once every 5 years maybe, so my temp doesn't say anything but I feel hot all over and achy. Can hardly move.

Rach came home from school yesterday feeling sick but refusing to talk about it. This morning she dragged herself out of bed with 15 minutes to spare for the bus, refused to tell us how she's feeling, rummaged around in my medicine chest (I assume for Advil), was rude, got in a shouting match with her father and stormed out of the house. We think she's sick too, but the play starts tonite and she doesn't want to miss it. had me a major worry fest this morning. What can you do with a stubborn 17 year-old? Determined to be in charge of her own life but with lousy judgment - and nasty with it, and never aware of the impact she's having on everyone else! ARGH! Of course I'm afraid she's going to drive herself into pneumonia or something - Danny says let her face her own consequences and I know he's right but it is HARD!

Woo - sorry for the rant. I'm sick in bed, D barely on his feet, Adam came home sick after 2 hours at school, who knows how Rach is, and life feels very overwhelming right now. No beastie for me so far...

Hoops it sounds like the illness situation in your house is similar - wouldn't it be better if people could just get sick one at a time?

Tawsha I hope your flu is all done - enjoy your girls' trip!

Val I hope you sail through the trunk show - and make some good $$ to make it worthwhile?

Jamie I hope you're on the mend again. We've got a stormy day here too.

Pam I'm glad you've had a couple of decent weeks.

Laura congrats on the confirmation and sorry you got a mig to go with it. I hope you feel better.

Eileen so sorry you're on rescue meds. I think you're very sensible to find out about the IV's just in case. And BTW, want me to come smack perfume girl upside the head? They can't fire Me!

Heather have a lovely trip. I hope you get good weather.

Kat I hope things clear up so you can take your test. Feel better, babe.

Cindy I feel for you with poor Nala. I hope she gets some relief.

Gretchen I bet you have neighbors who envy your garden too! Have fun.

Nice to visit with you all. I'm going to go mope around listlessly.

- Megs

Hi everyone!

Megs, you have more than earned the right to "mope around listlessly." That cracked me up. As far as Rachel goes remember that adolescent brains are not yet formed. They are going through a huge growth spurt mentally and emotionally due to the hormones. It's nature's way of getting them ready for adulthood, but they really can't help it. There's lots of research on this, so you're not alone. I know it doesn't make it much easier, though, so here's a hug for you and for the future Rachel who will be a lovely young woman due to the fantastic way you brought her up. Feel better soon with that fluey thing, hon.

Group Hug

So how am I today? In bed with icepack as usual. Working on the questionnaire for my neuropsych testing Monday after this. Also need to put final touches on mig diary for specialist appt this Monday.

My mood is good, my head isn't too bad, I'm going to call my brother next to see how he's doing. I think I mentioned a while ago that he'd been driving a cab, but decided he needs to get a computer programming job again. He posted his resume online and already has 5 possibilities right there in Jacksonville. His long-time girlfriend is trying to buy them some used furniture for the living room. He needs to buy a car too because when he stops driving cab he won't have one!

What else? MIL called last night to make sure I saw the mention of fibromyalgia in the NYT article on genetics. She finally gets it. The first few years she was all like, just deal with it, everybody gets tired. Or isn't there something they can do for it? Then it moved to here's an article (subtext maybe if you do this you'll be cured) or her friend suggested a supplement said she took it and she's all better now. But now, she really understands. That it's a chronic illness, no cure, some treatments but nothing that will completely control it. Once she bought me a membership at the museum because she thought if I could just get out of myself and focus on something else and get some exercise walking around the museum that I'd be fine. I think I made it to the museum twice that year and was completely exhausted after an hour at most. People are funny. They care, but they also need to fix us, don't they. Having something that can't be fixed is too scary to them. And if it's too scary to them, imagine how scary it is to those of us that have it. Have to keep hope alive but also have to acknowledge the real fears we keep pushing to the back of our minds.

And on that cheerful note, keep the hope alive!!

LauraSue.
(I'm 55, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.)

LauraSue - very well put. We all struggle with this, don't we - I think it's hard for people to know how to be around us.

Well Rachel came home cheerful & chipper - who knows. But I'm done worrying. (ha! for now...) Now I just have to get well so i cna get to one of her performances tomorrow or Saurday.

Okay - gotta go - more moping to do.

Megs, I laughed as I read your rant. My daughter (who is 27 now) was exactly like that in high school. She was big into theatre and show choir and was always in school performances so I can relate to the moodiness of opening night. The things she used to drink to try to keep her voice working was unbelievable. She did all the musicals and usually had a lead which meant lots of singing. They work themselves so hard getting ready that they get run down before the show actually opens. I remember the whole cast being sick most of the time. It's funny now but back then it was miserable. Aren't teens fun? Oh well, some cute guy probably said he was coming to watch the play and that changed everything for her! But YOU'LL never know. It's her world and her business as I'm sure she's always telling you!. The teen years are God's way of helping parents to let them go!
