Morning all Group Hug

Firstly - Dawn sorry to hear about the loss of your freind! You are in my thoughts Group Hug

Yesterday morning I woke up feeling even worse! I had been up all night with a very upset stomache - , so I call the out of hours clinic, and they told us to go down - and that I had all the symptoms of swine flu!

So, we ended up at hte clinic, and the doctor said that here in the UK they are no longer sending away swabs to test for swine flu (I guess they did it so much int he beginning that they have spent a huge amount of the NHS money on it - and by just giving Tamiflu to everyone who may have had swine flu or been in contact with someone with swine flu) But she said the fever, headache, diorreha, sore muscles, sweats and chills, painful joints etc etc were all signs of swine flu - and that doctors have just to treat it symptomatically - so Ive been given the diagnosis of swine flu, and given Tamiflu to take.

She also checked my ears and said the inside of my ear is deformed Confused It is very red and swollen and infected. She is unsure if it is due to the swine flu, or if it something different,. so I got antibiotics to take too,. Barry ahs been diagnosed not with swine flu (doesnt have all the samwe symptoms) but with a lung infection, so he got antibiotics to take too.

I just feel ghastly. I ache all over and my chest is heaving! She said Ill be out of action for at least another week or 2!!! My work wnt be happy! WHY MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE???????????? Crying

Laura - hope u managed to get to the waterfront yesterday!

Alaura - that is just awful about the school. How terrifying! Ims o glad the plan was not carried out! I hope u feel better

CIndy - I hope the med adjustements make a difference! Have fun with your darlings at the Cavalier CLub

Peggyann - I hope your head settles down - 2 weeks of migraines is not fun!

Dutchess - That weather sounds awful! A day of mo TV or radio, and going back to bed sounds likie a good plan!

Meg - Sounds like teh postponing of client appointment may be a blessing in disguise! If it means u got longer in bed! I hope you are doing okay Meg! Hows Danny doing?

May - Im glad the Axert took the pain down a bit!

Well, for the rest of the day, Im going to try my best to put up with my 2 kids (their elevated voices are making me wish I had no ears)

Take care all

GAil x

Oh Gail! I'm so sorry about the flu. For once, I can say I TOTALLY understand what you feel like.

I didn't feel great on Friday, not sick, just not great. I woke up at 2AM Sat. morning with 104 fever and hurting all over. I don't feel bad, but there's not a bone in my body that doesn't hurt-even my fingers hurt! I've been going between freezing and burning up for 3 days now. Had fever at midnight last night and was too cold to get anything-had to call Dh to get my blanket and Advil and turn the fan off. GHASTLY sums it up pretty well.

I'm trying to eat and drink fluids and take Advil ever 4-5 hours to keep the fever down and the pain away. I feel some better today, but at the moment I've got 3 Advil helping that along.

I can't take Tamiflu-allergic to it, so I've just got to get through it. I've stayed away from the boys and DH. It's going to be a long painful week.

I hope you get feeling better soon and Barry too! May we all get better quickly.

I'm off to find something to eat. I'm not hungry, but I know I need to eat.

Everyone have a great weekend
Lynn

Good Morning Everyone,

I'm still in a fog this morning and feeling faint. Don't know what I'm going to do about work Monday. I have no more time off. I guess get a leave of absence. Can't stand all this...feeling not there. Hope to spend some time outside today. The family is talk about grilling some ribs.

It's another sunny day (grip grip fog grip) sorry. Mad

Gail...Hate the flu too, maybe some hot tea will help.

Well got to go to the store, my older daughter is driving me there. I kind of like the idea of her driving me. I feel spoiled. Angel Hope everyone will have a pain-less day. To all those who aren't quite there yet Group Hug Heart to you.

Better days

Dutchess

Hi everyone,

Dawn, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Group Hug You're in my prayers!

Megs, thank you for the stress/trigger info on Friday! Flower You're right--staying in the beach house was certainly full of triggers--noise and a change in sleep patterns may have really contributed to the whole problem...

Gail and Lynn, the flu?!? Oh, yuck!! I'm so sorry you're both sick! Gail, please send my "get better" vibes to Barry, too. I'm really afraid of getting the flu in our house. DS8 is a very bad asthmatic. Stuff like the flu really hits him hard.

Dutchess, please take care of yourself today! Don't spend too much time shopping. Get rest so that faint feeling goes away quickly! Grilled ribs sound terrific!

It's a rainy, yucky day here. Actually, it's rained this entire weekend! My boys have been bickering all day long. They tend to disagree more when they spend too much time together...My head is also unhappy with the rain. My stomach, too. Maybe the sun will come out tomorrow! Fingers Crossed

I'm trying to motivate myself to do some picking up around this house. My head and belly would rather rest on the sofa with the heating pad, though. I really need to clean up some this week. DS8 is turning into DS9 this week, and we've got family coming over this weekend. My house is definitely not prepared for company!

Have a wonderful, pain-free Sunday, everyone!

Hello pals -

My nortriptylene now up to 30 mg (I increase every 4 days) I have slept really well the last 2 nights, but really late both mornings. And woken up so achy all over. I had a long hot soak today which made my achy body feel much better but left me very sleepy. Oh well. I'm really giving myself a day off, re-reading my way through Harry Potter. (Not all today, of course, but I'm making good headway today.) Yesterday I reorganized my closet and bureau and got rid of a bunch of old clothes - that was great to do. I did a bunch of work on my web site too.

Not much else to report - got grumpy Adam to vacuum downstairs today and now he's off with a friend for the afternoon. It's stopped raining so I may stir myself out of my armchair and take a walk.

Jenny good luck with the house. Mine's never company-ready without major effort, either. I'm coming to accept that, little by little. Hope the flu skips your house.

Dutchess I hope your fog lifts!

Lynn hope you take care of yourself. Poor thing!

And Gail, you too - flu is no fun!

See you all later -

Megs

Hi Guys--

I've been lurking all week, mainly because my week was nuts. My visit with Dr. K. was stupendous as always. He's such a source of good vibes I haven't had any kind of headache in 7 days. Of course it could also be the headache-breaking infusions I got at the ER last Sunday, but it's sure been nice!

We had been holding the IV Magnesium to see how much difference it was actually making (didn't seem like it was much), but I had gotten labs Dr. K wanted drawn done and that explained it. Even IV, I haven't been getting enough Mag. My levels are still quite low. So I'm going to call Dr. R tomorrow and ask him to consult with Dr. K about that. Dr. K. wants to double the IV Mag I get every week. Don't know how comfortable Dr. R with be with that. We'll just have to see, but Dr. K thinks it could make all the difference.

I had some bad news though. I'll be losing my job at the hospital sometime before the end of October. It was originally a temporary one until they could hire a full time OR pharmacist which they finally did. So once I get him trained I'll be out of a job there. Luckily I still have my work at CVS and another independent pharmacy to fall back on.

Dawn--I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. You and her family are in my prayers.

Gail and Lynn--Both with the flu--OH NO!!! I hope you are able to stay fairly comfortable and Gail my best wishes to Barry. Since he's already sick I hope he doesn't catch the flu from you too.

Dutchess--I'm glad your daughter was able to take you to the store. I really miss those days when the DS's were home to drive me places. Hope you get to feeling better. Don't overdo.

Jenny--I sometimes think I would rather pick up the house than pick up all the messy things that are laying around it (pick up around the house). Sorry really dumb joke. I really do hate housework though. I like cooking but having to wash dishes afterward ruins it for me. I'd rather clean a dirty stall any day.

Megs--I wish I had your energy. I'm lucky lately if I get out and ride (haven't been doing that much the past two weeks). I don't ever seem to get around to getting anything done but playing around on the computer or reading lately.

Dar--I can really relate to the heat. We had 64 days this summer of over 100 degrees (we usually only have 3 or 4 believe or not and were within a day of breaking the all time record) It's finally cooled off into the low 90s and high 80s thank goodness.

Hope everyone has a good finish of the weekend and start of the week.

Tracie

Crying ugh! I am so not doing well right now. I am in status again, but its only day 5 with this one. I ahve had much much longer. The part I can't stand, I have been having mirgraines darn near daily for weeks now! I have had very very few breaks and I feel like I am wearing very thin. Frowner Honestly, I am ready for the ER just to see if I can't get a little relief. Sadly its not an option for me. Even if it was, I wouldn't have transportation. My car is stuck in the drive way..... But oh, how I wish for some relief!

Sorry for the bad mood. I really hope that you all are having a better weekend! I need to get back to bed before I get sick. But I will try to stop back in when I can. Group Hug to you all
