Did I just type October? My gosh, this year has just flown by so quickly!

I had a terrible Migraine yesterday but I'm on the mend today. Not to much planned, I have to run some errands and I may save my bike ride for later on today since my head still hurts a bit. I don't want to trigger it again.

I think I've come to the conclusion that I just can't clean at all without triggering a Migraine. All I did was clean the bathroom with Windex, Comet and Lysol wipes and my room with Pledge wipes and three hours later my Migraine started. I joked with DH that I'm going to buy a painter's mask to clean with but the more I think about it, it actually sounds like a good idea, so I'll pick one up this weekend.

I have to follow up with the temp agency DRS referred me to. Hopefully, my resume was forwarded and I can make an appointment to come and get their initial interview taken care of.

I hope everyone is doing well...it's awfully quiet in here!

Since yesterday was the end of a month I counted up the days I -didn't- have a migraine. The total was 13. That sounds sad doesn't it. But it's an improvement.Since swapping to my latest neuro guy I've seen tiny but steady improvement. 9 days in July, 12 in August and 13 in Sept. Obviously I'm still having them more than 50% of every month. Frowner I also made it all the way thru Sept without an ER visit. WooHoo! Thumbs Up

On the other hand, I'm still fighting the insomnia garbage this week and the latest migraine arrived at 3 am this morning. Argh. I took Fioricet w/cod and phenergan and I swear it made me feel weirder than usual. Maybe it's just all the exhaustion. It's not gone, but I'm out of bed, and getting the kids in gear. I have this suspicion it's going to slam me hard this afternoon.

Hi guys -

I'm kind of feeling like kicking myself this morning. Started getting a Migraine around 5 yesterday, the second day in a row. I didn't take a triptan right away because I was thinking that I might want to save one in case I needed a triptan day later in the week - but I didn't look at my calendar and really think it through, I just kind of forged ahead. Then around ten I suddenly noticed the Migraine was really bad, pounding, high pain, sickening. So I took the triptan then. Needless to say it didn't help much. Took Reglan and another triptan a few hours later, but I was in pain all night and slept really badly. Pain didn't start to lift until about 5 am.

I had to cancel a day of in-court mediations I was called to do today - I couldn't drive there and even if I got a ride I couldn't sit up and mediate 5 cases today. Pain is better but not gone, and chances are very high that if I pushed through I would trigger the Migraine all over again. Where the kicking myself comes in is if I had taken the triptan at 5... I might have been able to go to court today. This is something I'm on a list for and I get called maybe once every 4 months - so it's not like I'm likely to get another chance right away.

Oh well. I'm taking care of myself the best I know how. Have to give it up and get on with life! I got some extra sleep to make up for my bad night and now I'm trying to get some writing done anyway. While resting my head.

Amy glad to hear you're making progress - I know you'd like lots more, but it's definitely progress!

Laura take it easy - don't provoke that head! (I guess you could say that to me, too...) It will be interesting to see what the agency comes up with for you.

It's cold here - went down to the low 40s over night and today's high is 64 - I know that's not that cold but it's cloudy and feels cold! I think a hot shower & some warm clothes are in order.

See y'all!

- Megan

Good Morning Everybody--

I'm really excited. Dr. R. plans to follow Dr. K's recommendations for the IV Magnesium. We're going to try the 4 gram/week dose for a few weeks and see if it raises my levels up to normal and makes things significantly better. I swear I am so lucky because I have it so good. I have Dr. K and a local migraine specialist who works with Dr. K and is willing and able to put most of his suggestions into practice. (And that's always covered by my insurance). My PCP is even a super member of my team, communicating with Dr. R (the local migraine specialist) by E-mail and staying informed about what we're doing. Sorry about the brag fest. But I sure went through a lot of clowns before I got my dream team assembled.

Laura--I get triggered by the smell from cleaning supplies too. I try to use just one main product for everything. That seems to help me.

Amy--Glad to see you're seeing improvement even if it is small baby steps. We migraineurs usually have to measure our improvements this way. Seems we never have any miracle cures.

Here's hoping everybody is feeling better today. We're expecting rain and my head is bothering me. Think I'm going to go treat it and go on and llay down for a while.

Good afternoon!

Man, it is FREEZING in NJ today! Not to mention, my office which they working on getting the heat working. The plus side: shivering burns calories. Razzer

Laura - I noticed with the Clorox wipes, although there is no bleach, which is a trigger of mine, the scent is very strong and I can see how it may trigger a Migraine. Hope you are feeling better!

Amy - 13 days is great! Was this Migraine free or all head pain? I would love 13 days of no head pain at all! That would be wonderful!

Megs - I'm on a hunt for sweaters and new warm clothes today! I can't believe it got so cold - wait, yes I can! We had no summer! Roll Eyes

My fingers are starting to freeze up and not type as fast due to the cold. I think it's colder in my office than outside!

Stay warm all!

Good morning.

Wow, was it good sleeping in weather - cool, cloudy, thunder in the distance. Will it do this Saturday? No.

This is supposed to be a strong cold front, deep low pressure; no wonder at all at my head, my eye is even tearing up on that side. I haven't had that in a long time.

Kath is supposed to have a poweder puff game today, but I don't think so with this rain.

I have my favorite pot roast in the crock pot - good for a day like this and easy, too.

Yes, Laura, it's October. I don't even want to know how many shopping days till Christmas.

Yeah, Amy! That's progress.

Megs, so sorry you lost a chance at mediation.

Tracie, it's so good all your doctors will work together.

Eileen, any way to burn calories is good by me. Wink

Laura - Have you tried the more "natural" cleaning products? The smell doesn't bother me as much, maybe it would work for you....Hope the temp agency works out....

Amy - Sorry you are getting so many, but glad it's improving!

Megan - Ouch! Sorry about that roller coaster of a day/night. I'm glad you are taking care of yourself.

Tracie - I'm glad you are trying the magnesium and I hope it works!

Eileen - Come visit us out here - we're having beautiful weather - cooler but still sunny. I hope you warm up!

Deb - Sounds like you are having a good day.... I hope your head behaves though.

I'm on day 6 of migraine hell. The morphine just kept me awake until 2am yesterday. I feel half awake and half asleep now.

Hope everyone gets better who is feeling bad!

SARA

There are good days and bad days - here's hoping for lots of good days!

Hey guys,

I need to make this quick, but I wanted to pop in before bed. I hope you have had a good couple of days. The weekend is so close!

I had my follow up yesterday at DHC. I finally got some results. Doc increased my preventative since he is confident it is one that will help me. He also gave me a dolophine shot before I left. It was day seven with that migraine, and it broke! I feel really well comparitively. Head pain is only at a 4. Its not even a migraine just my daily headache. I am so happy to have this relief and am trying to enjoy it as long as I have it! I also have lorcet now, as a rescue med. He did that since I can go through all 5 abortives and not respond. This visit left me a little more hopeful of feeling better. Thumbs Up

I will try to get caught up with everyone tomorrow. I hope you have a good friday, and hopefully some good weekend plans! I will send hugs Group Hug to anyone who would like. I am now headed to bed.....
