Good morning and Happy Friday!

Wow, I haven't been in the Tea Room let alone started it, in a looong time!

Today is going to be beautiful outside - almost beach weather! I love it. I better enjoy it today because rain is moving in just in time for the weekend. A good time to clean the house I suppose.

I am happy to say all the children are doing great. No recent trips to the ER, only the dentist. I can handle that much easier LOL. My oldest, Raymond, finally found a reliable car he could afford to buy and insure. He ended up with a Jeep and he is beside himself with glee. I'm happy for him but a bit nervous, my baby boy is growing up! Hair Raising

I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday! Wishing everyone a pain free day!

It's been a long time but you all have been in my thoughts.

The kids are off from school and I have another Doctor appointment to get ready for but I wanted to wish everyone an early start to a great weekend.

Enjoy the beautiful weather out there and stay as painfree as possible.

Morning all!

I'm doing quite alright this morning. Yesterday was migraine free! WOO HOO!!! Big Grin I skipped my night class and got a pedicure. It was the most relaxed I have felt in weeks! I should have gone to school, but I just wanted to do something nice for myself after a rough couple of days.

Everyone have a great and pain free weekend!!!

Well, Thursday was a gorgeous day. I got off of work, rushed home and worked in the garden until it was too dark to see. It felt great to get so much accomplished!

However, today.... I got hit with a major aura on the drive to work. I had a lot of trouble getting here with everything so shimmery, moving and blurred. My left side is getting tingly and numb, but I know the aura part just has to run its course. I did take some meds to try to help the pain and nausea and keep it so that I can function. There's a HUGE front that's going to be moving through the area (lots of storms and rain), so I'm not at all surprised. It's actually right on cue.

Right now, I'm worried about my mother. I was trying to convince her last night to go to the ER and I offered to take her. She's on day 6 of a horrible migraine. She can't really sleep, or eat, and now the anti-nausea meds aren't working and she's not keeping anything down. She was in tears on the phone, and that's not like her at all. She refused to go because they usually treat her so poorly and send her home feeling just as bad. (and she rarely goes-- she'll just suffer and suffer, so she goes maybe only once a year or so, she's not a "frequent flier" at all!) My father came home from work early to try to convince her to go. I really hope he took her (even kicking and screaming)-- this migraine has GOT to be stopped. I'll give her a call as soon as I can--though I don't want to call too early, hopefully she got some care and is asleep.

Hi all.

Yep, I was good yesterday until about 9 - then I thought I felt something starting to happen in the cranial region.

Woke up today, mild migraine a brewing. I already took a Frova to hopefully kick it's butt before it becomes full blown.

I can't believe this. Third one this week. And I was doing so well. UGH! I fell like I'm going backwards now. Everything was starting to work and now it's not. I wonder if it has to do with everything blooming, although I have no allergy symptoms at all.

I hope everyone is having a good day!!!!! Flower

Good Morning Everyone,
Well we are to have beautiful weather here, but I have to work today, Crying, but it is Friday!! I have a 7:30 meeting to be in the office for and I will not be there late tonight. So I should get to putter around outside for a bit. DBF will be here when I get home and we can start the weekend early.

Lothianjavert I hope your mother is doing better today. I one time I should have headed to the ER I called my doctor, they had me come in there. I felt so awful I didn't even ask what they gave me a shot of. I asked many months later, it was valium and compazine!! Was enough of both to make me sleep and break the migraine. This was before even Imitrex. My current PCP doesn't even keep that kind of stuff in the office any more. Too many people try to break in for drugs.

Kat, sometimes a girl has to do what a girl has to do, hence you got a pedicure. Yes, it's been a rough few days and relaxation is necessary. You'll study better for it. Just dont' show your toes to your instructor. Somehow I doubt he/she will see the justification in it. No humor I'm sure.

Yes Laura, I still am amazed either of my children are old enough to drive. The kids did not have to buy their cars, but to watch them get in and go off amazes me. My "baby" is graduating from hi school this year and is going off to college. How dare she get that old!!!

Riley it's good to see you here. Hope all is well.

I need to get a note written to my sisters. I'm trying to be a good girl. It's difficult sometimes. I'm the youngest and rarely am good. Why is it whatever I do is wrong? Guess I'll talk to my therapist about that one.

Have a wonderful day ladies.

Cindy

Hi guys -

The computer repair guy is here, yay! Yes So I'm typing on Danny's computer. I hope to have my own functional before too long. It's been a rough week, haven't gotten much done work-wise. This weekend is the last 2 days of my mediation course which means I really need to take it easy today, considering that I won't have a break all weekend. But of course all that work I didn't get done beckons... I promise I will take it easy. Two work tasks I have to catch up with and then I'm shutting the office door behind me. I'm going to garden.

Last night I got a migraine - a whole week since the last. Not bad. It was really interesting to see the stackable nature of triggers - a little added stress and smoke on top of my stack and I toppled right over. I'm going to post about it in triggers. I took the Imitrex early and seem to have knocked it out - still very minor head pain this morning so we'll see.

Laura nice to see you in the tearoom! I'd be nervous too if Rach got a car - she says she's saving for one but keeps spending her money on clothes & such.

Lori hope you're doing well!

Kat enjoy your happy feet!

Hey Rachael nice to see you, it's been a while! I do hope your Mom gets some help to break that migraine!

Eileen don't lose heart, sweetheart! It's hard when progress seems to go backwards, but it may just as well be temporary. Maybe the pollen is affecting you without being aware of it. I know I go out right now and my car is completely coated in pollen. Ick! Imagine- that's all in our lungs and sinuses, too!

Cindy I thought the youngest didn't have to be a good girl - perk of being the baby! (Says a middle child) Big Wink Anyway, you can't possibly be always wrong - I see you being right so much!

Welcome to another beautiful day in paradise!

- Megs

Good morning everyone. You all seem to be feeling a bit better today. That seems to be the general "karma" of the day. Wink

I went to my book club meeting last night. Met two new people and we had a wonderful conversation. It was really enjoyable. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to go because I had a migraine (about a 6) yesterday but at about 3:30 PM it went away. I was thrilled.

Today I have a massage and a chiropractor appointment. I would like to run out to the mall for a couple of things but we will see how I feel.

I was so thrilled. Bob (my cat) came home again at about 5:00 this morning. He came in and announced quite loudly that he was hungry. He hasn't done that since we got the new puppy two weeks ago. He laid on me and let me pet him (one of our normal routines) for a while and then I got up and gave him "special" soft food which he loves. He was gone for several days this week and I thought he was a goner so I am so happy if he even checks in to let me know he's okay. It messed up my sleep schedule but I don't care. I get so emotional over my cats. (I love my dogs too but not as much as my cats).

Megs, your fire thing was enough excitement for a while. I melt cheese whiz in the microwave and pour it on my nacho chips. It's less dangerous! Smiler

Laura, I know it's scary when the babies start to venture out on their own but it is just another milestone.

Lothian, if your mom hasn't gotten any medical help, become her #1 nag. She has to do something to break this cycle. I worry about what it's doing to the rest of her body at this point.

Eileen, I think spring is hard on everyone. The weather is always changing, things are growing and schedules are changing. All are hard on us migraineurs.

Kat, skipping classes is okay once in a while if it's for a really good reason. You needed a mental health day!

Riley, glad to see you around here. Good luck at the doctor's appointment.

Cindy, write your sisters (so you'll feel better) and then enjoy your weekend. You earned it.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Morning, ladies!

It looks like everybody is having great weather today! I hope you're able to enjoy it. We've got a big chance of rain tomorrow, but maybe they're wrong, and I'll get to plant tomatoes and arrange my potted hostas.

Lothian -- Parents can be the most stubborn!!! I hope your mom finally behaved and went to the ER. I hope your dad can protect her from villains in the ER.

Eileen -- don't lose heart about 3 in one week. It's probably not a trend, just an aberration. My fingers are crossed!

Cindy -- I agree, the youngest get away with murder. There were 6 of us. I'm the oldest, and I got the most strictness. Didn't get a bike until I was seven, and wasn't allowed to go off our street until I was nine. My brother (#3), got to ride around the block the first day.

And the two youngest really did get away with murder. We told my mom that she was letting them. She said it was fine, because there were no younger kids that they had to be good examples to, and besides, she was tired.

I made it through the colonoscopy prep OK. I won't have to do that again for 5 years. They found a polyp, which they removed. I'll find out if it was pre-cancerous in a week or so. The upper endoscopy looked fine, and I was completely out of it. I sort of woke up during the colonoscopy, but it wasn't painful, just weird feeling. And I didn't really care. They used Versed and Fentanyl (sp?) to put me to sleep. It wasn't quite as nice a sleep as the Demerol was 9 years ago. I made it through without a migraine. But I can't take my Anaprox for 10 days, just acetaminophen. And avoid spicy food. Rats.

Not medical advice, but my GI doc said that Miralax was great for constipation. Can't wait to try it.

I'm waiting for my mom to pick me up to go to judge the quilt show in Kosciusko. I had something starting at the back of my neck, so I took an Imitrex, just in case. That maxes me out for the week, so if I get a monster tomorrow, it'll just be ice and rest.

MUCH more than you wanted to know. Thanks for listening.

Hi All-

I just got back from my psychiatrist appt. so thought I'd check in before I have to go to work at 2. Sounds like most are doing better today. I'm doing well so far today, although there's a darkness on the horizon I don't like the looks of. Oh well, will just keep Zomig in my smock pocket.

Gretchen--Glad your test went well. I love the every 5 years part!

Eileen--Don't sweat the 3/week yet. I have been known to have 3/week, especially during spring with the unsettled weather + Pollen. Hopefully, yours was an oddball too.

Lothian--I can well understand your frustration with your mother. Parents never believe their kids actually know best. My mom is 79 and lives right next door, and both her doctor and I have to flat team-tag her to get her to do what she needs to be doing.

Hoopsky--I'm so glad your cat came back. Out here we usually lose any outdoor cats we have (with our current outside cat being the exception because he's too lazy to wander around at night) to Great Horned Owls and sometimes Coyotes. So our inside/outside cat, should he decide he needs a night on the town, worries Tom and I both so bad we can't sleep. Luckily, the promise of some special food will almost always lure him in.

Laura--I know how it feels as the chicks start to fly out of the nest. But I have to say, the worst part for me was teaching them to fly--as in drive. The youngest especially gave me very gray hair and a few almost coronaries.

Well, I've already had my first nap of the day! How's that for efficiency and productivity!!!! Big Grin

The dermatologist says the rash on my face is perioral dermatitis. I say it's ICK! It's something like rosacea. Didn't say what caused it. But I have to take tetracycline for at least three weeks, maybe longer. I hope it doesn't upset my poor little IBS tummy too bad. And I have to wash my face with a hypoallergenic soap three times a day, use a sulfur cream twice a day and an astringent at bedtime. Pain in the neck. I go back in three weeks to see if it has cleared up. But this apparently can be chronic. Great, just what I need, another chronic medical problem.

The dermatologist I go to is really nice. Turns out she and my psychiatrist are friends from medical school. Funny coincidence!

Another gorgeous sunny day here, might hit 80. It was great being out the last two days and seeing all the spring blooms all over. The tulips are at their peak right now. My mother and grandmother always planted tulips when I was growing up. I think they are my favorite flower.

Have a great day, everyone!

Just poking in for a quick hello. I have an appointment with my eye doc today at lunch, which means another pair of trial lenses to deal with the ongoing fluorescent problem at work. I'll post an update later today.

We're changing insurance programs here at work, but the partners here are wonderful and for the fifth year in a row our rates are staying the same. All of my docs are still in-network (I checked), so hopefully prescription coverage is still good. Fingers Crossed

That's all for now - it's actually sunny today so I'll enjoy the trip over to my doc's office. Thinking of all of you. Heart

Good Afternoon, everyone.

I'm getting in here late today. I guess it's better late than never, huh?

This morning was busy for me at work. Trying to get stuff ready for my boss before he had to leave. Plus, we had a 3 hour conference call. I ended up missing my chiropractic appointment because I forgot about it. I was on the conference call anyways. They called me so I rescheduled. Oh well.

I woke up with a headache this morning. It's just a dull, achy one. I haven't slept well all week. I really need to do something about that.

I have my appointment with my neurologist on Monday. I'm going to talk to him about changing my abortive medication since the Zomig doesn't seem to be working for my migraines.

I hope everyone has a good day and a good weekend.
