I'll start it off today.
Went out for Sushi last night with DH and a friend. It was great! Then we went to Marshalls and to the game store for DH to get the new Grand Theft Auto....not really my thing I don't think. That was about it. So far today is going well. It is supposed to be almost 80 today! Yippee!!! I hope everyone is having a great day!!! Happy Wednesday!
Well, we have more storms brewing here in Texas. There suppose to be severe with hail and possible tornados. My meetings are over for the week. Now, I have work to do from the meetings. Nothing too bad. I actually look forward to having the work. Two more days to go until our trip. I'm ready for some rest and relaxation. So far so good on the migraine front. I'm hoping that it will stay that way during the trip. I have my dr. appointment with my ENT doctor to discuss my sleep issues on Monday. I'm hoping we'll be able to find a good solution. Hope everyone has a good day. |

Good morning, ladies! Thought I'd stop by before I got the day started. I got dressed before 8am this morning! I usually wait until DH has gone to work, but he went early. He usually goes in about 9, because he stays until 7. The phone stops ringing around 5, and he gets his "real" work done after everyone else leaves and stops popping their head in his door He's got a great big meeting in Atlanta next week, and it's wearing on him. Maybe he'll get a break after that.
Woke up with a #3 headache this morning. It's been 2 or 3 weeks since I've done that, and it ticked me off. It's better now, after my coffee. Probably because I let Sparky out about 3am. He was barking at some critter in the backyard, probably a possum. He rarely barks these days, so I thought he needed the reward of going out. Dental appt went fine, except I had to wait about half an hour. They did apologize for the wait. I go to the office in the suburbs because the parking is easier. He's also got an office downtown, and that one runs on time to the minute. It was great when I was working downtown. I hope everyone else's appts went well. I've got a Migra-Cap. I seem to remember it ended up costing about $70.00. But it's nice. A nice change from my ice wraps. It gives you ice all over the head. There's a hole for your ponytail, if you have one. I don't. If the ice wraps are enough for you, I'd consider the price before I bought one. I got mine when I was so miserable that I was getting anything that I thought would help. Heather -- I hope your sleep doctor appt went well. DH has a CPAP, and it has changed his life. He was having 70 interruptions an hour and was getting NO REM sleep. He takes it everywhere, even on fishing trips. I had a funny-looking node on my mammogram 2 years ago, and I had to go back for a "spot compression." That was as uncomfortable as it sounds. Everything was OK, and they didn't repeat it last year. My grandmother died of breast cancer in her late 40s, so I'm faithful about my mammo's. And BCBS pays for everything, with no co-pay. I hope everyone's day goes well. I'm off to the garden and yard work. Gretchen in Mississippi |

Good Morning--
Just a quick check in before I head off for my fasting bloodwork. Yuck. DH's Clusters are back with a vengeance. He's been having 2/day almost every day. Just keeps treating them with Imitrex injectable and won't get serious about getting in contact with his doctor. Last night, Imitrex #2 didn't work and I wouldn't let him take any more. He's very verbal and Loud during his misery and was so mad at me for not being understanding enough. If I tried to talk to him rationally, in a normal tone of voice, he didn't hear a single word I said. So I ended up raising my voice from the hall, getting him to listen but trying to hurt him as little as possible. I pointed out that we could go to the ER but that his clusters lasted a normal 90 minutes and the ER wouldn't help him much. Urgent Care was closed. I finally convinced him to accept an icepak for his forehead and gave him 2 Norco, which helped and got him to sleep. Finally, this morning, he's going to call his neurologist (I fired the same guy after finding him to be less than responsive to emergency needs), but DH, who had seen him first, was convinced that the Doc was helping him. At this point, DH is thinking about jumping ship and changing doctors. I'm researching for who might be the best to try to get in with ASAP. Heather--Our part of Texas appears to just be going to be wet. I'll take that over severe weather anyday. After DH's set-to last night, I had a 4 headache which I had to treat to get to sleep. Don't want that thing back! Gretchen--I so envy you your gardening energy. I asked DH for a landscaping company to come in and refix my flowerbeds and add self irrigation to them for my birthday in May. Hope everything goes well with everybody else today. Monsters stay away!!!! Tracie |

Good Morning,
Heather let us know what the ENT says. I'm always interested in sleep issues. Sleep is not always my friend!! Ah vacation, they are always so nice. Are you packed yet!!! Gretchen you and DH sound so cute together. Getting up and sharing coffee in the morning even though you don't work in town anymore. You two really stay connected. I am determined to get through a couple a nasty things today at work. There is one project I'm working on that the Project Manager just always seems at odds with me. My product is always "wrong" so to speak. I'm not one to like to put blame, but to work out where things should be done most logically. He's not like that. He just wants it done where he doesn't have to do the work, my product not his!! He makes me crazy. I had a vision of leaving him in Orlando in "It's a Small Small World" singing with dolls for the rest of his natural life on a recent business trip. Helped me get through the day. I started Lexapro this morning. So far at least no allergic reaction Tonight DBF is stopping at Costco on his way home from work for me and I get to do more local errands. And than a relaxing evening doing my daughter's graduation announcement!! Take care everyone, Cindy |

Cindy - ROFLOL!
Important to think of creative punishments for the evil-doers. Danny and I have a special torment for rude, dangerous drivers who cut us off on the highway. We invented a special invisible ray gun that instantly afflicts them with boils on their bottoms. Very satisfying. And on that note... Good morning! I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed. A nice change from the last few mornings. Danny's doing better and managed to communicate through his fog yesterday that he had an encouraging interview on Monday - nothing set yet, but a good possibility. Nothing too exciting today. Lots of writing work to do - my favorite. Feeling focused and productive for once. Cindy good luck with the Lexapro - hope that helps. Tracie so sorry to hear about DH's clusters. Thank goodness he's listening about finding a better doctor! Gretchen I hope your head cools down. Thanks for the Migra-cap info. Heather hooray about your trip. Where are you off to - Gulf Coast? Eileen my 13 y/o loves Grand Theft Auto - I can't quite decide if this is a good influence - but he plays it at friends' houses. He's super conscientious about right & wrong, so I don't worry too much. I guess I should hardly talk with my boil-inducing ray gun! Had a really sleepless night last night(as usual), but worst than most. Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday! |

Megs I'm with ya on the video game thing.
Are there some that are too violent for young kids? Of course! But are the video games to blame if a child goes and does something they saw in the game? I don't think so - the parents should be aware of what the child is doing and talk to their kids about right and wrong. You got it megs! At 13 I'm sure he knows that Grand Theft Auto is not real life - and that stealing cars and things is not a good idea at all!! Good morning. No drink at all today.
We had one round of bad storms this morning - right about the time Kath left for the bus. I could strangle her. I've told her to get me up earlier if it's storming and I'll take her to school. Call me wierd, but lightening strikes worry me. I guess she's ok - no call from the school about her missing. We're supposed to get more, worse storms tonight. So I don't know if that's trying to set my head off or if I'm steaming mad about a new trash hauling system our county is trying to put into place. Bascially, instead of contracting with the hauler of our choice, the county is going to take bids and you will have to use the hauler they choose, even if it's a hauler you've had trouble with in the past and fired them (for example, one hauler repeatedly missed our house on trash day). Additionally, the county has added a requirement that all householders have to recycle. We got a free bin for it. You can opt out of the recycling, but you'll pay the higher fee your hauler sets even if you don't recycle. The reason the county is doing this is to cut down on trash truck traffic. Well, if my hauler has to make two trips a week to my house instead of one, how does that cut down on traffic? County government at it's finest! Rant over. Cindy, our adoption agency we used to adopt Nikoli is called "Small World Adoption Foundation" - they even had a toilet paper holder in their bathroom that played that song every time you pulled out some toilet paper. Your vision is too funny. I hope your Lexapro works. Megs, we have a torpedo launcher on our car for drivers that annoy us. I hope everyone has a great day. Remember Droolie's mom in your thoughts and prayers. Her surgery is today. Deb [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] |

Good Afternoon...
Late in the tea room b/c I'm working hard... too hard... Not having much luck dodging the beasite I made it through all day of work yesterday, and tried to take a quick nap after work and before class... My body had other ideas. I set my alarm for 4:15... Yeah, I woke up around 6! oops. Alas, I don't really have the energy to respond to everyone's posts today.... I hope everyone who started off good stays good, and those who started off rough that things get better... |

got my labs drawn and have 2 cinnamon twists and a cherry coke zero in my tummy. Felt I deserved a real treat after going without for a few hours.
Megs--We have a little device that shoots, missles, a machine gun, photon torpedoes, and a ray gun. You pick what sound you want it to make. DH, the former fighter pilot, really likes it. Don't know what is wrong--postdrome, another predrome, or maybe just a weird reaction to the muscle relaxer I took this morning after I slept wrong. Better go lie down for a while. Tracie |

Morning all. Popping in for a quick hello from work. I just finished some cranberry juice that had my GlycoLax (generic Miralax) mixed in. Blech. I hate the chemically taste but if it does the trick I won't complain too much!
I got finished writing a post to my blog last night about how I had been feeling better over the past few days, and shortly thereafter I started feeling pretty cruddy. I think I'm going to be taking it easy today. My head feels really iffy. I've got a lot of work I need to finish up this week before I fly to Boston for a conference next week. I need to make sure all my projects are at least at a stage that someone else can cover them for me while I'm out. That's all for now - I'll check back in with you ladies later. Hope you're enjoying your Wednesday. -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ “HOPE CAN GROW FROM THE SOIL OF ILLNESS!” This is the theme of 2008’s National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week in September. I'm back again.
I love all the weapons for what I call an ugly name drivers. I think the bottom boils is my favorite! And Cindy: I haven't been to Disneyworld, but the TV exposure has driven me crazy. I love the image of leaving your manager there! MJ -- where do you get GlycoLax? I haven't checked out Walmart to see if they have an Equate equivalent. Miralax is doing a good job for me, but the brand name is expensive. Sparky actually came out with me while I watered my pots on the deck and wandered around and sat in the sun for awhile. Off to order some clothes from Coldwater Creek (love it!), then to planting. Gretchen in Mississippi |

Gretchen, I got the GlycoLax at Walgreens. The RN at my PCP wrote me a script for Miralax or its generic equivalent and that's what they gave me. It should be available OTC as well. It was $6.97 for 14 packets, which is less than my RX copay (even for generics). Like Miralax it is also available as a pill.
