Well, I'm spending another day in bed with the sniffly ick.

My cats aren't sure of what to make of me being in bed- or being home all day. THey keep coming over to poke at me with their paws and then walk away. Luckily I go right back to sleep.

Hope everyone is having a great thursday! Group Hug

Well, dh got the mental pillow in his face last night.

We discovered his snoring got so bad Tuesday and Wednesday night because he was catching a cold. He sounds awful today.

I tried sleeping on the couch - cat wanted up there, too. That darn thing is like a little furance and I had to have a fan on.

Went back to bed about 4 a.m., just in time to have dad call and say he had mom at the ER. Bowel obstruction, they are admitting her and having a surgeon see her.

So, no sleep, mom's in the hospital and I won't get up to see her today because no one wants me driving on the highway this loopy.

Oh, and since dh is having all this trouble with snoring, my new sleep regimen has been delayed until after his appointment on the 23rd.

Things really <vaccuum> today.

Nice use of the word vaccuum! LOL

Yeah, I'm not feeling to spiffy myself. I had a beast hit me this morning. I can never tell though when I'm first waking up if it's just because I don't want to wake up, or if I'm really in pain! Roll Eyes It was worse when I was still laying down, but then once I was actually out of the bed, it was only like a 1.

Took skelaxin - I've been having some shoulder issues - I think because of the lovely weather changes that have been occuring. And not only on the "bad" shoulder from the summer - but on the other "bad" shoulder from a car accident YEARS ago - NICE! So both of them are just flaring today.

Ended up taking Frova - just to be on the safe side. I felt it coming and didn't want it to become a beast, so I sleighed it early.

I'm tired, I want a new job, or more money....

It's pretty <lollypoppy> today! Big Grin

Looks like it's not a great day for any of us. Thumbs Down

I woke up with slightly worse migraine pain than usual (4), but it seems to have calmed down a bit. I have acupuncture again tonight, which will be good. I'm starting to lose a little bit of hope about it, though, since I seem to be getting worse again. *sigh*

Today is going to be fairly busy at work, so I should get back to that. Just wanted to pop in here and say hi.

Hope everyone starts feeling better, and soon! Group Hug Heart Group Hug

Woke up with a touch of the GI bug that's been going around. So I'm home from work with a slightly queasy stomach and very tired feeling. I have a strong resistance to GI bugs, and if I ever do get one, I'm really sick. So I'm trying to nip it in the bud.

I noticed a few minutes ago that it's raining again, but again without triggering my head. Hurray!

I need to think about some lunch, even though I'm not really hungry. I hope everyone's day starts to go better.

OH MY I have info to report.. We just had a tornado! YES a tornado here in Vancouver Washington! Eeker

My house wasnt hit directly, but I was close enough to hear it, and watch our tree go crazy with wind. It is moving on now, all I saw was very dark clouds and high wind, then bit later saw a small funnel cloud but it wasnt touched down. It is just a little one, but we are still in Tornado Warning stage, as we may get more. Hair Raising

Here I am again, late as usual. I guess I'm late because I do the dog walking and the self walking and sometime shower and errands before I sit down at the computer.

What am I going to do with all of you? No fair for EVERYBODY to be sick. What's your favorite comfort for the GI stuff? Mine is REAL Coke in a bottle, and crackers. I used to like hot tea, but I can't taste it since I lost my sense of smell. And I dropped my little tea pot and haven't seen a replacement I like. I used the one from my grandmother's wedding china for awhile, but it drips.

We had nasty weather for about 3 hours. Tornado warnings, heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail, the works. My head is trying to crank up.

My latest irritation? POSSUMS! We've got two who have decided they like our yard, especially under our deck. Drives my part-terrier mutt nuts. You can tell that his ancestors were bred to catch varmints.

I talked to the animal experts on the new public radio call-in show this morning. They said the possums are probably attracted by the neighbor's cat food. They leave their outside cat's food outside all the time. So now I get to talk to the neighbors. Nice people, but I'd be ticked if someone told me how to feed my cat.

They actually recommended menacing them with a shovel or broom to make the place hostile enough for them to go elsewhere. Said I might even get one of them to play possum. They also recommended a Hav-A-Heart trap and taking them out into the country and letting them go. We'll probably do that. Joe's college roommate's family does that with armadillos.

Possums in the middle of town. And they're not at all attractive. Two springs ago, one of them had babies under our deck. Sparky did away with two of the babies.

I hope tomorrow's better for everyone.

OH -- BIG thing! I'm continuing to lose weight, and all my clothes are big. Finally found some new bras that fit yesterday. Then I wandered through the nightgowns department and found a pair of pajamas and two nightgowns on half-price. The great thing is, they're regular XLs, from the Misses Department, not a 1X or 2X from the Plus Size department. And they fit beautifully! I've got enough smaller clothes to get me through the winter, but I'm really going to enjoy shopping in the Ladies department for spring clothes!

Poor Deb. Frowner No sleep. What's funny about your post is that you said "vacuum", and your name is Deb. My English teacher in high school used to tell us never to say the "s" word and to use "vacuum" instead, and her name was Debra.

Apparently I cannot ingest milk-related items anymore, especially in ice cream. We ate out last night at a joint that also has custard, and my stomach turned on me not 5 minutes afterwards. So I spent the night in the bathroom again, eating Pepto. This happens at the old DQ too now. I guess it's time to throw in the towel and just give up ice cream. Sometimes plain old milk makes me bloated too, but not badly enough to make me stop drinking it yet.

What's nice is that I finished reading "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" so now I can start on another book right away.

I slept all day and my stomach is still in fits. I should go get in the shower but I'm not forcing it.

Gretchen, there's no way I'd be brave enough to haggle with a opossum, but if it works...Still, I don't think I could do it, lol. Might be worth watching them play dead, though, to take some pictures...

Leeloo, if you think you're lactose intolerant, you can buy tablets that provide the enzyme missing that you need to digest dairy. You can also find milk that is fortified with the enzyme.

Be careful, animals have been known to get out of hav-a-heart traps, it happened to dh's boss.

Hi all -

So sorry so many are sick today - all kinds of yuck! Sending you all flowers. Flower

I am feeling better Big Grin . Got out of bed, put on business clothes and make-up and saw two clients today!

I did have to take a short nap just to function - last night I just couldn't get to sleep - jumpy and antsy and hungry and I don't know what all. And of course I get out of bed and I want to catch up on all the work I missed, clean up the Meg's-been-sick-4-days mess in the kitchen (pretty bad), and on and on... My automatic default setting is - overdue it! And the migraine comes after that. So, 5 now, I'm about to leave my desk - do you know you are all grabbing me and dragging me lovingly from my desk?

Tonight I'm planning to catch some major zzz's. Zzzz'z

Feel better, all!
- Megs
