Looks like I'm first on the board this AM....
I sure hope we all have a better day than yesterday... The migraine yesterday was another one of those that wouldn't die no matter what I took. The beastie would poke its head every time my pain meds wore off.... I finally beat it with a Fiorocet around 8 last nite... I feel fine this morning, and I am hoping it lasts. So, I'm looking forward to this weekend. It is the first weekend I haven't traveled in a month! (nothing big, just NY and PA but still). Mostly I am going to sit around in my PJs and watch TV. How is everyone else doing? I hope well! |

Good morning, Kat!
I'm here, waiting for DH to get ready to take me for my colonoscopy. [I'm ready, he's drinking his coffee] My head is talking to me about being on a clear liquid diet for 36 hours, plus the lovely purge. I didn't get to bed until 3, and up at 6:45. But they'll give me Demerol and Versed. At least, that's what they did several years ago, when I had an EGD (upper scope) for my GERD. NICE drugs. And a nice nap afterwards. I stopped by GardenWorks yesterday and got two gorgeous hanging baskets for my front porch. Purple/magenta Coral Bells. They look like little petunias. Great against the light yellow house. Just gotta keep them watered. They're on the south side of the house and get all-day sun. I hope your weekend in your PJs is great! Gretchen in Mississippi |

Good morning, all.
I hope everyone will have a pain-free day today. Gretchen, good luck with the colonoscopy. Kat, I hope you are able to enjoy your weekend in your PJ's. I'm not sure what I'm doing this weekend. It's kind of fun not having any plans. I'm hoping to get some housework done. I haven't really felt good the past few weekends so I haven't done a whole lot. We had some pretty bad storms in the area last night. We're suppose to get more tomorrow, I think. I'm hoping they won't be too bad. |

Good Morning Everyone,
Sounds like we are off to a better than usual start. Good for us. I had phantom smoke smells yesterday and thought for sure I'd end up with a migraine, I did not. Gretchen good luck with your tests. Sleep well afterward. I'm off to work for now. Meetings this morning. Cindy |

Good morning everyone. It sounds like it's a better morning than the last few have been. I woke up with a horrible heachache AGAIN! This is getting old. I know I'm getting them mostly because my sleep schedule is soooooo messed up.
At least I found my cat late last night. He seems fine. It took a lot of coaxing to get him close enough to grab. My 24 year old son finally got a hold of him. I kept him in the house until about 3 AM but I had to let him out again. He was driving us all nuts. He truly is a TOM cat. Anyway, at least I know he's okay for now. The puppy slept until almost 7 this morning. I have soooooo much I need to do because I haven't felt up to doing much the last couple days due to my migraines and my missing cat. Unless my head improves, I may not get much done today either. Oh well, the dirt with wait. Gretchen, I hope your colonoscopy goes well. I had one several years ago. The procedure is easy (you won't remember a thing). Hopefully they won't find anything. Kat, I can totally relate to staying in your PJs all day (or weekend). I do that a lot when I'm feeling blue or when I'm coming off a 3 day migraine. It's great for the spirit to just veg. Take care everyone. |

Hi peeps -
I'm going out in a little while to lead my *last* lunchtime seminar. I've been doing them for a year - have met a lot of interesting people who are happy to have a free business seminar but haven't ended up with one client out of it. My franchise was encouraging me to continue, and I felt like I had to show up for what I had scheduled and publicized, but I'm so glad they're almost over. (and I'm not having much to do with the franchise any more!) I would be thrilled if I got a client or two out of today, why not, but if not I'll be thrilled to have my Thursdays to work on my new business ventures, which are much more promising. I just put on my Jones NY pantsuit - amazed I could close the pants! Got to keep the jacket on so no-one sees how bulgy I am. I keep thinking I need to get my head stabilized before I can take on losing weight, and I can't afford to buy a lot of new, big clothes right now, but right now with the warm weather and all I really want to take this weight off! Maybe I'll start a thread on healthy lifestyle later and get some tips from those of you who have managed to lose while coping with the head pain. I just don't know what I'd do without my chocolate... Hoops I'm so glad your kitty came home. He make take a really long time adjusting to the puppy but at least he showed you hae knows where home is and who loves him. Our cat is just starting to get along with our dog after 6 years!!! But he only shunned us for a few weeks at the beginning. Gretchen good luck with the test and have a lovely rest after! Everyone else take it easy - start the weekend right! - Megs Free our brains from migraine pain my blog: www.meganoltmanfreemybrain.typepad.com E-course on Managing Life with Migraine at www.takebackyourlifefrommigraine.com |

Good morning--
Gretchen--by the time you read this you will have had your test and woke up. I hope all went well. I'm going to admit my age here but the first colonoscopy and endoscopy I had, they hadn't yet invented that all important drug Versed, and even with Valium (they didn't give you Demerol) those were tests direct from nightmares!! Even now, when I have to have one, I just hate it, even knowing it won't be like my first ones! Hoops--Thank goodness your cat decided to make an appearance so you would at least know he's ok. When we got our sheltie, Lance, one of our cats, Dozer, was totally ticked off for over a month. Fortunately, Dozer, has a tremendous need to EAT, preferably 3 meals a day, and living in the country, there's no other place for handouts (catch his own food--forget that). Kat--I hope you enjoy the extra rest you definitely need this weekend. I pray that the monster stays off everybody's backs today. I plan to fool around here a bit more, then get dressed and spend a few minutes on top of Harmoni before heading off to work. Tracie |

Good morning, everyone!
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood... And I'm feeling pretty good despite yesterday's beast. Going to the dermatologist later to have her look at the red scaly patches under my nose that are spreading to my cheek...ICK! LauraSue. (I'm 54, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.) MENOPAUSE COUNTDOWN: |

Hi everyone!!
Good luck to all with doctor appointments and/or testing today!!! I feel good for the first time in DAYS!!!! I hope this continues! I am starting to get sleepy though. I woke up a few times last night and DH left for work late today, so of course the alarm clock rang every 5 mins for like an hour!!!! Other then that, things are good! DH fixed our vaccuum yesterday. We thought we would need to replace it, but it only needed a belt. Finally! Clean floors!! LOL We also have put together a list of things we want to get accomplished around the house in the near future....ah home improvements! I hope you all are feeling well today! Hugs to all! Terrible migraine today. My 2 yr. old is expressing her independence verbally (fighting the car seat). My ears have been ringing since this morning.
My day doesn't end until 10p.m. tonight, after my evening class. I'm waiting for the Imitrex to kick in something and drinking tea for the caffeine. I have the Toradol injections, but the last few I've used seem to cause awful stomach cramps (something to discuss at my next appt.). So I hesitate to use them. Hoping you are having a sunny day. Morning all, or afternoon to most of you. I made it in to work today, though it was slow going. Taking yesterday off was definitely a very good idea, as my head felt much better by the end of the day. I didn't sleep well last night though. DBF kept throwing 'bows (elbows) in his sleep, plus we had some weather blowing in. I felt ok enough to come in when I woke up, so here I am.
There's actually one guy on my team who's fairly sympathetic to my health issues. He's a father of six kids (five girls, one boy) and is a pretty nice guy, so when he came back in this morning (he's been out sick all week) I told him a little bit of what had happened this weekend, with the frightening symptoms and call to 911. Normally I don't tell my coworkers much of anything since most of them are useless or insensitive on the migraine issue. He was sympathetic, which was nice. Even if he still doesn't really get it, he tries at least. I'll be calling shortly to check in with my new specialist's office to see if he has any cancellations. Not terribly likely, but worth the phone call. Tomorrow I have a follow-up appointment with my eye doc about my tinted contact lenses - the first pair I tried didn't work as well as I had hoped, but he has some more ideas so that is encouraging. Hope all are doing ok. One of these days I hope I'm feeling better enough to be here more often - I miss visiting with you guys. -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ "What will you do, if it does not turn out how you expect?" MJ--that's scary! I'd hate to catch an elbow in my sleep!
Tinted contact lenses... interesting idea.. I think I saw some of your other posts about that but apparently didn't think long enough about it... do they adjust to light like the glasses do?? You sound a bit more cheery though... glad you had a nice convo with your coworker... I was just thinking--that's a lot of kids!! I have a timer set for myself.. I'm calling a naturopath/homeopath here locally (well not really.. I live in a little TINY town... about an hour from a real town)... I'm hoping to get the list of bloodwork he likes his patients to get... have my PCP order them so I can then pay out of pocket to see him.... I love the natural path and I would be so thrilled to see someone..... hopefully they won't mind my roundabout ways... I don't want to pay for a first appt until I get bloodwork done, hoping to get my insurance to pay for that.. I'm being tricky! lol |
