Good Morning everyone I hope everyone is doing better today than they were yesterday.

I woke up at 2:23 this a.m. with a beast again. The weather has decided to keep throwing my brain for a loop. So, I took Maxalt so far and no luck. Bed rest today.

I want to be better by this afternoon so I can take my daughter to gymnastics even tho DH said he can come home early from work to take her.

I am going to poke around here a bit and then lay back down.

All my best to everyone and I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!

good morning -

Laura, so sorry you've been visited by the beast - me too.

Fridays seem to be my biggest migraine day - so much for TGIF - I get the Frigraine instead!

Wrote a post to my blog this morning about Frigraines - usually they come at the end of the day after I've pushed myself to finish the week's work. Today I woke up with it - I think it's that I pushed myself yesterday to catch up with work after being out sick. And it doesn't help that it thunder-stormed at night and today is cold and rainy.

Totally new for me - last couple of migraines I have gotten the light sensitivity as a warning signal - usually I don't get it til the headache phase is in progress. Last night I couldn't read, watch tv, or use the computer. Danny read fairy tales to me. Isn't he sweet?

Good morning everyone!

I'm very glad it's Friday! Laura and Megs--I sure hope you're both feeling well really soon! Fingers Crossed Boy, those migraines that come in the night are the WORST!! Hair Raising

I've had a tough couple of days! I was feeling SO upset that my nerve block didn't last a little longer--got a migraine on Wednesday night (only 6 days after the nerve block). Nothing was helping at all, so last night I tried one of my new rescue meds. WOW--that medication is STRONG!!! I'm still trying to recover! I'm very tired and shaky, but pain free right now! Thumbs Up I'm really glad I took the medicine while DH was home, though...I could've NEVER watched the kids last night!!! This afternoon, both kids will be in school. Maybe a nap will be nice? Zzzz'z

I'm looking forward to the weekend! Nothing special planned, but I love having everyone home together! Maybe I'll take the kids to see the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie...

Lots of Heart and Group Hug to everyone!

Jenny -
I was wondering how you were- hadn't seen you around the forum for a bit. So sorry it's been bad! How old are your kids? That is sooo hard, when you've got little ones and aren't up to taking care of them. My migraines didn't get bad until after both of my kids were school age, so it wasn't too often when I couldn't take care of them when they were small - tho my recurrent sinus yuck started when Adam was a baby. Now my big kids (17 and almost 13) bring me ice packs and cups of tea and snacks. Feel better!

I took the imitrex this a.m. when the pain was only about 1.5 - seems to be working well.

Let me just say that I am VERY happy today is Friday. Yesterday turned out not to be such a great day. I posted the full story in the Support, Vents & Gripes folder.

My head is feeling better from last night though, finally. I just need to get through today and then it's the weekend! I think I'm going to suggest to DBF that we go out for a nice brunch on Sunday. There's a great cafe across the Sound that we've been to a few times. A nice ferry ride and some yummy food might cheer me up some.

Laura and Megan, sorry to hear the beastie got you today. Thumbs Down Hoping that he stops attacking you very soon! And Jenny, hope you're feeling better today!

Group Hug to all.

Group Hugs to everyone who is in pain today.

I'm frustrated. I had 7 days of menstrually related migrianes starting the day after new years. Now they are overwith, but my NDPH is now increased. It had been better before this round of migraines. It seems that the migraines increases my NDPH. So, I'm still having to rest and not doing what I want to be doing. And I'm Mad. I was hoping to go to the grocery today. My refrigerator is empty! I'm a health-food nut when it comes to eating, so I eat a lot of fresh stuff... that of course we've run out of. Well, we've run out of everything... My DH usually picks up the slack when I can't grocery shop, but he's working long hours and 6 days a week now due to his busy season. I'm just angry at this headache today because it is not letting me just a normal thing that I planned on doing. Like teri says: I have migraines/headaches, but I REFUSE to let them to have me!!!

So, I am taking care of myself today. Cool (In your face, migraine, NDPH!) I'm resting and doing lots of reading: reading some professional development and some of the many books I am reading (can't just read one!). And perhaps tomorrow I will be able to make that trip to the grocery. Blinking

Kelly

Hi, everybody!

I guess I'm going to continue dragging in sometime after lunchtime. This morning, for some reason DS was on MY computer playing some game involving dice and no strategy. He's gone to college to bring a load of junk and will be back this evening. It's about an hour and 15 minutes each way, on 4-lane road, so it's not a bad trip. Classes start Monday, and he'll probably go back to stay on Sunday. It's been nice having him home, but I'll be sort of glad when he goes back to school. I've kind of gotten used to it being just the two of us and the dog.

Speaking of the dog, the little mutt just got home from a $431 vet trip. He's got some sort of infection -- they gave him an antibiotic shot and sent him home with medicine. The receipt even lists a bladder ultrasound. The vet will call this afternoon with details. This might explain why he's started wetting on the carpet. He's 15 1/2, and I figured it was just old age and loss of bladder control, but maybe it's an infection.

He was a "free" 6-week-old puppy from the Animal Rescue League when we got him. Since then he's had allergy shots and knee surgery and eats prescription dog food at more than $2 a pound and takes doggie Celebrex for his arthritis at about $2.50 a day. Wouldn't trade him for the world.

I LOVE the term "Frigraine." Here's to a great weekend!

Gretchen in Mississippi. Clear and cool for the next few days. Much better than the thunderstorms and tornadoes yesterday. At one school a couple of counties away, they had the kids hunkered down in the halls in the main building. A tornado blew away the gym and the art building, which would have had kids in them on a normal day. A couple of kids had minor injuries. Goes to show that it's really not silly to follow emergency plans!

Gretchen - glad you like Frigraine - you can see i'm laying around not doing anything much productive - time to play with words:

Friday + Migraine = Frigraine = Fried Brain

I need an image here for "this is your Brain!! This is your Brain on Migraine!!!" No cracked eggs in the emoticons!

Kelly - Do you have any on-line grocery ordering available near you? I use one once in awhile when I'm sick for awhile & DH gets overwhelmed - it's more expensive and they don't have everything I want, but it helps when we're down to nothing. peapod.com maybe you can check if there's a store near you that uses it - I'm sure there are other services too.

- Megs

Hi again guys!

Megs, the kids are 4 and 7. Too little to do everything on their own. But big enough to get their own snacks and drinks! (And they're pretty good when it comes to occupying each other if I'm not well.) Of course we have the occasional "He hit me!" "No he hit me!" "Well he called me poopy!" etc. If things are really bad, I make a little bed for myself on the game room sofa where I can here everything, even if my eyes are covered with my heating pad!

Please everyone...have a relaxing weekend! Take care of yourselves and feel well!!! Group Hug

As for me, I'm very glad it's Friday. It was a long week. It just seemed to take it's own sweet time meandering along.

I've not got any beasties mucking up my brainbucket, but I'm very groggy and exceptionally tired today for whatever reason. I seemed to sleep fine last night, and even got an extra half hour or so. Just one of those days, I guess. I could nod off at any moment. I'm not droolin' (yet), but wouldn't be surprised if I found myself doing so at any moment.

I'm taking it easy tonight, though. My mom, dad, godparents and I are all going to go to dinner and then to a movie tonight. Nothing I have to think through, tonight, except whether to get the medium or large popcorn. So that's good. Big Grin

I went to work a little earlier than usual this morning. I had several different tasks to complete in the morning. I spent the afternoon on a task that is necessary, but rather tedious. However, I think I probably tolerate the task better than others on my team. To me, it feels like taking something disorderly and making something orderly out of it. Finally got that turned in to my supervisor just before time to leave.

Tomorrow I travel across state lines for my monthly volunteer work.
