Yesterday was pretty great.

We had just a small part of the family over for Christmas Dinner (a whopping six of us). We were talking about fun movies at dinner we never seem to get tired of...stuff like The Air Up There and Cool Runnnings. We cleaned up the dishes, settled down in the living room, turned on the TV, and wouldn't you know, Cool Runnings was actually on. We watched it again, since my Gram had never seen it before.

After we played a game of Chicken Foot (a dominoes thing), had leftovers for supper, and spent the next hour or so talking about things that used to be here in town long ago but aren't anymore. Much of the time was spent trying to figure out the name of the bowling alley that used to be once upon a time behind a shopping mall, but's been gone since th 70's. It was fun just to hear my Gram talk about all the different places she remembered from downtown.

After everyone left, I vegged on the sofa with my book until bedtime. Just a nice, relaxing day with family. No chaos.

Today I got up and went to work at my usual time, 7:30 A.M. And was not pleased at all to realize before long that I was getting a migraine. I took an Axert, and it worked its magic, but then I had the side effects to cope with for the rest of the day. Nonetheless, I was thankful that the migraine was aborted.

If this keeps up, I'll have to call the doctor and let her know my pattern may be changing. I used to get them mainly starting mid-afternoon, but the last few have started in the morning.

Tomorrow I'm going to work early so I can get off early. I have to go get another follow-up chest x-ray to find out if my asymptomatic pneumonia is gone. I was supposed to have gotten it on Monday, but that didn't work out--long story.

Wow!! I get hammered by the beast, miss a few days of posting and Whammo-new folder- I love it; Thanks Teri Yes

Ok, I am going back in time, if I may....

Christmas was great! I prayed for my migraine to lift in time for Christmas morning and it did. I had been down since Sunday with it but thankfully it passed in time for me to enjoy Christmas with DH and kids.

We opened gifts, played games, I cooked/cleaned up a ham dinner, DH baked pies and then we watched some Christmas classics (Christmas Vacation, A Christmas story and since my daughter got gymnastics for Christmas we watched Bring It On). I crashed and burned in her room last night.

Today, DH & I went to see Alien vs. Predator. (It was ok, not nearly as good as I am Legend). Then we came home, hung out with kids some more and now, I am on here trying to see what everyone has been up to and finding new folders Razzer

Day two pain free =)

Well, today was nice, too, until my afternoon dose of iron.

For some reason, the little black pellet o' doom seems to agitate me at times. A bit after this afternoon's dose I suddenly got very warm, irritable (I wanted to swing at things for no reason at all), edgy, and I got weak and trembly all over. I also get more easily short of breath. This has happened before with the iron, too.

It's very similar to the stuff that led us to look for a pheo a couple few years back. I did manage to flunk the ACTH test with elevated cortisol levels. But...then I couldn't seem to flunk the assorted piddle tests, so we never did any scans to look.

Now, I'm under the impression that these little black pellets are supposed to help the anemia, restore my energy, and make things better. I've yet to notice any positive effect from them, and have read that you should see something in around a week. Instead they seem to exacerbate the anemia symptoms. GRRRR.

I can't wait until I see that blood doc on the 14th, if I don't go stark raving mad in the meantime from said pellets. I can't seem to dig up any side effects other than the usual gastro ones. Other than a bit of mild nausea here and there, that's been fine. It's this other stuff. UGH.

Oh, well. When I get all edgy and overheated, at least I can come down here to the basement, where it's cooler and hole up away from anybuddy, lest I become a bundle of UNjoy.
