Happy Monday everyone! I hope everyone is feeling well today.
I am headed into the shower, the hotter the better, after a migraine I LOVE the hot showers After that, off to the neuro, then hopefully some additional errands. I have to get my med records today (wish me luck!) I also have to get food for the snake and then off to Best Buy to find out how I can stay connected online while out of town...any ideas anyone? I am a newbie to laptops and being online without using my own wireless connection at home. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Deb, my DH snores like a fiend. Many a night I spend on the couch, LeighAnn's room, etc. He finally agreed to go to a sleep clinic For those of you under the weather, I hope you get better and soon! Good morning everyone!!
Hi Laura! I'll be thinking of you today as you have your appointment (and as you pick up those records)! I'm definitely not a computer expert! I just know that your laptop has to have a card to recognize wireless internet. If it has one, it automatically finds an internet connection (if there is one nearby!). DH handles all that stuff for us--his job is in computers. I decided a long time ago that I wouldn't learn much of anything about computers--he's the expert and I don't have a lot of available brain space!! I need as much room in my brain as possible for the stuff DH doesn't know so well! So it's Monday again. One kid's off to school and the other one will go shortly. I find Mondays a little lonely--I like having everyone home! I'm still feeling great today! Maybe I'll make a lunch date with a friend... Have a wonderful day everyone!! |

Good gravy it's hot here. 66 degrees - ok, that's not hot, but it's hot for January! Humidity is 68%. You could cut the air with a knife.
Unfortunately, with warm weather like this in January comes thunderstorms (oh Jamie!) And they're predicting them for between midnight and 4 a.m. Deb [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] |

Mornin yall! Not feeling so good at all today, head has a lot of pressure and pain, and did all night. Just the depakote is masking it a bit. I see my worthless neuro on Wed. My DH is going with me, should be interesting!
Well first day back to school for my kiddos today I learned a very valuable lesson though.. ALWAYS make the boys empty their backpacks on the FIRST day of a vacation.. My 15 year old had taken an extra milk to "drink later" well he just found it yesterday... Needless to say he now needs a new backpack! THEN my 12 year old couldnt find his pe/wrestling uniform.. You guessed it.. in his backpack and didnt get laundered ewww My youngest has been throwing up since friday night. Poor lil guy. Today he has the hershey squirts. ugg and still not eating much at all. We tried eggs and toast for breakfast yesterday, I told hubby he wasnt ready for that... Guess what.. mom once again was right! Ended up cleaning large portion of my carpet Laura good luck running your errands! My suggestion is to bring your laptop to best buy and talk to their sales people. They will give you lots of advice! SO glad your hubby is gonna go to a sleep clinic! That should help both ya! My DH has apnea and has a machine. horrible snorer! Well |

Uggg - hershey squirts! And I thought martian snot was bad!
Good morning - good luck to Laura and MJ with the dr. appointments. I'm still in bed. Nothing much coming out of the nose but lots of pressure and pain in the sinuses, and get real dizzy and woozy if I'm up longer than 10 minutes or so. I did go down and eat breakfast, cleaned up the kitchen. Then had to get horizontal again. Danny made pea soup with our left-over Christmas ham yesterday - yum - but he didn't finish the clean up! Story of my life... Danny has a bad cold - he was snoring last night, finally sent him off to the guest room to sleep. I slept really badly. Was up too late playing a computer game. It got me all over-stimulated and I couldn't sleep. This is not good sleep hygiene! I'm moving the game off my desktop so it's not such a temptation. Hard when I'm sick and can't concentrate so well - I like doing these mindless things, but some really aren't good for me! I will lay low today. I've got my laptop and can do some work from bed. Canceling a marketing meeting this afternoon so I don't have to go out. I am really frustrated with being sick! Still no migraines, thank you God. But I feel the pressure in my head and I could trigger one really easily if I overdo it. So I promise I won't... - Megan Free our brains from migraine pain my blog: www.meganoltmanfreemybrain.typepad.com E-course on Managing Life with Migraine at www.takebackyourlifefrommigraine.com |

Best of luck with doctor appointments!
Megan -- I hope you get to feeling better. Don't overdo. I didn't sleep well last night, either. Woke up about 3:30 and didn't really get back to sleep until around 5:30 or 6. Alarm goes off at 6:30. New alarm clock. It's got great big numbers so that I can see them without my glasses, but the alarm is LOUD! I'm going to look for the speaker and find something to muffle it with. I heard DS come in at 4am. DH's response was that if he were DS's girlfriend's parents, he wouldn't stand for that kind of nonsense. The girlfriend lives with her parents and goes to one of the local colleges. Weird headache today. Wandered around my head at level 5 while I was awake in the middle of the night. I don't take anything for the pain I wake up with, because it often goes away after I stir around and start drinking my coffee. It didn't today. So far, I've taken my Skelaxin, then Anaprox, then Hycodan. Later, I took an Imitrex to keep whatever is going on from triggering a nasty. I didn't have migraine pain, so the dog walked me, then I walked myself. Only did 30 minutes today. I think my shoes are wearing out, so I didn't do the 45 minute or hour-long route. Usually, my head gets a lot better after I walk. Not much today. Rats. I had errand plans today, but I'm grounded because of the Hycodan. So I'll weigh in tomorrow and try to shop in the rain. WeatherUnderground says 80% tomorrow. I need very much to go to the grocery store. I'm thinking about going back to the mall after I weigh in and continuing The Search for The Comfortable Bra. I'll mall walk and get all sweaty after that. So DS gets to run some of my errands. To the post office to return clothes I ordered that are too big. To the vet to get a refill on the dog's hydroxyzine and some of his prescription dog food, which costs more than chicken breast fillets per pound. I hope everyone's day is great! Well, as promised, I posted an update about my visit with my new HA specialist - you can find it in the Doctors & Clinics folder. The short version is, it went very well and I really like her!
I had to get up about an hour earlier than usual to make sure I made it to my appointment on time. I woke up feeling dizzier and more nauseous than usual - last night was another night I got dizzy in my sleep. Blech. But by the time I left to drive to the doctor, I was feeling better. Now I'm at my usual level of pain, which I can mostly ignore. Laura, if you can't figure out the laptop and wireless thing, it may be an option to go to a local library. Libraries almost always have free internet access - sometimes they require you to reserve a computer ahead of time, but often they have some computers you can use without a reservation. It may be worth it to check near where you'll be staying when you're out of town. Everyone else, I hope you have a pain-free or at least low pain day. -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ “HOPE CAN GROW FROM THE SOIL OF ILLNESS!” This is the theme of 2008’s National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week in September. I think it was that hot here too today. I wouldn't know- 'cause I was knocked out most of the day from rescue meds from yesterday night's wicked migraine (climbed to about a 7 or 8/10 ) So much for accumulating days off this new year, eh?
Tomorrow's supposed to be 71 degrees here. Stay safe from the T-Storms! I hate those late night ones- especially when my NOAA weather radio starts chirping at that hour of the day!

I've actually had a pretty darn good day. My only real complaint is that I called my blood doc's office so that I could request some sort of feedback on the labs he ran last month ahead of my appointment next week, and neither he or his staff has seen fit to call me back.
I'm going to give him what for about sitting on my lab results (I shouldn't have to wait a month), not mentioning that a couple of the tests seem to require fasting (which I didn't do), and the fact that he never mentioned when we discussed dosage that I needed to space the iron apart from my Armour thyroid supplement. At one point I knew about the Armour/iron spacing, from the literature, but I had forgotten all about it because it didn't apply. The pharmacy doesn't give a fact sheet, either, with plain old refills, so it only came across my radar a couple days ago by accident, when I found an article online by Mary Shomon. If the iron I've been taking every morning for the last four weeks has goofed up my thyroid stuff more, I'm not going to be content. I'm hard enough to straighten out in the first place. Phooey! If he doesn't call, I'll be calling the office again tomorrow. The joys. Oh, well. Tonite I have a monthly board meeting at church. I am celebrating because this is my last one! Hooray! I've given up my post and told them I'm not running for the office again, because of the health stuff. It's just too much. I've sat through many of the meetings on migraine days or low energy days, and it's tricky to keep up when you're the Secretary/Scribe and you have to keep up with notes and agendas and the like. Too much brain fuzz. So some other Dragondrool Forum Moderator ~~8=:>>>> |

Glad that you're taking care of YOU. I was kind of in awe of the fact that you could do such a task after a full day of work. I'm kinda braindead after the day of work, and with health and other things, unwinding is the only thing I want to do- (at least just going home and doing something there- like forumming, etc!) So- congrats on the accomplishments that you've done in that office position, and congrats on realizing your limits! |

A pretty normal Monday for me. I went out to our work location at 7:30 A.M., and at times wondered how I was going to fill the day. But I had plenty of interviewing to do, so the day got filled very quickly, and then it was time to leave.
I went to the YMCA and had exercise. Exercise days for me are Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, unless I have a migraine or some other excuse. Then I came home and got on the forum. The younger cat has been wanting to be petted while I'm using the computer. A pet snake? One place we lived when I was about 2 years old, there was a boy on the block who had a pet boa constrictor. It got loose! He came down the street asking the neighbors to call if they found his snake. Mom told him she wouldn't need to call if she found it--he would hear her scream. His family eventually found the snake, wrapped around the phonograph turntable! |

My morning started out a bit unusual to say the least. After I closed my front door early this morning, I bent over to pick something up.
As I stood up, I saw my front lawn. It was covered with Christmas trees! There must have been at least thirty trees layed out across the lawn. Apparently, my college son's friends thought it would be funny. Of course, I started cracking up immediately and took a few pictures. It really helped brightened up my day and my coworkers day. All we needed to say was something like remember the Christmas trees and we would get a huge smile. It really was something! They were gone by the time I got home tonight. MJ - I really hope everything went great today. |
