Migraine

Morning gang-
It's HUMP DAY! It sounds like it needs to be TGIF for most of us. At least we're half way there.

Well, yesterday went down hill fast and hard. I went to McD's to get a burger-parked in the 3rd spot from the door, went in, got it, back to work and ate. That much exercise alone was too much. I got started coughing and it wasn't long before I couldn't breathe enough to make a complete sentence-only 1-2 words. I knew dr/boss was in his office, so I hit it. By the time I walked the hall, the only thing I could get out was help. I've NEVER seen him move that fast! Two albuteral treatments and a while with some oxygen and I was breathing again. Scared the bgeezes out of me. I think it did him too!

He changed my inhaler to one that is for COPD/severe asthma/difficult to treat asthma and gave me a rescue inhaler. He also gave me some GOOD cough med to keep the cough from even getting started. Another $200 at the drug store! Between DH and I, that brings the total so far this month to over $1100. I should own the place. Anyway, the new inhaler agrees with me-thank goodness-and I've been OK since then. DH and I had a LONG talk last night and he knows I'm sitting on my tail for a few days until we get this under control. I NEVER want to go through another episode like yesterday again.

On a bright side, my new help is working out great. I hope within 2 weeks to be out at 3:30 again and actually take a day off soon.

Good morning guys.

Well at least I hope any way. I haven't stopped by in a while. I have been in a horrid migraine cycle. This is day 11 or 12. I have called my doc and been to the ER 3 times, so now my doc wants me to be seen. We are driving up today to see what he can do to intervene. I am sceptical since its been so long and nothin has helped, but I have to keep trying. This has been so so hard to do that I am just exhausted. But I am tryin to hold hope in what doc will do.

Lynn- I really hope the new meds get that undercontrol! Good for you to take it easy today. I hope that helps some too!

Alaura-Maybe your dr will have a good combo to break the cycle.

My yesterday was misery. The migraine started in the early morning. Not a god-awful one. I had to take the kids to co-op, and spent the next 3 hrs in my sunglasses making a pathetic attempt to grade papers. The Voltaren didn't help at all. When I finally got home I took the fioricet/cod and went to bed for a hour. It helped enough that I felt more functional the remainder of the day. My head is doing that that this morning where it's threatening me, and makes me wonder if the real pain is about to attack again.

Nikoli went back to school today but man, I've been hit hard. It's more the soreness and headache/migraine from cough that is the worse. My back, my sides, my hips (that wierd) and my head.

Dh told me just to order carryout for tonight. He also drove Nikoli to school.

We went up to Nikoli's school yesterday to get his homework - the entire counter was filled with homework waiting to be picked up, five and six packets deep. Amazing.

Lynn, I hate side effects and I'm glad you're better now.

Hi guys -

Well the sinus Martians invited the Migraine monster in for a party in my head last night. They usually do. Just like coughing can induce a Migraine, seems sinus pressure and nose blowing can too. I had a really rough night - 2 doses of Imitrex didn't touch it, had to go for Reglan and Oxycodone and finally managed to get to sleep around 2:30. Slept past 10. Thank goodness Danny got up with Adam to get him off to school. Danny's very tired and feeling run down - he went back to bed after Adam was off on the bus. I hope he doesn't have some other infectious thing!

We're a sickly bunch all around at the moment, aren't we, Forum friends?

Lynn that is so scary! I hope you can rest, rest, rest!

Today has been so awesome (sense the sarcasm!)!!!

It started out with me feeling really blue and almost crying at my job because I can't take it anymore.

Then, I got to call and try and get claims reprocessed by my insurance company, which made my blood start to boil.

Oh, and I forgot the best part about waking with a Migraine!!!

I think I should just go back to bed and try again tomorrow, or next week would be better!

Lynn, I am so with you this week! It should be Friday already!

Megs, hope you get some rest - sounds like you had a bad time last night/this morning.

Deb, I'm glad your son is feeling better, but I'm sorry you caught whatever it is that he had! to you too!!

On the plus side, the roof is done - now if only they can stop installing camera's and drilling all over the place - like over my head! Dropping ceiling pieces and being loud is just not cool!

Hope you all have a better end to the day!!! Hopefully we will get lucky soon and not feel like ick all the time!

Forgot to mention - someone was asking about the supper co-op yesterday - I'm meeting with the two other Moms for coffee tomorrow. We are supposed to give a general guideline to our family's dislikes - but it will only work if your family eats a pretty broad range of food. They do emphasize whole grains & organic stuff as much as possible. We figure Adam probably won't eat everything, but we send him to make himself a sandwich plenty of nights anyway. We have the "this is what's for supper, if you don't like it make a sandwich" rule.

I'm so sorry everyone is feeling so bad today. I had a bad headache this morning. Rain, front and I slept late, nothing like stackable triggers to make things miserable in the morning. I had hoped it was a caffeine headache but it wasn't. I treated it and it went away so I really can't complain too much.

Everybody remembers Nutmegan my mare. She is the number one mare in the country in her classification of "Geldersmare" thru the Dutch Warmblood Keuring. Her picture will be in the breed national publication. We're very proud of her!!! That makes her the best example of the "old fashioned" dutch warmblood "all discipline" horse they found in this year's inspections. I'm going to teach her to drive. I have a super buggy that needs a good engine.

Lynn--I hope you can get things under control. Maybe you need a nebulization machine to use at home.

Alaura--I hope the docs can help you get things under control

Amy--I hope things don't flare up again

Deb--I'm so sorry you're now sick. Hope Nicoli stays well for awhile

Megs--Hope your sinus infection goes away quickly and that you're able to get some rest. The dinner thing sounds really super.

Eileen--Geeze I hope you make it thru the day and are able to rest and get rid of the migraine when you get home. Sounds like a right mess at work.
