TGIF ladies!
Hooray, Friday is here and I'm back among those of you who can't wait for it to arrive. I have to say, this week has gone by pretty quickly. I've observed so far that the "office" ladies aren't offering me quite a warm welcome. I think it's because I work for the warehouse manager, but, I'll give them some time and maybe they'll come around. If not, oh well, no loss. Eileen-I cannot believe you got snow already! Insane! I read a few weeks ago that the northeast is due for a very cold winter which will spark more snow storms. Something to do with El Nina or whatever...lucky you, huh? Have a great day everyone! TGIF everyone!
Laura, I'm with you-I'm glad it's Friday! I hope the ladies come around and realize what a super person you are. If not, it's their loss! Hope you have a super weekend! It's going to be crazy today-It's my B-day! My parents will be in this afternoon so I've got to get the house back in something resembling order before they get here. It looks like a bomb went off. The living area is a disaster due to the ongoing remodeling, but that's almost done. THey are just going to have to deal with it. Work is finally going good. I hope to be back to normal hours in a few weeks. It's so nice to have someone that actually WORKS. Why is it that things get crazy just when it starts to get good? REmember I had the flu 3 weeks ago that turned into a respiratory infection? Well, the cough and chest tightness hasn't gone away-in fact, it's gotten worse. Dr./boss agreed to see me yesterday and after a neb treatment, 3 spirometry tests and a rescue inhaler he announces that I have all of the symptoms of allergy induced asthma! I'm back on antibiotics to try and finish clearing up the infection and we're trying to find something that works both for the sinuses/allergies and the asthma. It's tough with all of my drug allergies but if I want to breathe, I guess I dont' have a choice. Fun, fun. I didn't get to use the new inhaler last night because DH worked until after midnight. I will not take new meds by myself, so I'll try it today. Hopefully I won't have a problem with it. What a way to spend your b-day hu? Gotta go. DH wants to get up early so I can open gifts. Hope everyone has a super day! Lynn |

Friday, Friday, Friday, Hallelujah!
I woke up to snow this morning. Not only did we not have much of a summer it's only the middle of October and it's already snowing... ick... I think their should only be snow for Christmas. Any other time I can do without. Too bad I live in New England, lol. Busy day ahead. Already went to PT. At job #1, but only til just after lunch. Have an appointment with my gyno at 215. Hopefully a little shopping with my sister after my appointment. Then I have to work job #2 at 5. Looking forward to the day being over. My left arm is all heavy and tingly. Stupid neck and PT. It's a challenge to type so this will probably be kept short. Laura - I hope the girls get to know you better and their attitude changes. Lynn - Happy Birthday! Dutchess - Hope you have a good day today. Time to find something to keep me busy for the next few hours. Meli |

Hi everyone,
I'm working from home today, but have 2 Dr. appointments, so I don't know how much I will get done. I've been on the Neurontin for almost 2 weeks now and so far the side effects are so much milder than the Topamax was. The main side effect is that I wake up each morning with swollen hands and feet. It gets better throughout the day as I get going, but takes several hours to go away. My migraines are still almost constant, but its too soon to tell what the new med is going to do. Even though the pain is almost constant, the nausea is a lot better. And I've had a few days of milder pain mixed in. Laura- I hope the ladies at work warm up to you, but I know how office politics go. If they don't, its their loss! Lynn- Happy Birthday!! Dutchess- I hope your day is going well. Peggy |

Good morning everyone!
Don't mind me, I feel like I've been hit with a Semi this morning. ugh! I broke down and took something (vicoprofen and zofran) but I'm worried about MOH - it's been too many narcotic days this week. Stupid TTH's are kicking my butt! Our heat came on for the first time last night. That means it was below 55 in our house. Yes, we survived the snow and gross icy weather yesterday but guess what??!!? We are getting the same for the next few days, all through the weekend. This weather is counter productive to my head. I don't like it. I've come to the conclusion that Mother Nature does not have Migraines or any other neurological disorder, or achy joints that hurt when the weather gets bad. I was going to meet a friend tonight for a drink. It's her birthday. I don't think it's a good idea for me to drink today, much less the fact I feel gross and really not up to it. One good thing is that recently my job has been so busy that the time flys by and the week ends quickly. I like when it goes fast, but wish the weekend didn't. LOL Well, it's still gross and icy rain with overcast and pressure here. I think I'm going to walk away from the computer for a bit and give my eyes a rest. I've already rolled my blue oil all over my head and temples! I'm glad it does not clog my pores! See you all later. Oh, and Laura - about the office ladies....
1. you are a NY'er so you probably have that working against you in their minds. I ran into that when I was in Charleston. Our 'go! go! go!' mentality seems to clash in the south. Nothing against the south - I love it there! It's just a lot slower paced than the city up here where everyone is in a huge rush to go....nowhere! Plus, they are probably threatened by how awesome you are! 2. you are a NY'er - if they give you problems just go all "New York" on them! LOL Seriously though - I know how hard it is to try to fit in and not get the welcome you were looking for. Don't worry - you are an awesome person - if they don't warm up to you it's THEIR loss. Good morning. What a difference in the tea room between posting at 8 am and 10:30 am. A lot busier.
My morning was taken up by a drive into the ped. Kath needed a note to keep ibuprofen at school and Nikoli needs more meds. He take four pills (two meds, a combination to make up the doseages he's on.) I only got three scrips - oh, the nurse thought he only took 5 mg of ritalin, not 15. No doctors were there to write a scrip for the other 10 and I had to wait 30 minutes for a doctor to get there. No, no problem, it's not like I have things to do. Yesterday, I went up to the MS for parent/teacher conferences. They're trying student led conferences but I thought the teachers would be sitting in. Nope. It was completely conducted by Nikoli! Nikoli has a very hard time talking "off the cuff." It was very unproductive and I said so on the parent exit survey. Laura, do you work five days a week? Good luck with the office ladies. Lynn - Dutchess, a New Year's birthday could be fun; just think of the night before as a big party for you! Meli, I can't believe all the snow I saw on TV last night. We haven't had a fall, either. It's going to be another record setting cold season for us. Peggyann, it sounds like the new med might be working. Eileen, maybe Mother Nature needs a nice neuro disorder to understand what all kinds of weather does to us. Deb [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] |

Crud-
Why can't I catch a break? I waited until I got to work to take the Advair that dr/boss gave me yesterday and wouldn't you know it-I had a reaction to it too! I calmed my coughing down, but totally constricted my bronchial tubes so I couldn't even walk 10 feet without being totally out of breath and wheezing like crazy-and it kept getting worse! A shot of ephinephrine and about 2 hours and it finally stopped it from getting worse, but it's no better either. What a way to spend the day-and I have company to boot! Lynn |

Hey guys,
I just have a min since the kids are eating snack right now. I wanted to pop in and say happy friday!!! I hope you all are getting through and feeling ok I had a terrible migraine today but my rescue med has started to help. I am so glad that I don't have to do anything this evening. It will be so nice to relax! I hope that this monster doesn't return when my meds wear off I also don't have many plans for the weekend! It will mostly be a relaxing weekend which I am very excited about. Well shoot, the kids are finishing up so I gotta go. Have a great weekend and good Friday. I hope you all can relax too. I will stop in again after work. “Hope is the thing with feathers, that perches in the soul, and sings the tune without words, and never stops at all.” |

Thanks for the kinds words everyone, they are much appreciated and definately needed! Time will tell with the "office" ladies LOL
Eileen-you crack me up, seriously, I was laughing so hard my dogs looked at me strange. Yep, I'll always be a NYer at heart and always have my nasal LI accent to boot. Although it doesn't quite come out when I first talk to people unless I say an obvious word like "coffee" or "talk" or "four" Deb-Yes, I'm working five days a week but I only work four hours a day so even with a Migraine I can manage through it. I had a bit of a Migraine Tuesday and a definate Migraine today but did okay. Laura Forum Moderator |

Oh, yes, Laura!
When I was in school in S.C. the guy I was dating at the time used to ask me to say things because I was the one with the accent. He was from FL - he said y'all, recon, all the southern slang. Here I come saying 'caawwfee and tawwlk' he thought it was the funniest thing ever.
