Good morning.
I have a lot to do. I MUST go to the grocery store, or I won't have anything to eat this week. Not even today, in fact! I also want to finish cleaning up from the work the plumber did last Sunday. I did the most essential cleaning right away, but there's some other cleaning I'd like to get done. I'd also like to go to the YMCA and get some exercise. Between feeling ill with this cold, and the weather this week, that hasn't happened as much as I'd like, even though my head has mercifully given me a break. I'm not intending to be terribly vigorous; the cold is still holding on to a degree. I hope everyone has a good day. |

Good Morning,
Just a quick hello to everyone. Piper has a race and I need to get myself going to get to the boathouse. I can't believe the difference a week makes. I don't know that I could have made it over there last week. Gratefully, I can today. The girls will not freeze on the water today, it's 45 already and there is no wind. I'm so glad she did not presue rowing at a college back east where there is a real winter. Nutcracker she would not be doing well in you weather this morning. California girl that she is will do just fine at UCLA!! I hope everyone has a pain free or a tolerable day. Cindy |

Good morning all -
Nut I hope you feel better and get some food & exercise! Cindy have fun watching the rowing. I don't know how much they practice in the winter back here - we see the Princeton crew team on Lake Carnegie a lot, but only from about April on. It's very gray here today. Poured last evening and it's supposed to do some more. I stayed up late finishing a book - not a smart move for me. So far so good, though. I'd love to have some energy today and get the house whipped back into shape! I think I'm due for a migraine-free weekend Lately I've been the first one up on weekends but not today. My guys (adult & child) are up watching cartoons downstairs. I'm about to go down and see if Danny wants to cook me breakfast! (He loves doing a big weekend breakfast but hasn't for weeks since he's been sleeping in.) See you all later! - Megs |

Hi all!
I felt good yesterday, really good. I had a mild head pain, TTH late in the day, but didn't need to even take anything and it went POOF in it's own. I woke up today and I feel GREAT. Normally this would be wonderful news.....but for me this is prodrome. I normally feel very euphoric a day or two before a big BIG one....like an almost status one. I'm praying that it's just me feeling good and that's all. I HATE that the feeling great feeling has impending doom lurking behind it in my life! Anyone else have this? Just wondering. Well anyway, while I am feeling great, I'm going to go feed all the kitty cats at the pound. Have a great Saturday guys!!!! Good (late) morning all!
How are all of you handling this whopper of a front? I hope somehow you've managed to get through it ok! Last night was awful-- full out vomiting migraine, and then DH decides he just has to work on putting in the floors. So I get to hear the scream of the table saw, aloud air compressor and nail gun. He just doesn't understand. I've tried to explain it to him, but he can't get past the "it's just a headache" and doesn't understand why I can't carry the air compressor upstairs (he asking this as I have my head in the toilet) or help him rip the boards to the appropriate width. (not even to mention what the sound does to me) It's still there today. Tolerable so far, but it just won't quit and is getting worse. And he's back at it again... screeech, saw, bang, clang... and the smoke alarms are all going off since he's burned the wood cutting it. I think I'm going to head to my mother's. She's only 15 minutes away, and it'll be quiet there. I just can't handle the noise... not with this migraine. (with this front, I know she's feeling it too Ugh.. I have things to do, but right now I'd give anything for some peace and quiet. And dark. |

Howdy everyone!
It's 1:00PM here and I just woke up!!! I'll post about my visit in the "success" folder later! Nut, I'm sure glad you're feeling well enough to get some exercise today! Thank goodness your head has been cooperating!! Cindy, good like to Piper with her race! Eileen, let's hope that migraine never comes! I get the euphoria sometimes, too. We call it "migraine mania" here at my house. I suddenly feel the urge to clean behind the furniture, sort out piles of old mail, and re-arrange closets. Everyone knows they need to LOOK OUT when I feel that way! Lothianjavert, what an awful night! I'm feeling good today! |

Happy Saturday to all!
We had SNOW last night. Maybe 1/4 inch accumulation on the deck and the front steps. The ground was too wet and warm for it to stick. They had more in the northern part of the state. Sparky needed to go out at 3:30 this morning, and the snow crunched underfoot. Had a good appt with my primary. On his scale, I'd lost 17 pounds in the last 6 months. He was pleased (me, too). We're going to put off going on a statin to see if the weight loss will bring my cholesterol down below 200. And it's time for my colonoscopy. Whoopee. MJ -- how great about the AIA Board! What an honor! Nut -- I've got to go to the grocery store, too. NOT my favorite thing to do. Cindy -- I'll bet rowing is fun to watch. Megs -- a big breakfast sounds great. I can make my MIL's biscuits, and I'm craving a couple. Eileen -- I hope the energy isn't prodrome! Lothian -- going to Mom's sounds like a great idea. New floors sounds exciting! My carpet is looking very tired, but I'm not quite up to cleaning up. I'd like to do hardwood in the living room and dining room, but my guys are violently against it. My head was pretty nasty yesterday, and I slept from about 3 to 10, ate a piece of pizza, and went back to bed. Felt great when I woke up, but it quickly blossomed into a 5. I HAVE to go to the grocery store, and I'll do that later on. Won't be around for the next few days. We're meeting my sister, her HD, and her daughter in the Arkansas mountains. We've been to Petit Jean State Park a couple of times but have never stayed at this resort. It looks really nice. We'll each have our own log cabin. I've got red beans and rice in the crock pot for tomorrow night. The grocery store run is for stuff for lunch, stuff that we can eat on the trail while we're hiking. From there, we're going to Stuttgart, where DH grew up, to visit old friends. We'll be home late Thursday. DS is home for spring break, but he's staying here. He'll take care of Sparky and visit friends and have quality -- and quantity -- time with GF. Hopefully, he'll give us a little time Friday and Saturday to visit. Have a great week! Hi, everybuddy!
Other than the brainbucket photo op this morning, nothing big is going on in droolie's corner o' the planet today. All I've got planned is to enjoy a nice, sunny day in the fifties. Hooray for that! After looking at my questionaire info, the MRI tech person added a setting to look at the MS possibility again, besides the look for Chiari that we had planned. Neuro doc's told me in the past that I describe MS to a T, but of course it's never showed up. The first MRI report mentioned a probable lesion which was later dismissed as an artifact. Nothing showed on the second MRI. Hopefully, whatever causes me all this oddball neuro glitching and general wonkiness will show up on today's (Third time's the charm, right?) photo op, so that we have some kind of answer for a change. We'll see. Hurry up and wait time. Dragondrool Forum Moderator ~~8=:>>>> |

Sounds like today was grocery shopping day just like the other day was laundry day. Kath enjoys going shopping now that she drives me everywhere!
Lothian, I'm sorry you're having to put up with that. Dh redid our family room a few years ago and it was raining so he had no choice but to bring everything inside. He knew it was going to bother me, but I understood. I hope you get some quiet at your mom's house. I have a good dinner planned - Kath is going to BBQ some ribs, we'll have baked sweet potatoes, barly and mushroom pilaf and salad. Other than that, just a boring day; no, not boring, and good day for a nap! Deb [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] |

Morning all! (It's still barely morning here, anyway.) I'm doing better today than I was yesterday. My lunch with the AIA exec director and marketing person went very well, but the Thai food (while delicious) was not as safe as I had hoped - felt rather nauseous and migrainey (worse than the morning) the rest of the day. Took some promethazine once I got home and that helped some. Sleep helped even more. I'm doing better today - head is about a 3 and so far the nausea is tolerable.
DBF and I are flying to my family's house in MA next weekend. (My mom, sister and BIL live in a two-family Victorian about an hour outside of Boston.) He's met my family but has never been to their house, or any of MA for that matter. I'm excited to visit home again and to bring him to see the place. My family is in the process of remodeling it so every time I go back it's different. Not much planned for this weekend - just cleaning up and getting ready for being gone next weekend. DBF is finishing the cat tree he built for our kitten. We also need to cover two more dining room chairs so we can give my mom her staple gun back. Otherwise though should be low-key. We've got some chicken paella in the crock pot today and will be making some beef stew tomorrow. Nut, glad your head has been giving you a break while you've been stuck with the cold. Hope that you get everything done that you need to today. Cindy, my sister used to do crew in college at RPI, outside of Albany NY. I don't know how she did it - I don't think it was ever really warm enough to be out on the water! Megs, a big breakfast sounds delicious! DBF may make some of his gluten-free dark choc chip pancakes tomorrow for us. Eileen, I definitely get euphoria as prodrome sometimes. (Not lately since I've gotten into this daily migraine pattern though.) It's no fun having that feeling of doom with it. Lothian, so sorry to hear the beastie's got you under his claws. Sounds like heading to your mom's place is a good idea. Hope you feel better soon! Jenny, I'll be checking in with the success folder shortly! Gretchen, glad to hear your PCP is happy with your progress - and you too, of course! Nuts about the colonoscopy though. DBF had one a few weeks ago and he still complains about the prep drink. Dar, hope you start feeling better soon. Droolie, do you know when you'll get results back from your MRI? Hopefully this one will have some better answers for you. Deb, your dinner sounds delicious! And glad to hear that you have Kath to drive you around now. I'm off to do some reading and knitting. Maybe some cleaning later if I'm feeling up to it. Have a good Saturday everyone! -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ Why do I capitalize Migraine? I should hear MRI results sometime in the next couple of weeks (neuro doc will be in and out of the office).
As for the colonoscopy prep, I still shudder after, I dunno, five years, I think. I thought four ounces of Phospho-Soda would be a breeze to chug, at only two ounces at a time. That's before I knew how salty it was and how hard it hits the poor innards going down. *cringe*! At least I didn't have the stuff where you have to gag down a gallon of prep. Me too, eileen. this week my shrink said if we could only capture the prodrome euphoria molecules and take them every day, everything would be great! LauraSue. DBF had to drink 2 liters of the stuff in 2 hours. As I remember he had to drink 1/4 L every 15 minutes, then 8 oz of water after an hour, then an hour break, then repeat. The second hour he only made it about 15 minutes before he threw up all of what he had that hour so he decided enough was enough. (And like the colon place told him, they'll never turn down a clean colon so they still did the procedure.) He told me his prep drink was lemon-flavored which made it that much more vile. In his place I would still complain too. -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ Why do I capitalize Migraine?
